Hive Mac 1.4 is now available!

Direct link: https://github.com/hivewallet/hive-osx/releases/download/1.4/Hive-1.4.zip

The biggest change in this release is the transaction details popup that appears when you click a transaction on the list:

As you can see it includes: transaction ID (with a link to blockchain.info), some status info, metadata from a bitcoin: URI or payment request, and also the selected fiat currency and its exchange rate at the moment of sending. The share button was moved there too.

Transaction list entries (and contact list entries, since it's handled by the same code) also had a minor redesign and they look a bit more modern now without the gradient.

Other changes:

  • payment transactions are now also broadcasted locally in case the receiving server fails to do that
  • fixed matching of incoming transactions to contacts
  • updated Chinese, Danish and Greek translations

And some selected changes from the 1.3.x releases if you missed those:

  • added a warning that support for apps will be removed in v. 1.5
  • added Norwegian, Persian, Thai and Ukrainian translations
  • added Google Drive backup option
  • µBTC is now called “bits”
  • fixed compatibility with latest Dropbox
  • you can now clear data saved by Hive apps

Also, the Arabic, Hindi, Korean and Urdu translations are still badly in need of updating. And Hebrew, Indonesian, Lithuanian, Sinhala, Slovak and Slovenian translations were started, but the translators seem to have given up pretty quickly...

That is true. Which is the specific thread I am supposed to post my questions, relating the web app, as a Windows user? I can't find.
I think this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=663832
I think that topic is dead; unfortunately. (See my last posts there; without a reply)

No chance to learn more about Hive for Web, then? Pity Sad

What are the chances that the Mac version will gain support for multiple addresses?  I'm currently running core, but am considering using a second wallet that syncronizes across all my devices nicely (I'd like to use something that I have a bit more control over than blockchain.info's wallet, although that one is nice to).  Is there a future plan to make all the different hive versions compatible?

The chances are very high I'd say. I'm planning a few small 1.4.x releases, then a 1.5 that adds support for Waggle from Hive Web, and then a 2.0 release that adds support for BIP32, same way as in Hive Web, with a 12-word passphrase, address changing after every transaction, etc. There probably won't be multiple addresses as in multiple labeled subaccounts with separate balances at the beginning, but it's something that I definitely want to think about.

Do you have plan to support Coinapult like Electrum https://github.com/coinapult/electrum ? thx
edit:
I think mobile app with Lock/unLock functionality will be cool and useful.

Supporting people with beautiful creative ideas. Bitcoin is because of the developers, exchanges, merchants, miners, investors, users, machines and blockchain technologies work together.

Hmm, no, I haven't thought about that at all. I haven't even used Coinapult before. Is it something a lot of people use? That repo you linked to, is that a fork of Electrum? So the official Electrum doesn't support it?

Yeah, OP is a little mixed up.

Coinapult copy&pasted electrum and added their own functionality.

Electrum has not done anything to implement Coinapult.

Not anytime soon, sorry. 2.0 needs to happen first with BIP32 support, and then we'll see...

You also need BIP 44 support, which is an extension of BIP 32 to use trezors.

What's going on with Hive Web??
More than +/- 48 hours had passed since the post in your Twitter that you are changing the hosting provider.
Are there any updates regarding this?

Do you guys use cloudflare?

You can turn up the security settings and see if that helps.

Scammers' thoughts: hmm... bitcoin related? DDOS with ransom note for bitcoin.

Reply: umm, we don't have any money... and our server is covered with DOS protection... soooooo....

Scammers: *Doesn't understand English*

I think they just translate their ransom notes in English and any other correspondence is ignored.

Scum bags.

Hi,

I've released Hive Mac 1.4.1 today. Not much has happened, but there's one thing a lot of people have asked about for a long time: private key export! (It uses the unencrypted WIF format, compatible with most other wallet apps.)

Electrum 2.0 BETA is out. Can we use the seed interchangeably with Hive Web?
