Who will need an adapter kit for the Hyper 212 EVO?
I expect to have all the pieces in hand tomorrow (Tuesday), for 25 kits, of which I'll keep 8 for myself. My kit will include screws, spacers, metal and nylon washers, all specifically chosen to properly mount the Hyper 212 EVO to the Chili board at the proper height without shorting anything, and repurposing the too-tall stock standoffs to support the unit horizontally such as on a shelf. The kit will not include the cooler itself, or the thermal pad which can be bought from FrozenCPU. The Hyper 212 EVO, and probably any other Socket 1155 cooler, is only designed to fit boards with an existing backplate and a chip die 7.8mm off the board. The Chili board will not have an existing backplate and the chip dies will be just 1.2mm off the board. I'll try to make some pictures tomorrow.
EDIT: Actually, I have more thermal pad than I need, so could include the 11W/mK pad in 10 of the kits.

BATCH 2 NEWSOP Updated. We're going to start accepting orders for batch 2 in the next couple days. Unfortunately the price will be a little higher (~17%) than it was before due to a variety of factors (smaller batch size leading to less economy of scale, unexpected costs affecting our price (online suppliers apparently having a presence in TX and charging us tax, programming and test taking much more time than planned and driving up costs) and additional overhead as the average order size is lower), but we should be ready to go pretty shortly. I am working through my backlog of people interested in batch 2, and I should be done by tomorrow. I'm trying to hit everyone, but if you've emailed ( mrtealasic@gmail.com) or PMed me here and I don't get back to you by 6pm board time tomorrow, send me another message. I seem to get a couple new pages of PMs a day so some can get lost in the shuffle I'm afraid.

Can you confirm that the EVO does not come with backplate? In this image of the included hardware it does appear to include a backplate. (source = http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Detail/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-212-evo.html) Thanks.

No, the standoffs are the same length, 6mm. The difference is that one set is 6mm wide and the other is 8mm wide. The extra width would make them more stable, but 6mm should be ok too.

Okay, so right now I've ordered the Hyper 212 EVOs and a PSU. I haven't ordered any screws/connectors. Will I need any rubber/metal washers? Here's the two items I'm looking at getting: 2x http://www.amazon.com/Standoff-Phillips-Head-Screw-Pcs/dp/B00CWEL9SO/r1x http://www.amazon.com/Sunkee-Brass-Standoff-Spacer-Female/dp/B00CJS2TBO/Will that be enough screws/standoffs/etc for 4 boards using that heatsink+fan? This is what the screw kit contains according to their site: • (25) 8 mm long M3 #2 Phillips washer head machine screws • (25) 6 mm long M3 #2 Phillips pan head machine screws • (10) 20 mm long M3 standoffs • (10) 17 mm long M3 standoffs • (10) 12 mm long M3 standoffs • (10) 11 mm long M3 standoffs • (10) 10 mm long M3 standoffs And the M+F standoffs bag is a set of 100.

Yes, the cooler comes with a backplate, but it's designed to fit over an existing backplate in Socket 1155 systems. To fit the Chili, you need to mount the cooler's backplate upside down, and then the stock hardware won't reach. That's the reason for the longer screws. My kit also includes spacers to fill the gap to keep it flat. 10mm might be slightly short, especially with the nylon washers I'll put between the board and standoffs to prevent shorting the traces around the holes if the standoff scrapes through the coating.

M+F standoffs are useless for this project, unless the male end is extra long, and then you'd still need M3 nuts (not the same as the nuts that come with the cooler). The F+F standoffs in that kit are too long and the screws are too short. The screws need to be at least 10mm long, preferably 12mm if you use nylon insulating washers. The standoffs should be no longer than 8mm, and even with 6mm F+F standoffs you'll probably need to add washers between the bracket and cooler to compensate for the low chip height.

My adapter kit for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO includes: (4x) M3x0.5 12mm pan head screws (4x) 4.7mm nylon spacers (between raised backplate tabs and board) (4x) 0.8mm nylon washers (between board and F+F standoffs) (4x) 6mm F+F standoffs (connects 12mm screws and cooler's spring-loaded screws) (8x) 0.9mm metal washers (1 between each screw head and backplate tab, and up to 4 stacked between cooler and X bracket) (4x) 1.6mm nylon washers (between board and nuts for board support standoffs) Optionally I can include 20x40mm of 11W/mK thermal pad, which can be cut into 10mm squares for 8 chips. Price for kit is $3. Add $2 for pad. Add a flat $1.69 per order for USPS First-Class shipping within the US. Payment in BTC is preferred.

I should mention that this is all to make it easy to screw on and off the heatsink in a similar way as you would on a CPU. If you don't care about that and only plan to mount it once, you can just use a 6-32 1.5" screw and nut to hold the heatsink down. You can still even use the spring if you want. They're just a more of a PITA to install that way, especially if you take them on or off. Also, make sure you keep the springs and that little clip somewhere safe so you can put it back on later when you move the HS to your new 50PH/s Intel ASIC machine in early 2015 when BTC hits USD$5000.

Optionally I can include 20x40mm of 11W/mK thermal pad, which can be cut into 10mm squares for 8 chips.
Just what I need. Could I order 4 kits, including thermal pads? I can pay in BTC. I want to set mine horizontally on a surface like in MrTeal's pic above.
