Any suggestions? Thanks in Advance!~
It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Just received a Chili today and within minutes of it starting to hash it starts reporting that it is receiving an empty string from the temp sensor and the last Diag LED goes on, its in a 40 degree F room with three fans on it and heat sinks.

Any ideas?

Can I get an RMA?

Just one LED is on, and it just stays on? Was this one you got second hand from someone?
PM the serial number and any other details on the symptoms if you can.

i may just try and replace the ftdi chip
Before doing that, try shorting the center two pins on the unpopulated 0.1" connector labeled PROG. Pin 5 is MCU reset and pin 6 is ground, so it will hold the microcontroller in reset. If it's an MCU issue holding it in reset should cause the device to pop up on your computer as the FTDI chip will be able to connect. If it doesn't show up, it likely is the FTDI.
replacing the FTDI chip fixed it!!!!!!!!

My chilis in garage are not working if cold. Yesterday they stopped at 3 am and today same. I rebooted everything and LEDs are blinking well, but my raspberry pi doesn't recognize the devices. They may be gonna recovered Morning as the yesterday case. How are your chilis? Are they okay in -7 Celsius degree?

I found the reason. U25 temperature sensor doesn't work properly under low temperature. I covered it with a small tape and now all chilis are okay.
Out of curiosity, how did you verify that the temperature sensor wasn't working correctly? It is specced to work linearly down to -40C, but I haven't actually tested that.

You rock. I've replaced a few of those on the BFL devices; bitch in heat.

How did you do it on the Chili? And what is with those chips?

It's the first one on a Chili I've heard of failing, but they're actually not that hard to remove. Just heat it with air and pull it off.

Before covering U25, chilis stop soon, but now all fine after covering U25 with a thick tape. Blowing directly to U25 in this freezing cold weather (-7 Celsius degree) might be the reason. Let me check more and will report again.

I'm sure this is the miner I just sold joeventura.  This is a new symptom.  All of my Chilis have performed w/o issue.

I've offered to fully refund joeventura if he is unable to get it working.

I just want to be clear that this is not a case of me dishing off a problem miner.

I am not saying you are doing any such thing.
I have no doubt you are an honorable member of the community.
I have no worries that if I ask for a refund I will get one.

Rats.  I was worried that might be misinterpreted.  I know you don't think that, joeventura.  Wink

I just wanted to make sure MrTeal and any third party observers didn't get that impression.

I used an X-acto blade to cut the legs off then cleaned the pads off with solder wick and replaced the chip. no hot air gun available.

The hot air would have been preferable but I have removed plenty of chips this way before so there wasn't much to worry about. The biggest challenge was the large ground plane and my crappy home soldering iron. If I had taken it to work to use the equipment there it would have been much easier but I am on vacation.

Got the Chili + Evo 212 cooler. But I cant seem to make the cooler fit.....did anyone make a Youtube video on how to Mount ? Or pics ?

Lots of posts early in this thread

Edit:-   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=304250.msg3355048#msg3355048

The feet do not work(holes in the board are too small)

Didnt notice the screws didnt fit Sad

What to do to get it running today when in Denmark......
There's a couple mods you can do to use the included hardware and the longer standoffs. Remove the screws from the cross brace and toss a couple #10 nuts (or some other space) on them, then put the spring and retaining clip back on.

The less annoying and higher performance method (the backplate is in the better orientation) is to use some M4x50mm screws to hold it in place though.

Would like to use the M4x50mm version - but not sure how it will fit. The backplate needs 1 "side" of the screw to be "flat". Are you using a special M4 or am I missing something ?

Or patient.

Did you try unplugging, waiting 30 seconds and plugging in again?

I have a wide range of hardware error rates.. I am wondering if they are related to cooling, luck or random chance...  So before I go tearing down my cards and reseating them how do these numbers sound?

1 card at 3.5% error rate, 7 cards around 8% error rate 2 cards at 10% (and change).

So should I be worried with 10% error rates or is this one of those random chance things?

Thanks in advance.

Ask me about cloud hashing (it doesn't suck) or click here
