There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Thanks to mootinator the site now shows the worker stats from BTC Guild.

Round 5

His amazing troubleshooting (try deleting and retyping it) worked flawlessly. Remember when in doubt hit the restart button.

That's a cool thing there - being able to select the rounds and see what the hash rate is and payout info !!

Nice work, -R-!

Received this from our R2 Seller of HF Order 616:

"The KnC miners are ok. I have several terahash. Believe it or not I am still waiting for one more "day 1" unit which is only "in progress"

Looks like it will be more like day 10+

Oh an the ASIC board of one blew up (each Jupiter has 4 separate ASIC boards)

Interesting discussion here about performance and how the cooling of the unit has an impact on HW errors and performance

This box like it cool and likes the cover off better than the cover on.   Airflow not so great through the box as it is, and even worse with one case fan out of order.
I put a fan on the outside of the case blowing though the defective fan.   Hashrate climbed from 450 to 560 - back up to about where it was when I had the cover off.

We're not mining on Eligius anymore - they keep gettnig DDOS'ed and we just waste precious hashing time trying to stay connected.
We're doing merged mining on BTCGuild.

See R6 thread for screen shots of two more tracking numbers I received.

Here are the BTCG charts from the last 24 hours.  You can tell where I took the machine down last night to work on the fan, and you can also see where the hashrate jumped up and stabilized when I pointed an external fan to blow through the case where the bad fan is.  These are GB6 charts - GB5 charts are virtually identical.

These boxes really want to run with the case top off....

Chart Porn alert!

okay so new pool which i get as pools can get very slow at times.  Are the payout addresses below still correct?

as long as we use the same 2 payout addresses we can always have some idea that we are hashing.

Yes those will always be the GB6 and GB5 wallet addresses, regardless of mining pool, so that anyone can verify mining income and shareholder payouts for those two group buys.

smart keeps things easy to track.  we have the other new machines on the way.  which is also nice. I appreciate a seller that makes a good effort to do things correctly.  thanks again.

yw.  It's always more fun to play as part of a team than to be off on your own....

Good news - the second Jupiter is supposed to make it here before the upcoming three day weekend.

Fantastic, that's going to be a lot of hashing goodness going on.

And too much heat !  My apartment is like an oven with just one running..

I have a better idea for how to get everything square with the hardware only hashing 50% on both group buys.  How about this:

  • When the other Jupiter gets here, I'll get it out, configure it, and put it back in the box.
  • On Tuesday morning I'll ship it down to hosting.
  • Once it arrives on Wednesday and starts hashing - bringing us up to 100% of the promised hashrate on both group buys - I'll do a manual payout from BTCGuild so we have all the 50% funds in the GB wallets that we've made to date.
  • Once all the 50% hashing funds are in the wallets, I'll match them both to bring the payout up to what 100% would have been

That gets everything caught up immediately without having to worry about needing to catch up in the future at a higher difficulty.

We'll run with one Jupiter here, the other in hosting until the third machine shows up.  I'll immediately get that configured and shipped off so that we have both GB machines running down in Missouri.  Once it arrives, I can decommission the box at my house at my leisure, configure it for my own pools, and get it shipped down there without affecting the group buys in any way.

It is a plan.   Sound work.  I know about too much heat I ran 13 pc's and 26 gpus in my attached garage all winter my heating bill dropped 150 a month last winter.
