Im my opinion is no can be centralized, bitcoin created decentralized and regulation of the government can't make it centralized in some country.
So I like bitcoin decentralized right now. Some government want bitcoin centralized, the government want control bitcoin, track transactions, sender, receiver and easy to manage. But I sure it will be happen.

as per governments view, they never accept decentralized bitcoin. the major reason is they unable to track the sender and receiver. smuggling and black money can send anywhere without third party knowledge.

so do you all think bitcoin can be centralized ? can be do ?
I think bitcoin will never be a centralized system as it is created decentralized and none of us can get into it to make changes even government or private institutions. If bitcoin can be centralized then it should have changed a couple of years ago or even last year as it is sky rocketing up. I think the creator also made it decentralized to defend itself from being hack and having a bad governance.

Some countries may think they can make government-centered bitcoins, but the fact is bitcoin is decentralized so they can not control it completely.
but on the other hand bitcoin transactions are not entirely anonymous, there is still a bit of a gap for transactions and I think the government will not be so careless, because the current technological developments are increasing, it is not impossible to track transactions and trace them further.

I think most of the government authority officials are taking some actions to those addresses who have had a huge Bitcoin in it. I'm wondering if they do putting some names on the addresses that has a huge Bitcoin inside. Bitcoin transactions is not totally anonymous so they might tag those addresses. And speaking of centralized Bitcoin is too impossible to happen and only those exchanges can be centralized but not Bitcoin.

No, Bitcoin is designed to be decentralised and will not be centralised. In any case, if bitcoin is centralised, I don’t think it will have the success and be so popular today.

This could happen if the government can formalize the existence of bitcoin, and of course bitcoin will be fully controlled by the government to prevent activities that could harm the government itself, such as smuggling of corruption money or other types of crime. but with the government policy of course bitcoin users feel in the limit by the existing rules.

I think this will never be done.
BTC Technology are so advance to be centralize and if ever if BTC will be centralized then the question will be "What does the btc mean?" because btc will be a bank instead and how will btc be centralize if no country will be its main base (or main place or center -- I can't find the specific words for it). If country claim that the btc will be centered in their country some country will not agree or complain.

I think that banks one day will not have much choice and they'll have to accept cryptos, because it will be very profitable. And as for me, jumps in prices will be a bigger problem they'd have to deal with, than usage of cryptos by terrorists, or for the purposes of money laundering. Everyone keep talking about that, like money tracing is the only way criminals can get caught.

Never! Bitcoin is based on the technology called Blockchain which relies on the principle of decentralization so in any case, Bitcoin won't be centralized as it will kill the core purpose of it. There is a theoretical possibility of 51% attack but again, it will need high amount of resources and money to attempt such attack and Bitcoin will fall to 0 soon after such attack so it would be like a suicide for anyone along with the network so practically it is not possible.

I strongly agree on your opinion that, Bitcoin is based on the technology called Blockchain which relies on the principle of decentralization so in any case, Bitcoin won't be centralized as it will kill the core purpose of it.  And adding also my opinion that, bitcoin is better than banking, because bitcoin is not centered by the company or big power and there are some who become bans in some countries. as you say, that it is the negative effect of bitcoin. In addition, Bitcoin is highly anonnymous non-government currency itself, no body can control it under his dominance even not governments. On the other hand, Centralized Bitcoin; technically means you have to go through one party, you can not avoid that "Party", due to its distributed nature.

Actually, they are able to track sellers and buyers, but it's necessay some investigation effort to do this, so governments find more convenient to ask you to  make the process easier by showing yourself, your personal informations when dealing with Crypto-Currency and at same time giving them a piece of your profit, and if you ask why, the answer is because they can order it...

Ironic how the governments want to make the process easier for them, not being necessary to track enthuasiasts as they will show themselves, but asking for more money back. So governments have less service to do, but want more money on their pockets.  Cheesy

It will never be centralized unless Satoshi change how bitcoin was developed the rules. This bitcoin was founded in a way that was created. If it will be centralized the more hassle. Like taxes, more corruption, government interfere, and banks limit.

No government can make Bitcoin to become centralize as it was designed as a decentralized by nature but they could regulate it thru exchanges in order to track every transaction that is why exchanges are now very strict in accepting clients and mandatory for the ICO to submit KYC as these was per regulation policy to easily tract a suspected person that are doing illegal activities using Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is Bitcoin because it is decentralized, open, cross border, neutral, sensorship resistant, open for innovation by anyone etc.

Let’s not mix up Blockchain technology with Bitcoin. Blockchain without Bitcoin isn’t exciting at all. It is what is sold by many consultants to private institutions.

That is why bitcoin is special because of it's decentralized characteristics. Having a peer to peer transactions have advantage of having low fees and don't have to transact with banks.

Centralization and scalability are opposite sides of a spectrum. The more centralized you are the less scalable you are. Ever since from the beginning, BTC has opted for options that wont affect the centralization side as much as possible. With that being said, bitcoin has no obligation to follow the government, only 3rd parties such as exchanges are obligated to do so. If anything becomes centralized, it wont be the btc technology unless it opted for a more scalable but less centralized approach.

If the crypto currency is centralized, then the whole meaning of it will be lost. Those who invented it will not allow its centralization

There will be no chance that bitcoin will be centralized system as it is already based on blockchain technology which is running on decentralized system.  What government can really do right now is external centralization or putting regulations and laws guiding the consumer for using it, also tax will enter on this thing as government really run on bitcoin because of potential taxes.

Here is opinion regarding this:

1) Governments can create their own coins which are completely controlled and monitored by them. But people will not show interest in such projects because better alternatives are already there.

2) Regarding bitcoin investments being non traceable, you have to move funds from bank to buy. After selling also, funds come to the bank, how will you hide them ?

It will never happen if bitcoin system becomes centralized, I think bitcoin is made for a resistance to decentralized system, such as banks and so on. Regulated or not, prohibited or not by government bitcoin users will still exist, because it will be difficult for government to ban bitcoin until the users of bitcoin no longer in the country. It's a system of technology or even more using internet sistem that everyone can outsmart to use it.

Actually, bitcoin was designed which decentralized was occurred without any 3rd party involved like banking system or any government sectors that can be possible for manipulation. On other hand, most people made bitcoin as their mode of payments which is easy, fast and reliable transactions using different applications like coins base or coins.ph. In this situation, still no 3rd party as the apps have a features accessible to different establishments without standing in line that can pay via online transactions. The bitcoin is impossible to be centralized at all since many people relying on this dominant crypto currency as the people can control on their own without any can interact or manipulate.
