Trading is not easy as we thought. I also think to trade is just enough to buy in cheap price and sell at high price to earn profit. But it was not that easy because the price is unstable and unpredictable. The price can down suddenly even we though we has been bought cheaply. All we can do just hold until the price recover. What we need is to be patient and wait until the price rises. |

I like to think that trading is an art you have to have knowledge of the market also make the right decisions at the right time so also you have to be patent enough knowledge in the crypto world is very powerful and can help you in many ways Trading is also a very serious work that needs the best knowledge. Before starting to do it, you had to learn more about it. Probably, small investments would be also helpful - you could watch how alts prices' change. |

This is a very valuable advice, when trading crypto currencies you need to invest only those funds that you are ready to lose. If you invest all your money, you can get very serious problems. If the author of the topic invested money not in the worst coins, then he can wait for the market to recover and sell coins maybe even with a profit.  |

if they can't take any longer of holding their tokens they can lose their money. As a hilder, we must have to learn how to be patient because not all the time that prices in the market are good. Try to use technical which you have then comeback to market again.

It is such a pathetic situation that you lost such amount of money, however it is advisable to know exactly what you're doing so as to avoid this kind of ugly situation next time.
Traders read a lot! Avoid too much gain/greed!
Learn from experienced traders too.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if this has been covered but...
It's important to differentiate between trading and investing, too many people use them interchangeably and they are not the same thing.
Trading - whether intra or inter day or you are scalping or range trading you need strong technical analysis skills as well as a good understanding of sentiment and fundamentals. Have a look at babypips.com which offers a free forex trading course which has the same principles as crypto.
Investing - use the community wisdom and take your time reading everything about the project from whitepapers to their website, twitter and even github if you have a coding background.
Ultimately it's always your money and your decision whether to invest in something but you can always improve your odds of getting it right with education. If something doesn't work out as you expected then take a step back and work out what went wrong and if/how you can avoid the same result in the future. Never trade or invest through fear of missing out - crypto is still young and there will always be another opportunity to make a profit.

$ 13k is a huge amount. I imagine that you do a lot of trading activity with great value. And all that need not be regretted. Because basically we are taught to lose in the world crypto.

Basically, there is no way to get back your money after you invest. I suggest, before you invest in such ICO you study first where you want to join, read whitepaper, try to contact the team where you invest your money, search about project etc. one should research and study crypto before engaging one. Now you already learned your mistakes. Also try to ask people here in forum, that is the reason why this forum is made, to help the community understand crypto and discuss ideas.

Difficult to accept that, but nothing you can do, so you should accept that. That's the consequences that you should know in trading, There are winners and losers of course. Do that lesson to become better traders in the future. I'm sure you can get it back too.

in my opinion you may make mistakes or in other words you are less thorough and meticulous in investing are many people who give opinions about their losses but more people who give an opinion of all that is profitable |

OP you are not the only who lost money here, people lost 5x the money you lost. I came here investing some altcoins a year ago and until now I haven't got my money back from that coin but still I'm investing to some other altcoin as I have gain from another coin. I got caught up by the ICN hype and invested during the day where the coin's price was $5. Its not just $1.
Sure you can also try the other projects to profit too.

If you lose that huge amount of money worth of 13000$ from trading, then i will say that trading is not for you. Your character and personality reflect on your trading strategy and habits, if you are too impatient and too greedy you might end up of losing huge amount of money. If you have enough patient and humble then long term investment was a good option but then again it all reflects on your personalities.
