That mostly depends on what current market state is. If market cap is falling and ICO tokens are listed then it would probably be a smarter thing to buy tokens from market, and vise versa.

Nowadays ICO investments are not attractive anymore. The price tends to decrease once it gets to the market so the only profit you can benefit is the bonus. Sometimes too they get to the market and they are not able to perform well because the team is not able to push the project forward.

I prefer to buy during ICO, if the project is good, the price will do x5 - x10 of the bought price, and that is a  very huge return. If the project is shitty, then the best thing to do is just to buy as soon as it gets launched, becuase the price will be cheap

If you want to earn more profit then of course you have to take higher risk and buy from ICO or even pre ICO. The advantage of buying on ICO is that the price is really good but be careful to control the token to make sure the investment is a good

I think it all depends on the situation.  If the market is unstable as it is now and the price of coins is very low, then it is better to buy coins on the market than to risk and invest in ICO.

There such coins that pumped when hiting the exchanges. But I have to admit that there also loser coin when they was unfortunately being controlled by shark like Exacoin.
So this is the advice.
if you invest ico, make sure the project have the ability to hit exchange, because once it can do that, as my personal experience, it will pump right in the first day of hitting and after that will dump alittle, dont be so greedy, sell it went the price x3 or x4, you cant not expect to sell in the top because you never know where will be the top. After that when you get back your capital just play with the rest.

Of course, bounty hunters immediately sell their coins, but this is normal. If the project is promising, the price of the tokens will go up.

The ICO market was quite in a bad state in the past months. Looks like ICOs are getting more attention again. During the bear market, I usually waited for the ICO to hit the market since the price usually dropped.

If you invest in ICO then you get more coins and at a lower price, but the risk is higher.

The risks have become so high that investors prefer to buy tokens that have already entered the exchange and are being traded. I think this is correct, because the token has already passed the most difficult.

It all depends on the price , where it is more profitable in the market or ICO . So I like to be more careful .

To buy at the cheaper price, it's better to buy at ICO stage rather than in market

I believe that if the project is good and you see its potential in the market in the future it is much better to buy it in the ICO phase. But the main number of coins certainly falls in price because of the bounty hunters

I think with what is happening now, where the market is not stable and the new ico tendency will be difficult to enter the big exchanger, I prefer to buy in exchange than follow ico

You follow the progress of the ico during their sale and invest when they enter market, most ico are scam that wont list on good exchange after ico completed.

My friend told me that thing, he said "it much better to buy after the crowd sale and buy from all dumper bounty hunter in forkdelta and other site". Which is good if you have a good amount of capital, but be careful on what you choose. Hope I add a good idea some how.

The best way to profit from ICO is to invest into ideas which are already turned into projects. It is important to choose a project which is aimed at solving real-life issues. If you are afraid investing, start from participating in bounty campaigns. You can invest during Ivo stage and then buy more on exchange, if the project is successful.

Personally, I prefer to buy already on the exchange because many coins do not reach the exchanges and if they reach then traded on illiquid exchanges without a large turnover, and so the coin is quickly drained

For the current market situation, i think to buy in the market is better than to buy during ICO although many bonuses are promised during ICO because we will never know the token we bought will become a potential token that interested by many people and continue to growth in the future or eventually become a scam token because it is not valuable anymore. Also the price when we buy in the market is usually cheaper than ICO since a lot of bounty participants will sell their tokens that might cause the price will down.

It is worth seeing the price on the market, so ICO . Where it will be more profitable there and buy . Prices can be very different from each other .
