What do you think? Can governments kill Bitcoin and replace it with their own digital/crypto currency?

I don't think so. No one owns the blockchain, and that is where the heart of bitcoins is located. Without the blockchain, bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies are dead as well. So we might want to protect the blockchain for whoever controls the blockchain has complete control over cryptocurrency.
You're wrong mate and we should be thankful that not every other government are like Chinese government because if every countries government place ban on bitcoin and other crypto currency that the doomsday of crypto currency.

Yes government can kill bitcoin in the way how they want to do it for example if there no more people who are appreciating bitcoin they can kill it easily

In fact, it is very easy for the government to eliminate Bitcoin! Close all trading institutions including exchanges and wallets. Fully block the wording of Bitcoin above the search engine and the rest of the Lenovo extensions of Bitcoin
There are many other ways as well by countering the people for using the bitcoin, but why would governments do that. In fact, there are a lot of countries where a lot of people are involved in the trade related to the crypto currencies and if the governments are going to do anything against them, then surely they will face the pressure from the public. So in my opinion, no government of any democratic country will finish the crypto from their country with such a hard stance.

I really don't think that government can kill bitcoin because as you can see, the bitcoin is anonymous. However, the power of government is useful when it comes in digital currency because they can ban the transactions of bitcoins in their country which cannot be used by the citizens/people of their country. In addition, when it comes in replacing bitcoin, I think it will take a long time to be replaced.

I guess government have nothing to do with bitcoin yet they are really a big part of it, still they have no stand with it.  Nobody owns bitcoin.  What we have right now are base on peoples wants not any ones. We are acrually part of bitcoin for what is happening on it or what may happen.

I do not think so. because bitcoin is anymous that can not be detected by anyone. although there are many actions to stop bitcoin, but bitcoin for the future will always live and find its own way to always exist. so do not be afraid to invest in bitcoin.

And we all know that government has the power to kill bitcoin operation, and hopelly government would not be able to do that kind of actions.

Like looking at the aspect of BTC's legality, which is often attributed to location or place, in short, in a global context it is both legal and illegal, and in specific place it could be solely legal or illegal. This is the same thing for your query, on a global context it is both thriving and banned, depending on a the place. It will never be banned, not unless the entire Governments that constitute every single nation on the planet, unite and vote together to totally ban the bitcoin. But until that International consensus from all governments it would be impossible to ban or kill the bitcoin, although it might be banned in some nations, not all nations would. so that would depend on a global consensus from all governments, a single government could, but that doesn't mean it  is the case for every single nation.

Can. The Government had the authority in taking decisions everything problem in her country. Government decisions are absolute and not bother to sue by anyone.
You are definitely right about that. Yes the government can kill bitcoin because they have the power to do so.
The government cant kill bitcoin but they can regulate bitcoin. It will be very hard to regulate bitcoin. If government banned or regulate bitcoin in their country. Investor from that country shift to another country and try to invest their or use VPN. No one is going to kill bitcoin nor government. Bitcoin is future money they all are just feared from bitcoin.

No government cant completely ban the use of bitcoin because it is helping common people in becoming financially stable. If the public of a particular state goes in complete favor of bitcoin, the government cannot do the mistake of going against the will of public. Democratic states at least cannot do so or the consequences would not be easy to bear. I am sure that soon more and more countries are going to declare it legal for their people.

Governments don't want to eliminate Bitcoin deliberately. They all see the benefits that cryptocurrencies bring and they want to profit from this also. That's why the G20 will discuss cryptocurrencies this month. This will result in worldwide regulations and that could be the end of decentralized currencies.

there are lots of countries trying to introduce their virtual currencies. they are also trying to follow the procedure of bitcoin technology. but, i think that this is really impossible to catch the bitcoin market, because, bitcoin is not only exist in some countries but also in all countries and it is same in any place.so there is no barrier and no restriction for transaction. so, its not a financial treat at all, but, bitcoin will be gone high if more currencies come out in crypo world.

I dont think that government can kill bitcoin because bitcoin is not under by the government so they cant control it the reason why they ban bitcoin but still bitcoin is unstoppable because many people are investing on it even though its a little bit risky. They want it to be taxed and we should pay fees and we do not want it to happen because if they take over control, there will be limits then.

I think if the G8 countries decide to kill bitcoin they will...  then a Bitcoin might be for 0.000001 USD....    the real hardcore bitcoin fans will still play with it (just like Elvis hardcore fans who are still alive) but the world will be done with it....

As far as block chain technology is concerned the government can not be able to kill bitcoin. They can only come up with their own digital coin they will be dead on arrival because they would want to control and manipulate it.
