it is true, and even now crypto is still only used as an investment asset, not as a tool of transactions, although some have been using it even in limited numbers. will crypto within the next 5 years grow as a digital currency used as a legitimate payment instrument for all countries? because this is a technology that continues to grow all nobody knows what happen 5 know ahead.

I am not sure how big changes crypto needs to undertake in order to be a suitable currency globally, but most likely that is the direction we are heading.

That guy is heavily invested in crypto so he is biased. A more realistic scenario is crypto within 5 years to have decent market adoption like 10-20% of the current Fiat/plastic cards use.

Along with that there will be real life businesses/services based on blockchain like the ones from Vechan/IOTA etc or tokenization of the stock market.
 
Ofc even 10-20% is huge if it comes true since the current fiat market is currently estimated at 70 trillions (300 times bigger than the current crypto market cap). So a 10-20% adoption would lead in a 5 year market cap rise of 30-60 times to what we have now.

Five years later, Ilon Mask promised to create a new city on Mars in which people will live, so it is not surprising that during this time something like the fact that crypto-currencies will be used by all people on the planet can occur. Although of course I doubt that this will happen so quickly.
