SCAM number 2

Bitmain like Baikal were mining with X3 monero to death, and now that Cryptonight coins are forking (switching algo) they are getting rid of the useless equipment.

What do you think Bitmain and Baikal the normal people out there will buy your garbage because you named it bitmain ? LOL

To make it more easy for people to understand I will give an example:
1.I have a tomato can that costs $4 and I opened it and I ate it
2. Instead to through the tomato can to the garbage that has value $0, I am doing this
3. I named the tomato can with a sticker 'BITMAIN or BAIKAL ' and I list it for sale as premium product
4. And I am selling the empty tomato can for $100 to people ....
5. Nice business right ?

I strongly suspect this was going on as well for Baikal.

In the case of Bitmain, I suspect their hand was forced because Baikal beat them to the punch and Monero announced they would hard fork.

Bitmain appears to be still in development of their asic, hence the "conservative" hashrate estimates on the production miner but they needed to get this out for pre-order to try and capitalize before the upcoming Cryptonight forks. People that don't know any better will still buy and some people with tons of money, will buy anyways in hopes that the gamble pays off.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bitmain or someone stands up their own pool and forks XMR so these asics will still work after the core XMR chain forks to a revised algo
(Disclaimer: This is purely speculation or "conspiracy theory" on my part and I have no inside knowledge that indicates any such activity will happen, it's just a gut feeling)

everybody who buys this is just financing their next batch for cryptonight v7

if monero doesnt change algo every month cryptonight is dead for gpu mining

It's not still in development. It's more bullshit and lies from shitmain. They're masters of deception. They've been mining with these for a long time. They just want people to think they haven't been.

Wouldn't surprise me to see bitmain pull another bcash. "Monero Cash.." LOL. It'll be futile, though.

Yeah I wonder how quickly the GPU mining software developers will be able to update their miners to support revised algos.

It could become a cluster fuck and really hurt the community because you'll have people trying to mine everywhere with GPU's that are running old versions of the mining software which is one of the reasons why I suspect someone will fork XMR if they revise the algo with their own core fork.

Yup, this wouldn't surprise me either.

It takes A LOT longer to design and tape out new chips. Changing algos every 6 months as planned is more than enough to kill cryptonight ASICs.

Claymore has already indicated that he's working on updating his miner for V7. If miners can't be arsed to keep up with updated mining software, fuck 'em.

Bitmain Recent Hit list
=====================
RIP.... x11
RIP.... SIA
[Pending] RIP.... CryptoNight

They are like the Mafia. LOL. I think they want to release miners to stomp their competitors and let the world be known that they are the ONLY crypto manufacturing company and do not mess with them.

More like RIP Cryptonight ASICs. They're completely useless come the end of March thanks to the algo change.

This can be a reason for hackers to attach XMR ! If bitmain will own the 51% of the network ,,, good bye security ,, welcome to bitmain attack
Don't forget what happen to Antpool (bitmain),, hacker attack from bitmain to their own pool .... same like nicehash ,,, they hacked themselves

I think Bitmain is grabbing at straws trying to find the next Asic empire that they can monopolize like SHA-256. The only way to do that is to diversify and keep pressure on your competition which they seem to do at every turn these days. I think this move is purely to keep Baikal down.

asic vs gpu

just remember asic = shit service when gear breaks.
gpu = real warranties when gear breaks.

By reading all of the posts I got to conclusion that there is no one here that thinks this is a good investment. Only if that is the case and no one except few people buy them this could be profitable. Because I dont know how many they plan to produce, and to sell.. Does anyone know?

It doesn't matter how many they sell. They've been produced already for many months, mining away in their farms. They haven't been in production for a long time now, and never will be again. There is no scenario where either of these pay for themselves, much less make profit. These machines will have nothing to mine in 2 weeks once Monero changes algorithms making these obsolete.
