There are 7 billion people in the world. As of June 2017, 51% of the world's population has internet access. So, that comes between 3 to 3.5 billion people. Now, among this, there are people who have heard about bitcoin i.e. they only know there is something called bitcoin. Having knowledge about bitcoin i.e. what it actually is and how it is used, is known to lesser people. And the people actually trading or owning bitcoins is less than that. It is supposed from the number of bitcoin wallets in existence that the number of people investing/trading in cryptocurrency is about 50 million.

only few of people in my country knows exactly what is bitcoin for, i would say that only around 1% because some of them only heard bitcoin but have not been encounter in internet. they only know bitcoin as a scam and hack. and some of them are curious and does not want to get involve.

Due to the pseudo-anonymous nature of bitcoin, it is difficult to accurately determine the number of bitcoin users around the world. Nonetheless, there is data that can give you a rough estimate of how many individual bitcoin users there actually are.

Currently, there are almost 28.5 million bitcoin wallets that hold more than 0.001 BTC according to data compiled by Bitinfocharts.com. However, most bitcoin users have several bitcoin wallets and use multiple wallet addresses to increase their financial privacy when transacting in bitcoin. Hence, the number of bitcoin users is likely less than 28.5 million.

The most popular bitcoin wallet and exchange provider, Coinbase, reportedly has over 13 million users, which would suggest that the number of bitcoin users is somewhere between 13 million and 28.5 million. Given that Coinbase is available in 32 countries and that it has emerged as the go-to bitcoin wallet for newcomers, its user base number gives a better indication of how many users there are than purely analyzing wallet addresses.

Having said that, among the countries that are not serviced by Coinbase are some of the largest bitcoin economies such as China, South Korea, and Japan. Additionally, no bitcoin users in South America or Africa can use the company’s service. Given the growing number of bitcoin users in Asia, Africa, and South America who are using other wallet providers, the number of bitcoin users has to be much higher than Coinbase’s 13 million.

Much of what they know about bitcoin, surely some people are better at knowing rather than knowing it and eventually being called arrogant new members. I also started to know the crypto world with theory first.

According to certain statistics, there is only 1% people amongst all the people living in this world who are having some awareness regarding this whole concept of crypto currencies and are investing their money into it for the sake of having greater money in their accounts which can then help them in having some better living. This number is increasing but still it is a very time taking process and will take lot of time.

I often see a lot of social media accounts discussing about bitcoin nowadays as compared to the past, so I would say the users in the bitcoin community have surely grown up in numbers, and this is actually good for the development of bitcoin in the long term.

Since there is no legal framework yet for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies, we don't have the statistics yet regarding the people who have information about Bitcoin. However, considering the data of Bitcoin exchange websites, I don't think that more than 10% of world's population knows about Bitcoin at this stage but thanks to media and price rally that people are now searching about Bitcoin on the internet.

Everyday bitcoin popularity is increasing, well i don't know how many people know about bitcoin but i'm sure that it will not reach half of the population all over the world there's still a lot of countries that is undeveloped and even those countries that is well develop with technology is not well informed with bitcoin, but someday i know that bitcoin will be known all over the world.

...It's possible!   bitcoin is always increasing of its popularity because of people who had knowledge already and I think they are able to tell anyone who are close in relationship like; family, friends, neighbors and love ones. But to those other people in every country who have undeveloped with technology they are the lack of knowledge about bitcoin. I guess it is possible to be known in  the world, if everyone is interested.

Imo it is hard to calculate that but for me it is around only 10% of all population. Crypto is future so that amount will only grow and hopefully in 2025 it will be around 50%.

To hard to calculate really since theirs no accurate statistic which can point out the real numbers of crypto users around the world, But for me I really think that we are on few percentage interms of adoption since if you look at your neighborhood and ask about bitcoins and crypto's for sure they will turn you down since they doesn't know about the crypto technology.

I am also unaware of the exact percentage of world population that is already aware of bitcoin but one thing that I can say with hundred percent certainty is that the number of people who are investing in bitcoin and know about it is definitely increasing with the passage of time.

More people talk about bitcoin now. As it is also the future of money so one day the whole world is destined to discover about bitcoin.

i don't know if how many people in this world know about bitcoin,because some people hate bitcoin because they do not know what is bitcoin all about,mostly in our country is one of the many people know bitcoin,i ask my friends in USA about bitcoin they still don't know bitcoin so how can we count on it.if the others don't know what is bitcoin.

maybe some of our investor know about this or our manager they know how many people in this world know about bitcoin,but for me as a beginner it is so hard to predict.i just keep on working in bitcoin no matter how many bitcoin lovers like me who are joining right now.

In my own statistic computation,i thinks 30%  of all population in the whole world ,knows about bitcoin  and 70% of them is not knows or need to educate of what is this cryptocurrency investment,and what is the purpose of this in our economic growth.actually why this the result of my comparatio,because not at all over the world  is benefited this kind of new technology,because there are some country like those who belong in the third world nation,is given a chance to have there own digital currency  bussiness.

If you're asking the percentage of people in the world who know what bitcoin is, I would estimate: maybe around 20 million users and it will continue to grow by year to year!!

I know, that not more than 5 percent of the world's population. Very few people have invested in cryptocurrencies, so we are still very far from the bubble. Capitalization is still very small.

I don't know how many people around the world know about bitcoin. And yup i think its only 10 or 15% i guess. The most common source of information about bitcoin is through websites, and not all can access the computer/gadgets or internet, and that's one of the many reasons why there are only small number of people who are aware about it.  Just like for example here on the island where i live, only 10 out of 100 persons know or heard about bitcoin. And most of those people are the young ones (mostly students). Young ones spend most of their time in front of computer or other gadgets surfing the internet. Some are hesitant to learn or know what a bitcoin is because of the news that they heard that its a scam, even if its not. From that 10-15%, i think only 10% knows a lot about bitcoin, and the rest is just starting to learn about it. What's sad about this is that, some of them see bitcoin as a source of income, but the real reason behind its development is to make transactions fast and easy with the aid of the blockchain technology, and some doesn't even care about it, because they only focus their selves on earning or gaining big profit.

Bitcoin became popular when its price swings up by 2013. By then, many people know bitcoin already but most of them don't know what it is. Maybe they are not interested because it is not their usual currency to use for.
Maybe 20% of the total population in the world knows bitcoin but some of them is not yet interested because they really don't know what it is but they heard it most of the time.

It became popular indeed but actually I havent read any calculation of percentage the exact rate. Because daily their is for sure who adapts bitcoin because of the benefits it can offer. Even here in my country bitcoin doesnt know about it, so their is no exact rate or percentage who knows about bitcoin.

I think there are around 40% of people worldwide who knows about Bitcoin and other digital currencies because based on my family, most of my family members know about it. And even my relatives from other countries knows Bitcoin as well, in fact I have an uncle who is currently residing in Sweden have a friend who says he was going to put up a project somewhat like an ICO based in Sweden.

Yes the percentage of knowing people about bitcoin was very low it is because of the trust about bitcoin is still very low so the people are don’t judge it is not right decision bitcoin is one of the life changer we can use it now for our good future.
