there is no such thing as good amount in investing into crypto.
the thing is, if you are investing, you are also facing the risk of losing your own money, its a gamble. that's why they say that "invest what you can afford to lose."
you dont have to start with big amount of money if you dont have enough knowledge.

Maybe you are right it is a skill based gamble and your luck also matters in trading. yes to start trading there is no limit you can start with how much you can afford and it also depends on how much you have knowledge on trading. without having proper knowledge simply don't invest and lose your money.

Unlimited amount of money can be invested and at the same time you could invest something meagre as well. These extreme spectrum of investment is what make cryptocurrency unique. Everyone and anyone can go into the market with any amount of fund. There is no limit placed on anybody!

Really you should just invest an amount you'd be willing to lose, that way you won't be too disappointed.

What is a good amount to start with when investing into crypto?

I see lots of posts about “I have $100 / $200, what should I buy” and most of the time the answers are with that amount just invest in an ICO etc etc.

I would be interested to know what people here consider a good starting amount to invest...and I know the basics of not investing more than you can afford to loose but for arguements sake, what’s a good number to start with?

I’m not so much interested from a whale perspective of investing like $500k or $1mill, more so the normal everyday average joe male/female investor who wants to dabble in the crypto market. Would it be $1k, $2k, $5k, $10k, $20k etc? People new to the game or interested to start investing in this space may find this useful so they know a rough number which would be a good starting point before turning  that into riches (the obvious dream).

For reference I initially started with about $3k (it’s not loads but it was a start) and over time I’ve added more and more (it gets addicting) into the pot as and when I have the money to spend and when the time seems good to buy.

In my opinion the best amount to invest is one that will not affect your financial condition. If it happens to lose your investment, it should not negatively affect you or
generally speaking, invest as much as you can lose.  Smiley

it depends on how much money you have. for example if you got 2000usd every month and all your expenses is 1000usd, another 1000usd is an extra money. you can invest 500usd to altcoins or bitcoin. another 500usd is for your emergency purposes. but before investing put some research first of what coin you like to invest with.

every ico gives a minimum requirement of altcoin purchase so we can follow it by buying a number of minimum limits and I think if with $ 100 can not follow ico

I think to start investing on crypto is on depending on our funds. Its much better to using our idle money to investing on crypto and not using borrowing money. Using idle money can make us more relax and enjoy and price have high volatile

Investing is associated with risks of course, but risk is not total loss, it can be deposit decreasing but not at all.
I think best decision is to invest free money - so if you got in difficult situation you will be able to wait for situation to get better. That helps to keep patience

I think the minimum investment that fits is 100 $
if it is true to invest in a good ico, it will return 10x of capital.

Most of the ICOs have this minimum of $100 for investing on their coin so in this case look for a best or have a better potential to succeed in the near future with a price that is also promising. Like this ICO which is called Streamity, you can invest with this coin while it has a privileges for those who wants to invest with them like a bonus coins for a minimum purchase.

As many have stated before me, there is only one rule on how much to invest:
Only invest the amount you can afford to lose.

I guess it cannot be overstated. Try remembering dot-com bubble. Same thing here. Most of the coins we see today will not exist in a couple of years. Only few will remain. Chances of losing your investment are high. If you can handle losing $10, then that's your ideal amount to invest. If you earn $100K a week, I guess $100K is a great starting point.

I started with $10 because that's the amount I can only afford at that time, I dont have work yet and just follow my friend's advice to try out investing in cryptos. Honestly investing with just a small amount is not worth it because you cant gain good profit. For me ideally the good amount to start investing is $200 and above, so you can buy different coins and not just btc, its profitable to have more coins in your portfolio but dont expect too much because investing is risky.

This is the amount that will allow you to feel free in the market and not choose between investing in shitkoins or any small coins. But on the other hand, it is these coins that can show significant growth, unlike the top coins.

It is up to you my friend, investing is risky too but worth it if you earn. For me, when you start investment you should have a funds for it or budget you do not have to invest a big amount and all your money invest in affordable money only, try a $25 or $50 if you want. Good luck

There are just three key points investing into crypto:
1-Invest only into the stuff you understand
2-Remember that you don't understand most of the stuff even if you think you do
3-Diversify

As for me any amount is suitable for investment. There can not be common standards, because each person has a different level of wealth. I think that you can start with 100 dollars. This amount is not so pity to lose. But thanks to investment, you will get experience and will be able to work with large sums.

You can invest any amount as long as it is the money that you can afford to lose, since market is not stable we can't foresee what will happen in the future. It is also the amount other than your emergency fund, because it cannot be withdrawn anytime when you need it.

First of all invest your sleeping money into Crypto World. You can take start from $1k,using your skills you can multiple your investment. At present market is still under dip, good time to buy following coin in ratio as.

1.60% into BTC
2.25% into ETH
3.15% into NEO,ADA,XPR,IOTA.
If you are skillful trader you can also engage in day trading otherwise you can hold your investment as well.In this way reinvest your profit into BTC,ETH you can multiple your investment and get higher return.
