Well, we'll know if the Zetas get involved in Bitcoin, because of the sudden epidemic of a mysterious illness that causes the head to separate from the body.
I bet cartel and gang involvement is why the government is so scared. They are always looking for ways to make money, and the SR made it more appealing. I'm sure they've been using coins from the beginning. |

Now that the Silk Road is gone, Bitcoin is a viable Christmas present. You can get them for your kids, and they can spend them anywhere on the internet. But not to buy crack  And it's the gift card where "If you by it now, it will probably be worth more by Christmas" how many other giftcards can say that? Spread the word I just wanted to post on behalf of the irony. Lol. Carry on. |

Thanks for all the positive comments and yes I agree I think with the Silkroad going away the PR of Bitcoin has improved and is starting to take shape as a honest useful payment system |

The government is probably gonna use the coins to destroy bitcoin by selling them all at once. That will lower the price a "lot"

The general point being how insignificant the takedown of SR was to the value of BTC.
While it is/was a big news story, it was not a big BTC financial event.

That certainly put the lie to the idea that "Bitcoin isn't for anything but buying drugs and illegal porn." Shutting down the two largest sources of that barely touched the price. |

The closure of SR was actually a very beneficial thing for Bitcoin. The less illegal stuff the better.
No, that's probably because the void left by SR was quickly filled by SMP and BMR, it's mostly business as usual in terms of the "illegal stuff" market. |
