I am surprised at this. How could that be possible. I feel if someone had hacked your account, the person would not have transfered just the CS, he would have also transfered other tokens along. I feel something else that is not yet clear happened. Peradventure it was actually the work of an hacker, then i would advise you transfer all that you have bout of that wallet, to another safe wallet and do not use that wallet again.

No,you wont get hacked if you have good security with your computer install metamask extension which blocks phishing sites in your browser, install antivirus and anti malware softwares, use hardwallets like trezor or ledger so that you wont have any issues, because these are the things wou will need if you have big amounts of assets in your wallet.

It happen to me as well. I dont really know exactly how it happen. Maybe you accidentally give your private key or whatever access you use on MEW. If this only happen on your 1 MEW account then that might be the also reason I can thinkn of. No one is safe to be honest.

To Pity this is simply impossible. You definitely need to change the wallet and check the laptop for viruses and many antivirus programs ...

in my opinion, use 2 different files to save your address and key 1 file for address 1 file for key and don't save both files at same folder in computer or laptop now u make a new wallet the previous loss is not recoverable

Tell us what was your activities with your mew so we can at least guess what got your mew compromised. There are lots of ways your private keys could have been compromised like you signing in an airdrop and accidentally giving private keys instead of address or your computer was hacked. Did you log in using links from phising emails?
There is nothing you can do with the address now that it is compromised. It is better to move all your funds to a new wallet and do a better security on the new one.

I'm beginning to think the option of purchasing insured hardware wallets should be mandatory as part of any future regulations. If we want broader adoption by the masses, the risk of loss or theft of funds must be reduced.

You got phished probably you dont have hardwallet or atleast metamask extension in your browser beause if you did have these two you wont get hacked by these phishing sites, are you sure your private keys are safe? you should have installed anti virus and anti malware softwares so that you computer will be well protected from these viruses and malwares.

You wont get hacked if you did installed these basic things, anti virus + malwarebytes ,hardwallet which will give you an extra protection if your computer or unit has been compromised already because of its security future the hackers wont have any chance of getting your private keys, metamask extension that will encrypt your private keys when you are using decentralized exchanges.

Your private keys were compromised,or your computer has some malwares, that is why it is recommended to have an extra protection using hardware wallets, and you should have installed metamask extension because these extension will block or prompt you from entering a potential phishing site you will be saved from these malicious website if you have installed it.

Maybe your computer has virus others can compromised with it, other than that maybe you'll wrongly input your private key in some fill outs like airdrop or etc etc, the problem lies within your irresposibility to protect your privatekey and/or .dat file because those only can access your mew.

Did you participate in the pundi - x token swap?
I saw #2 in the instructions mentioned something about protecting your private keys since the wallet would be receiving the swapped tokens directly.

Nope you arent, but your private keys are compromised, that is why your funds were stolen and transfered to another mew you probably got phised by these phishing sites and you could have save from these sites if you have installed metamask extension.Use hardwallet because its the most secured wallet existing today and you should be using one to prevent these hacks.

I hope you're confusing something. If not i will look for new wallet. So MyEtherWallet is the most comfortable wallet for me and I use it more then half a year and still haven't any problems.

I have tokens for one week. I will always have a lot of tabs opened in my chrome so I don't remember the susceptive activities while opening the MEW wallet. I think I installed a couple of chrome plugins recently. Do you think one of the plugin tracking MEW info? I also noticed the person transfer 0.018 ether to this address https://etherscan.io/address/0xf565adb21e7ea1c7fd3de8f4f29421e96c0659f2 and then transferred to binance wallet. There are some possibilities. 1 you are putting your privatekey in the phishing site. 2 Your extension was having a trouble because it's relied on 3rd party it can be used to attack those were installing the extension. 3 you might put your privatekey when you are joining in the airdrop 4 you getting pished by keylogger.

You arent! because mew wallet wont be compromised if your private keys are safely keep but in your case it is your fault of not having hardwallet or metamask extension atleast so that these phishing website wont have anychance to getting your keys when you are transacting into decentralized exchanges like etherdelta or fork delta.

You wont get phished when you have installed metamask extension it is recommended by the mew team because it blocks those phishing sites that will attempt to get your private keys,it will prompt you from getting hacked plus you can use your hardwallet with your metamask and mew wallet that is what you need to do in the future.

I have always checked the MEW website name before entering the key. I stored the key google keep always copy the key & paste it into MEW. The thing I don't understand is how did they get the key from google keep. It is my fault to not to have metamask & hardware wallet. I thought I would get small airdrop amounts so nobody would care about those tokens since those do not have much value.

Nope, your private keys are compromised its either you are a victim of phishing sites which you can be prevented when you have used metamask extension that blocks malicious website and potential phishing sites,or your computer has been infected by some malware or viruses which is why your keys are stolen and used to transfer your coins to their's.
