i dont think it would be necessary as long as you choose the good coin atleast on top 10 or top 20 coin. But its quite good and more safe if you diversify your holdings so there will be little chance for you to lose all of your money cause of bankrupt that might happen to the coin that you hold and its really good to diversify cause somehow there will be a coin that going down and going up at the time and you can sell it when its come to good condition and keep hold if its not.

Of course if you dont want to get rekt you will need to difersify or to spread your money into several investments,not a good idea to get all in into one single coin because it could be the reason why you will lose a lot of money because if that coin will fail you are done!
