I think this can help to ease up those confusion regarding the ownership of FUN token Freebitco.in Acquires $3.75 Billion FUN Tokens This means they have control of that token.

They also heavily promoted that on many occasions. So those bad situation happens on this token reflects on how awful the company handling it.

Also what I know their case on Netherlands still exist or ongoing. Last time I read on some articles that they already paid $280k penalty and this shutdown happen is just a compliance while they are still facing those legal processes.

As far as I know, he is not a diplomat, he is a movie producer living in Nigeria.

The person who is the alleged owner of FreeBitco.in only has a minor government title, given by a small island nation, that does not give him full diplomatic immunity. They are only able to scam so openly, I believe, because they are targeting people from third world countries who don’t have the means to form a strong legal case.

They are also mostly stealing small amounts. It might add up to a lot, but individually the average loss isn’t great enough to fight it beyond just giving them poor reviews.

In theory, it was because they used those deposits to finance their Bitcoin mining operations, and they could pay the 4% out of the mining profits. There was a message saying that on the page when you were going to make the deposit. It worked for many years when things were going well, and when mining hadn't become so centralized yet, so I suppose it must have been true.

I was talking about the original owner wetsuit and a different person who has been involved in FreeBitco.in and FUNToken. TheQuin didn’t mention an ownership change. It was their customer service account that said TheQuin was working in a different department now.

They specifically mentioned that the site has not changed ownership. The CSFBC account did lie about many things, so that may not be true, but there are still people who were working with the original owner that are still involved. I will try to post more specific details in the investigation thread when I have the time.

After reviewing some recent posts, I want to clarify that FreeBitco remains under the same ownership and management, and no such changes have taken place.
We understand that some concerns have been raised, and while we welcome constructive discussions, speculation and misinformation can create unnecessary confusion. As mentioned previously, The Quin has different responsibilities under a different department and therefore no longer participates in this forum.

I also remember that message in their yield page, they explicitly said the free Bitcoin they used to give away hourly to users also came from their mining operations. I recall they even provided some block hashes as proof of their mining activities.
There have been some people who have suggested in this thread that their mining operations were a lie in order to keep investors calm.

They should have adjusted down that APY when things were not going as smoothly...
