Are you still discussing this topic?
The Native Americans are credited with the saying, "The horse is dead - get off!"
What does that mean?
This phrase means that you need to stop hopeless endeavors, projects, or relationships in time, ones that will no longer yield results.
How people act in practice
Instead of letting go of a dead horse, people often do the following:
They convince themselves that there’s still hope.
They beat the horse harder in the hope of making it run.
They say, "We’ve always ridden this way", justifying their habitual actions.
They form committees to study dead horses.
They change riders or buy a new whip.

Here we have a classic "dead horse" situation! I’m sorry if anyone is still actually deluding themselves with the hope of getting their money back....

You are not wrong with the psychological projection you have described of how freebitco.in customers expectations have been through the years since when the casino went dark on them.

I have taken my time to go through few pages in this thread  and I agree it would have been better long ago that this thread got buried and people whose money are still held in the casino get over it gradually. But given it that this thread continue to be active with discussions, their hopes  for a spectacle outcome remain sustained.

I get why you believe we should stop talking about this topic and move onto something completely different, and assume this money is lost forever. However, I have this personal point of view on how the Bitcoin community is not supposed to wipe under the rug situations like this one and forget about millions of dollars being stripped off thousands or millions of people.

By continuing to talk about this scam, we are doing exactly the opposite of what scammers want. They want us to move on.
I have not personally lost money to Freebitcoin, but I feel still compelled to talk about this because of outrageous it is.
