Such reasoning could also come from people who lost some money to these scammers, they want to get their money back, but at the same time they think of all the obstacles and rocks in the path which may make all the ordeal difficult for them. It is like a mechanism to try to convince themselves to save their own time and energy.

Simply because it doesn't worth the time that will be spent in a hopeless try. It us just like gambling with a very poor odd. Maybe for those who lost big amounts of money but most likely they are resident in a legislation that doesn't recognize cryptocurrencies neither gambling as well. I would never advice anybody to spend more efforts and time with a scam casino because he might lose more than what he has already lost. Believe me, it doesn't worth the try.

It's probably more cost benefit to focus energy and time recovering that money working on something else, instead of expecting to recover it from the scammer, even more considering the physical barriers and obstacles implied along a possible judicial litigation. If it's already hard enough when being scammed by regulated companies, now imagine being scammed by an anonymous website on the internet.

I've been already scammed several times in different occasions, and I only felt in peace once I left those situations behind and delivered the scammer to the hands of destiny. Don't keep thinking about what is lost, rather think about what you can still earn from now on. And of course, be more careful with your money now, taking into consideration past negative experiences and the learnship acquired through them.

This is one of the saddest part here. Usually many of their victims just decide to move on, because they don't want to undergo those hassle process and just want to just continue to their natural activities on other casino.

With this many scams like them can get away with the consequences and those few people have huge balance left. Usually starting to lose their morale seeing there are only few people fighting to get their refunds from those platform which scams them.

Lesson to learn from those scams is not to put huge funds on any casinos, to avoid experiencing same problems once the reputable casino we know suddenly pull another scam.

Well, I have never been personally scammed in my life. But I have been close to fall for scams, putting Bitcoin at risk.
I have seen people around me getting scammed, family member included, and it is quite difficult to process... To see people you care about to cry over money which has been striped off them.

Though, in the case I got scammed, I know I would feel extremely depressed for a while but I would have no path besides to do what you have already done, and move forward.

Money can be recovered, but time and health cannot be recovered.
In the case of Freebitcoin, the scam has been so big and blatant than there is a good chance scammers won't get away with it so easily.

If a person wants to achieve a goal, they look for ways to do so,  if a person talks about a goal but doesn’t actually want to achieve it, they look for excuses to explain why they won’t be able to do it....

I feel identified. I think I have been in such situations in the past in which I have wanted to do something, but I end up over-thinkinf and explaining myself why I may not be able to get what I want and why it would be logical not to even try.

I am not a psychologist, but that is what it feels like, in my opinion.

I can't say for sure whether this issue falls under psychology or something else, but I can say this: it's common to most people. And I'm no exception either  Grin
At the very least, I used to take that approach quite often in the past. After certain events, I realized that it's extremely ineffective!
Now I make decisions based purely on risk assessment, not on whether something is "doable or not, difficult or easy". I highly recommend this approach!

Even for the current situation, compare the approaches:
"Looking for reasons why I won’t do it" : immunity, we don’t know who they are, they’re in another country, no one will come looking for them, …
"Risk assessment”: Based on real risks - even if I spend time and effort, I probably won’t get a result.

Doesn’t the truth look different this way?
