Looks like they are back under https://dropbtc.io/

Quite ironic they are pretty much doing the same any other scam casino would do once everything goes south and they are exposed; to come back with a completely different name, so they can continue to scam people... i guess they were not getting enough deposits with their already stained name...

That's interesting. Now I'm wondering if this site was created by the same people who ran freebitco.in after pulling off the exit scam, or if it was someone else—or a group of people—who took advantage of the vacuum left after the site had been offline for several weeks to set up an identical site in an attempt to lure unsuspecting users. I'd bet on the latter. Without knowing for sure, the people running freebitco.in have probably made off with a lot of money and don't need to get into another mess to make more.

In any case, investing any amount of money on this new site is somewhat risky.

That is truly suspicious and looking at Whois https://www.whois.com/whois/dropbtc.io that site is newly registered.

So its clear scam. I don't believe much on review sites, but they have bad assessment towards this site https://www.scam-detector.com/validator/dropbtc-io-review

Also if you think about it, if freebitco.in want to comeback. For sure that they won't create a casino that have similar design with their old scam site.

I also have this doubts that maybe, there's a insane scammer tries to take advantage on the situation. Then either they want people to fall from their fake site or maybe they offer help for possible funds recovery then ask for certain payment then scam those people tried to avail their services.

Exactly, and they will not not use the same registration and license company and everything will be different but the mindset will still be the same to scam people and run away. As for the casino reviews sites. If the players go there to make the reviews by themselves, it might be true from their personal experiences but if the reviews are from the company then, we will see praise singers.

Could you please share the article ? I think it is important you do so, as there is knowledge everyone in this thread would like to have at their disposal. This is the first time I have hard about that service, and the fact they appeared at the same time freebitcoin went offline seems to be quite a big red flag.

Sorry it was just a general thing about the FBC site being down and they assumed they are managing the new sites as there is a couple different coins.

https://www.earnenews.com/2026/08/legacy-trust-trap-freebitcoin-scam.html?m=1

But what got me was this trust pilot review for Dropbtc:

“ This is very helpful website but…
I was a freebitco.in user for more than 2 years. My old user ID was 1051380 and I had more than 12000 Fun coins in my account.
Now on Dropbtc.io, I am being asked for an old profile screenshot, but the old freebtco.in website is no longer accessible, so I cannot provide it.
Please provide an alternative verification method for genuine old user and help recover our old main balance and old fun coin balance”

Here’s some missed news this week. Kinda big in my opinion.
You’ll need to translate the page

https://www.casinonieuws.nl/online/ksa-verbeurt-dwangsom-van-e-280-000-van-freebitco-in-fbc-bv/

“This week, the Dutch Gambling Authority (Ksa) published its enforcement decision against FBC B.V., the operator of the website freebitco.in. In December 2024, FBC was issued an order subject to a penalty of €280,000, rising to a maximum of €840,000. According to the Gambling Authority, the order was not fully complied with, and it has therefore decided to collect €280,000.”

Isn't Netherlands the way to go for those who were scammed? If there are users on that country, it must be simpler for them to prosecute freebitco.in from there.

Moreover, if authority is after freebitco.in, a representative of them must come publicly to give explanations. Linking all the points, it should be possible to find who is behind the operation, and then account him responsible for the scam.

Well, hope you have of easily recovering your fund by filing a lawsuit in Netherlands, reality isn't quite that sweet, bruh.

Fine imposed by regulator and refund for victim are not same thing.

€280,000 dwangsom that KSA is collecting for violation of illegal gambling regulation will go into the state treasury. It doesn't mean KSA is sitting at service desk ready to retrieve Bitcoin for ordinary user who fell victim to the scam. Lol.

Even though they operate on paper using shell or front companies, such as FBC B.V. in Netherlands or elsewhere, I think the actual operator usually remain hidden behind offshore or shell structure.

Many casino operator use crypto mixer to make tracking difficult and appoint nominal or dummy director to conceal actual ownership.

Consequently, if any local victim in Netherlands were to file any lawsuit then who would actually face the consequence? I do not think any real perpetrator will be exposed, it is more likely that a hired paper director will end up taking the fall.

It would seem Curaçao is more worried with collecting money from Freebitcoin (at least it's parent company) than actually bring those responsible ones before justice for scamming millions of people... That is disappointing.

Also, this makes me wonder whether the Curaçao authorities will also grant more licenses for those behind DROP BTC and other companies behind managed by the same administration of Freebitcoin. Common sense tells me they are going to avoid using Curaçao as license issuer, but gambling authorities there could not to care about all this and still issue and new license for them...

Order issued in Dec 2024 and they recognised that it wasn't fully complied with after close to 2 years? Seriously? Whatever the case, I don't see them being able to collect a single euro since Freebitco isn't in the mood to co-operate with anyone these days.

This would have mattered when they still cared about their global reputation, but not anymore. Smh!

if they are actually using a different name, yes, i think it would be a good idea to allow others to know these are just scammers seeking to clear their tracks so they can continue to scam in the long term.
Do they actually have some page on trustpilot yet? because assuming how new this new service of them is, i would have expected them not to have a trustpilot page yet.

Anyways, I have the hunch this new name and service of them won't last long until they try to run with all the money again and start again with a yet a new name.

ok, I've already been to Trustpilot and left my star there, thanks for knowing., but this dropBTC site wouldn't be the site they would migrate the database of good users who didn't steal the site, separating it from the bad users they would check it manually?f and etc... well, I just remembered that, and maybe they really did the other site but forgot to migrate the users., or, there were no good users and only the bad ones, and then they decided to take the balance of all of them manually after checking one by one manually! ohhh to the new "ShitDown Database"...hahaa...

Quote
If you are a genuine user, please do not worry - your funds are safe. We are currently in the process of sifting through genuine users and abusers which is taking much longer than expected because of our tens of millions of users.

As a part of this process, the website will be replaced by a shutdown page in the coming weeks and after that we shall start the process of migating genuine users to the new shutdown database where they will be able to login and initiate withdrawals of their balances.

We expect withdrawals to be enabled by early 2026. Unfortunately due to the tedious process of weeding through our large database, this is much longer than we are happy with but we have little choice other than going through each user account manually to seperate genuine users and abusers.

Dear BTC Talk Community,

⚠️ Our BTC wallet server experienced a crash and is currently resyncing.

Given the large size of the wallet and the huge number of transactions, this process usually takes some time.

We appreciate your patience while everything gets back to normal.

Best regards,
The FreeBitco.in Team

Understand, they are using the money of people like me who were robbed on freebitco in, to fund a new site.
Over time there will be several people trusting this dropbtc, and over time they will also lose money.
I have a screenshot of my account balance from my mother's account and from my uncle's account. I will report this site so that it goes offline in various means that I can.

....

There are millions of clients which have had their money withheld by those scammers, and keeping in mind the long trajectory of Freebitcoin, I would not be surprised there was an important percentage of gamblers who actually believed the words of the administration of this casino.

If we are realistic, I think there is still some chance for people to organize themselves and go after for those scammers.

If they are already having trouble to keep their domain up, it means people can stop pretending or lying to themselves and move onto action...

In this case, the problem can only be solved by fulfilling two conditions:
- joining forces,
- continuous efforts on all fronts.
It is possible to ignore one or two petitioners, but mass petitions and constant, unabating demands for the enforcement of legal rights will yield results.
I would also add the need to constantly inform the general public about the nature of the crime, the individuals involved, and other relevant information - information that will create very uncomfortable conditions for the criminals.

The biggest obstacle in this case is the same obstacle in other cryptocurrency cases of massive theft... People have seen several times how scammers get away with getting all the money and people quickly lose all hope and move on, it has happened with scams on YouTube, fishing scams and also with fake casinos. So victims of Freebitcoin have this pre-established idea on how dire and helpless this situation is... And I don't blame them.

This is a situation which plays in the advantage of those scammers and time also helps them.
I will leave my bad review on trust pilot so people know this new service is nothing more than the same scammers trying to wash their image so they can keep their theft.

All you have written is the true way to pursue this case legally if the victims want to the team up responsibly for this scam act to be brought to book. There are regions where scam like this can attract the government and law enforcement to take serious decisions on how to track the culprits that are in charge of the FreeBitco.in website even if it's gonna take months.

If the law does not bring these scammers to justice, there will be more casinos that would want to end up like this since they are only going to lose their reputation and make big money from taking advantage of their innocent users that are hoping to get their money back. Joint effort can consistently attract the attention of the government police to check the crime against innocent gamblers.

It’s a shame about this site—given how important it was to this forum and to the history of Bitcoin—to end up like this. This reminds me of 1xBit; I’m not exactly sure if they’ve had similar clone sites over the years like in this case, but they’ve for sure used similar tactics to lure in unsuspecting users. They set up a site, and once it’s clear it’s a scam, they either launch another one or spend a fortune on ads for new sites to attract fresh, unsuspecting victims to fleece.

So finally someone is behind the owners of freebitco.in now. Did they actually arrest the owner or are they still looking for him ?
Did they pay the fine mentioned in the previous posts ? Feels bad when such a reputed site turns up out to scam their users just like the other sites.
