They are still bringing up new FBC ads, too. I'm seeing their ads on sites that never had them before as part of things like Coinzilla, so there are still new campaigns being created to advertise them.
That makes no sense when the website has been down for the past two months. Someone must be truly careless to waste any money advertising them now. They may have had a “igned" budget, the funds may have been paid, and the contractor is simply fulfilling its obligations as an honest contractor- that does happen. Most likely, a refund wasn't provided for, or more likely, a refund agreement could help expose the fraudsters at FreeBitco.in.

You must have been very lucky to have removed your money before all those shits started happening. It will be very painful for those that must have left their thousands of dollars on the casino especially for players that like living their winnings on a casino until they make more money and ready to move their profits. There are more victims we don't know than the ones we know that have falling victims to the Freebitco casino.
That's what I am wondering. How many would be there who would have lost thousands of dollars on freebitco.in. Must have been a pain in the ass for them dealing with these scammers but who knows how many of them got impacted. I guess people on this forum would have at least took their money out while they could.

It makes sense we are seeing more websites similar to Freebitcoin to appear around the internet, whether they are scam or not. Because there are people who will try to find alternatives to Freebitcoin in order to get some sats of faucets and also deposit and gamble. Many of them will be scams, there is no question about it. When there is an opportunity to scam people, there will always be some low-life trying to capitalize it, take and run away with money which does not belong to them. Thanks for the heads-up.

"Many" of them will be scams? Lol. Given that the original site turned out to be an exit scam, all those copies will be as well. It’s another matter entirely whether any of them are run by the same owners of freebitco.in or by other scammers who saw an opportunity to clone the site—something I’m afraid we’ll never know.

I just simply did not want to rule out the possibilty of some or any of those new services to actually be legitimate attempts by someone in the world to try to capitalize the fall of Freebitcoin and give shelter to its community. But you are right when it comes to being cautious on the possibilty of all of them being scams and exit-scams awaiting to happen. If there is something to learn from all this situation with Freebitcoin, is the fact that any service which does not control their business model in the long term can turn out to be a scam. Freebitcoin had cult following, after all.

For some, the Freebitcoin exit scam clearly turned out to be a very costly lesson, and the main reason for this is that some users remained loyal to the site until the very end, even though signs that something was wrong began to appear a few years ago. In fact, whether it's gambling or any other centralized platform in the crypto industry, users should always be on their guard and keep in mind that something can go wrong at any moment, even with platforms that, at first glance, seem to have a flawless reputation.

The fall of this casino is clearly something a lot of people never though possible, because of the side of it and the history it had within the Bitcoin ecosystem, there is no question about it. If there is something to be learnt from this is how we should not use casinos as wallets, not matter their reputation and their time they have gotten in this ecosystem. I would not even keep a few Satoshis in exchanges if I am not actively speculating with them. Exit scams usually affect people who are hunting for yield on their deposits, ignoring the risk of giving up their power upon their own money.

No business stays lively operated forever. It's only different in how it ends such as proactively close service, scam exit, passively seized by governments or hacked or bad financial management leads to bankruptcy. There are many cryptocurrency exchanges with their services closed one way or another, they rested in peace but people who stored money on those already dead exchanges had different experience and endings. They either were able to withdraw their money or failed to do that and lost their money with dead exchanges. Cryptocurrency exchange graveyard. The same with dead casinos. Cryptocurrency casino graveyard. If there is something to be learnt from this is how we should not use casinos as wallets, not matter their reputation and their time they have gotten in this ecosystem.
Reminder: do not keep your money in online accounts.

Which is exactly what happened in the case of Freebitcoin, considering that, at first glance, the offers to lock up BTC at 4% per year or FUN tokens at an even higher rate seemed attractive to many loyal users. I'm just wondering how many of those users bought FUN tokens and then locked them up for one year right before Freebitcoin started to go under.

I don't understand the point of creating freebitco clones right now. Maybe it would work when freebitco was popular and people had trust for this business but right now? The original freebitco.in doesn't pay a money and why will a clone website pay money? I don't understand why would someone fall for that scam. This is basically a phishing but without the name similar to Freebitco. The funny thing is that if they steal user credentials, it will be useless since Freebitco doesn't send payments. The only way for them to earn money will be if users deposit money on phishing website.

It would be useless to create clones of freebitco, but some people may consider creating some alternatives. By alternatives, I mean similar websites with hourly faucets but with different designs, not clones of freebitco. I think Hispo also meant the same thing.

I'm just wondering how many of those users bought FUN tokens and then locked them up for one year right before Freebitcoin started to go under. My personal speculation is that the bulk of victims in this case of Freebitcoin exit-scams were people who actually sought to get as much yield as possible out their Bitcoins and also people who did the same with their Fun tokens. Gamblers, in the majority of the cases were going to lose their money anyways to their own bad luck and also because of the edge of the house. Whatever the case, those who had a significant amount of money staked for the sake of yield are supposed to team up and take those scammers down and bring to them before justice.

Purely theoretically, it’s possible that not all of them are With the right financial model, it could likely generate profits for its owners and be attractive to those looking for "crypto faucets" and gambling opportunities. But… knowing human nature, I’d agree that most sites like this will be fraudulent to some extent, or will simply cease to exist by quietly shutting down, leaving their users without their money.

With vibe coding on the rise, many such alternatives are probably already out though most will perish thanks to the faucet business model dying out eons ago which Freebitco proved themselves. Most or all of these alternatives are probably scams themselves. But… knowing human nature, I’d agree that most sites like this will be fraudulent to some extent, or will simply cease to exist by quietly shutting down, leaving their users without their money.
I would go so far as to say that all of these alternatives are scams themselves. They are similar to HYIP scams to a certain degree.

Hi, yet another scam site like freebitco.in
~ I don't know about this particular site, but the thing is that freebitco.in wasn't a scam site from the beginning. They were operating for many years and many users were happy with them and only a few were complaining, either because they were unlucky playing Multiply BTC on the site, or were paid by competitors to spread negative info. It's a pity that now negative info about freebitco.in is true.

Alot of scams are by quantity rather then quality. Some people are out there now who know/knew of FBC but are oblivious to the details of what just occurred, so the brand remains operating as a shell even if its drifting like the Mary Celest. The attempts will be quite regular like a spamming email scam to just grab a familiar set of wording and branding and slide in the latest hot link for a scam. Someone will have that process all automated most likely, a million spam emails only need one person to click on it and that's the meta rather than any fine crafted clever scheme.

Acknowledging that the manner in which a business goes. Out of business can tarnish its reputation for years to come. Trust is particularly crucial in crypto where people could have few options to recoup their investments if a site goes down. The problems with one brand cannot be wiped clean with another. The owner would have to respond to the unanswered complaints and offer definite proof that the issue does not occur again. Even an appealing offer may fail to sway former users, if transparency and accountability is not achieved.
