However, is strange. Apparently site seem up
ping ok traceroute ok whois ok
🤔
Have no idea what you are going on about here. I checked the site and it still says 'Bad Gateway' which has been the case for a while now implying that it's totally down. This is why there is nothing strange at all. What would be strange is them making a comeback. These greedy scammers are on the run thanks to which this site will most likely never get resurrected. I'm one of the many scammed. On my account there were still about 500 euros. And, fortunately, a few months before it closed, I had managed to recover 3000 eur. Last night I simply tried to write ping freebitco.in and traceroute freebitco.in and got a reply. I just try to have hope to the end, not just for me, but also for all the scammed people

Damn! Sorry about that. Glad to hear that you recovered 3000 eur since the total loss could have been far higher. I get why you are holding out hope even though the situation is bleak, but there have been no major developments in recent times. This whole thing was a coordinated scam effort as @DrBeer pointed out in the above posts which is why there is a good chance that these scammers will never get caught sadly.

What are you talking about? the website is down for me. I shows this text: Sorry, this website has been blocked at request of the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA). Yep, the site is still unavailable because it still returns a 502 error when you try to access it. However, the text you see is just a placeholder the hosting provider put up at the regulators' request in your jurisdiction. In other words, even if the Freebitcoin website were up and running right now, you still wouldn’t be able to access it without changing your IP address. This is correct. That message is displayed for users trying to access the site from Netherland. The regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) applies the rule that gambling operators must ensure that their customer service departments can be contacted and provide services in the Dutch language. Once the customer service is unreachable, they ask the host to show that message. I found this explanation from a similar case here: https://focusgn.com/dutch-regulator-raps-online-casino-operator-over-inaccessible-customer-serviceFor other users from other regions, it shows a host error from cloudflare. Lucky are those residing in countries where everything online should be locally regulated.

Not all other regions. Users from Germany don't see the Cloudflare error either. If you visit the website with a German IP address, you will see a message saying " Sorry, this website has been blocked at request of the German government authorities."

Well, I know Netherland is not the only exception. What I wanted to say is that users from countries where online gambling activities are regulated by some authorities will see a message according to the reaction of their authorities over the site status. And as the website is shut down, users from other countries where nothing is regulated, they will see that host error from cloudflare. Users will see different messages depending on the juridictions in their location. Overall, good to see the website finally shut down.

If AI does't lie, Freebitco.in is blocked in Australia too, while from posts here we know that they're blocked in Netherlands in Germany. Usually I'm against such blocking, but maybe this time it saved at least several people from falling into this scam. But in general I don't agree with words ''Lucky are those residing in countries where everything online should be locally regulated.'' Nope, they just force me to change DNS, use VPn and use other things to bypass stupid restrictions.

It's sad, pathetic, and telling to see freebitco.in go the route it did.
I stored coin for a few years and earned decent interest which I cashed out.
I'm just glad I pulled out most before they disabled withdrawals. Had no idea what was happening behind the scene.
I really feel bad for those who lost their coin to these scum.
What started out as good intentions eventually got turned over to a bunch of scammers.
Story of life, I guess.

It is a story of life, because it is something which I have seen happening already with other services in the past, besides Freebitcoin, we also have Betnomi and also a service called "paper wallet" all of them started as legitimate business with within the ecosystem of Bitcoin and they ended up being scams. At least you were able to get your money out, it would have been sadder if you were among the thousands or hundreds of thousands which are at loss because of these scammers.

I consider myself very lucky I pulled out the majority when I did. I was always very leery on what I did and where I left / stored my Bitcoin. Stupid me for getting complacent keeping up on freebitcoin and what was going on. Would have likely pulled all of it out. I remember one point a few years ago. I was considering going to pull out money from my savings, convert to bitcoin, then dump on the site just because of the track record and interest you could earn. Glad I never did it. I have to wonder how much bitcoin they ended up walking away with? Must be huge.

Overall, good to see the website finally shut down.
If I'm not mistaken, the site has been down for over two months now, which doesn't seem to have happened before. So yes, you could say they've finally shut down the freebitcoin site, but whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is up for debate. On the one hand, it's good because there won't be any more users getting scammed, even though some people continued to make deposits there despite the growing number of problems surrounding freebitcoin. On the other hand, it's bad because there are still many questions that those who were scammed will likely never get answers to.

~Maybe the owner should be fined or something, and the money should be given to the customers according to their loss.
Unfortunately no announcement happened. If wetsuit also TheQuin like to protect themselves towards this huge issue, they should explain everything here and defend themselves that they don't have any involvement with this recent controversy.~ It is obvious that they do have some kind of involvement and I hope they will be explaining it in the court sooner or later. There are people that think they can rob others and then disappear and go unpunished, because this is how it used to be in the past for centuries, but our times are different. Thieves are caught in most cases, some immediately and others twenty years later, but with modern technologies none of them go unpunished.

Bitcoin leaves a very clear trail: FreeBitco.in ->known deposit/hot wallets ->subsequent transactions ->exchange/currency converter/custodial service ->KYC ->a specific individual. This is exactly how law enforcement agencies have repeatedly identified the operators of cryptocurrency scams. Moreover, even if the final coins have passed through several intermediate addresses or mixers, this does not mean the trail has disappeared... P.S. The ideal scenario would be if information emerged showing that even just 1 satoshi from the platform had been used, for example, to fund drug trafficking, illegal organizations, etc. Then certain agencies would show significantly greater enthusiasm for investigating! Yes, that’s a hint The specific individuals behind the site are already identified. Even if you can’t tie them to drug trafficking we already know there are thousands of users who requested a withdrawal and were never paid. At the same time they were transferring millions of dollars in crypto to Binance. This should be enough to investigate them for fraud. Why it hasn’t happened is anybody’s guess. Just last month there was an update on their case in the Netherlands where they received a fine. It would only take a minimal amount of research for Dutch investigators to discover this is much greater in scope than a simple case of allowing people to bypass geoblocking restrictions.

And there is information about withdrawals via Binance. There are requests from people to withdraw their funds from FreeBitco.in. What’s missing, however, are similar mass complaints filed with law enforcement agencies. The good news is that Binance has a history of many shady dealings, and it’s possible that they won’t cover for "users" like the owners of FreeBitco.in- instead, they’ll provide the necessary information to avoid further damaging Binance’s already less-than-stellar reputation.

I agree - ideally, the people who invested their money on this platform should get their funds back and receive compensation for the long period of outright fraud and mistreatment by the site’s owners. And I’ll keep my fingers crossed that this is exactly what happens! Let this be a landmark case!

I know right. I can only imagine how hard it must be for those people who actually lost thousands of dollars on this site. I would go crazy even if I would have lost a few hundred dollars on a site but luckily I took it all out right on time. Matter of fact there was actually enough time for everyone to pull their money out of this site because it had already started showing symptoms of a scam. So people should have paid attention to such issues and took out their money.

It will be very painful for those that must have left their thousands of dollars on the casino especially for players that like living their winnings on a casino until they make more money and ready to move their profits. There are more victims we don't know than the ones we know that have falling victims to the Freebitco casino.

That makes no sense when the website has been down for the past two months. Someone must be truly careless to waste any money advertising them now.
