Hello Ravencoin community,

Not so long ago opened a new project BattleHashes, where you can play with ravencoin coins. You can play from the website or via telegram using the bot.

Provided that update RVN will be without problems, I expect the consolidation of prices above 400 sat.

I saw a weird info on icemining.ca pool's twitter :

"I never thought I'd say this. Tomorrow's RVN hard fork is a manipulation between FPGA Farms, an ASIC Dev with pedigree, and one pool operator. FPGA and ASICS were already developed, and this was the plan all along. #RavenCoin #ScamAlert"

What do you guys think about it ?

That thought crossed my mine too. If they went to ProgPowRvn..it would be a different story. We'll see soon.  Smiley

New algorithm and ASIC protection are consistent with the team's beliefs. The original white paper says:
"Create a platform like Bitcoin with a new mining algorithm, x16r [13], intended to prevent
immediate dominance by mining pools, and future dominance by ASIC mining equipment."

Tell your exchange to upgrade today or move your coins off immediately.

The fork upgrade is tomorow.  Any exchange not upgraded will not be on the main chain & this could create problems and loss.

Be cautious.

You mean what do people think of conspiracy theories?

I wouldn't give much weight to what that person/company has to say. They think SHA-3 is being added in to the "mix". It's Tiger and it's being place in front of 3 other hashing functions.

I do however sort of agree with the sentiment about wanting something better. Given the speed at which an ASIC was developed for this coin, I suspect it will be only a few months before there's a new one out there. This change doesn't feel like it does enough to really make it harder for ASICs to be developed for it. Maybe the larger S-boxes of Tiger will, but if they were already willing to invest in making ASICs for such a young coin, I think they'd go for it anyway. My impression though is that the devs want to see how the Monero one works out and then that would be a potential option for a better solution. Regardless, the desire for no ASICs on the network is a core principle of the coin and they're making a change to that end which is all that really matters. We'll see how it all plays out.

You coins are "in" the blockchain. Your wallet contains the keys to "access" your coins in the blockchain. Nothing is changing with regards to keys. I don't know how Exodus works though but I would think they'd need to update the software so that you get the right blockchain after the fork. You'd probably have to ask them if they've updated yet or not as the official code has been out for awhile now. Either way, your coins are still in the chain. Maybe you won't be able to access them until they've updated, but they're still safe in there. I always have a backup of my keys so that I can switch to any wallet I might want to down the road.

Edit: Found this https://raven.wiki/wiki/Wallets It indicates Exodus is up to date but you might want to confirm that anyway and/or update your version if you haven't.

New Asics are already being made for few weeks, reported speed is about 20% slower.Instead going for better option team was listening fpga devs and we will be soon in same position before the fork
