I don't see any difference in payout the amount still the same, unlike last year that you can get more rewards compared today. I believe there are many FPGA and ASIC mining RVN with new Algo. Since it is just a program anything from a program can make a new way to mine those coins.
The price of crypto rarely has anything at all to do with things like hashrate etc.

It's clear though that you need to go educate yourself on what an ASIC is. It's already known that ASICs "could" still mine a very limited number of blocks if they wanted to. I think the percentage was something like 3.5%. The only way they could still be mining all of them, is if when designing the chip(s), they made some educated guesses as to what the devs might change in the algorithm and they built configurable options into them. I know I certainly would have. However, Tiger is a much more difficult and expensive algorithm to implement and so it's more likely they wouldn't have added that one in. On top of that, having it in front of three existing ones is also not something someone would easily come up with as a potential option. So the likelihood there are ASICs out there that can still mine all block is pretty damn low.

FPGAs are a different story as they can be reprogrammed. But, depending on how they designed the hardware and what the overall tech specs are of it, they may actually need to redesign them to be able to handle Tiger. Regardless, they'll be back sooner rather than later.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Hi) help sync raven core wallet
You can somehow do it faster. When you first turn on the wallet, the synchronization is written to end in 1.5 years (

Forks are a normal phenomenon in the cryptocurrency industry. One of the latest networks set to undergo a fork is Ravencoin.

Ravencoin is a network conceived for asset tokenization, and that was born with the mindset that mining efforts should be as decentralized as possible.

Designed to be ASIC-resistant, Ravencoin’s algorithm X16R rotates through a series of algorithms to mine blocks making it relatively hard for ASICs to be developed.

However, with the popularity of X16R, it looks like developers were able to create ASICs for the Ravencoin algorithm.

The original Ravencoin whitepaper stated that one of the primary aims of the Ravencoin project was to prevent future dominance by ASIC mining equipment. On July 14th, the user standarderror posted a detailed analysis presenting proof of centralization of hashpower on the Ravencoin network.

It seems like a single miner appeared to have gathered an enormous quantity of RVN and sold it in bulk quantities, while mining as much as 45% of all Ravencoin blocks in July.

This situation prompted developers to build a new version of the X16R algorithm, which should keep the network away from ASICs.

The improved version of X16R is set to be activated on October 1st. As Ravencoin users update their software to 2.5.1, there will also be a share of users that will stay on the old chain with the old X16R mining algorithm.

There is already a small group of people that seem to have planned to maintain the original blockchain. If these miners continue mining on the old chain, this would create a Ravencoin fork alternative, dubbed “Ravencoin Classic”.

Binance, the popular exchange platform that listed RVN in 2018, has announced support for the upgrade, handling all the technical requirements for users on the exchange. The exchange will suspend deposits and withdrawals of RVN during the transition, resuming activity once the upgraded network is stable.

According to a blog post from the developing team, there might be a spike in profitability for GPU miners at the start, as the network hash rate can be erratic at the start. Those interested in mining and upgrading to the new algorithm can check out the “Definitive Guide” provided on the blog.

Despite the bearish market for altcoins, the RVN fork updates brought prices higher against both BTC and USD.

Ravencoin is not the first project to upgrade the network in order to restrict ASICs. In the cryptocurrency community, many feel like ASIC-resistance is a futile effort, since hardware developers will always try and create optimized devices – especially for profitable network coins. It remains to be seen, whether Ravencoin will be able to upgrade successfully and keep an ASIC-resistant environment for a longer period.

Don’t forget games.
Lots less regulation than securities and lots more fun.
It’s also a multi billion dollar market for in-game digital assets.
Tokenizing them will allow devs to cooperate with other game devs to build interesting ecosystems and economic models, cross platform.

Clam down Francis,
The total hash rate is 8.77 Ths and F2 has 3.37Ths or 38%.
So  - yeah spread the hash but it's not a OMG LOOK WHAT"S HAPPENING moment.

63.3 % of Known Hashrate. Or ~33% of Net hashrate. Total Net hashrate 11 TH. Smiley

There is a large FPGA farm on F2Pool. Jmining, who has mined over 6 millon RVN and has sold 0 coins. I think Jmining has about 1.5 TH of the volume. Doesn't seem to be a problem at all.

I'm sorry, but I've been out of the loop for a bit.   Are there any RVN protocol asset exchanges?  I am aware of the 51% issue currently going on, but have there been any changes in terms of usability?

EDIT: In other words...F2POOL has 3Th of 9Th net hashrate. So there's no problem.

What Ravencoin team thinks about creating of faucet? I'm a specialist in creating uncommon interesting faucets.  IN past I had various for XLR coin, I dont say it's thanks to me but XLR coin has grown a lot that epoch.
I would do it for some small reward (bounty)

I'm more afraid that the x16rv2 algorithm can be rented on Nicehash. Now there is 1.5 TH, but when the rental price increases there will be several times more. This is a real danger to the network, allowing a 51 percent attack.

Not Long after the fork of Ravencoin on October 1st, 2019, Altered Silicon has released a public bitstream for X16Rv2. This bitstream works for BCU1525 and can be accessed 👉here. It needs 2 BCU1525 at minimum to run. Hence you will need QSFP cables to connect them.

You think the change was to get rid of FPGAs "forever"? No. It was for ASICs and will continue to be primarily for ASICs. But then again I guess I shouldn't expect you to know anything at all given you never have anything useful to say in any project thread you post in.

Buying Ravencoin, as always, remains very risky and speculative.

Don’t take economic risk you can’t afford.

Mining on a home scale with a simple GPU is a great way to participate and help secure the network.

Using the Ravencoin wallet you can easily create any type of digital token you want in 5 minutes.

You pick the supply, whether it’s reissuable or not, what number of units it’s accounted in & can add IPFS data if you want.

You control & can transfer it with a master token.

So we can assume that Ravencoin fork was a big fail ...

Additionaly the original chain of Ravencoin is still alive and mined.

There is even a pool for mining it (icemining) and its called now Ravencoin Classic.

Im stick with the old chain.

of course you can stick with the old chain. especially if you already bought the ASICS. Ravencoin Classic is just another spinoff coin just like pigeon was. That also died quite quickly. Dunno what is the plan with Ravencoin Classic other than keep the asics useful. Didn't see one post about it.

also, just googled Ravencoin classic, found this https://www.coinness.com/news/412858 dunno the truth, dunno any exchanges for it or anything. Any whitepaper for Ravencoin classic?
