Hey, if anyone is interested in a Verge PPS pool, I just launched this today: http://xvg.elitehash.net/

Other algos coming, for now there's just X17. Payouts are set to 100% (meaning I will keep the transaction fees but that's it)

I'm currently developing an experimental social AI platform

in the way that the coins are encoded, every mined block must have different algorithms if they are the next block. It seems, now, they are the next block with the same mining algorithm. The problem is, according to the poster, the attacker mines one block every second, for thirteen hours before being discovered. This is because of a bug in XVG code that allows users to mine blocks with spoofed timestamps.

I mined quite a lot of Verge/x17 and Verge/Lyra2rev2 a couple of months ago, and then I went to mining different coins - I switch around quite a lot.

I didn't hear about this attack or anything about it until I saw that maybe mining Verge is quite profitable sometimes at the moment, but it really depends which website calculator you trust.... and I went to the Suprnova site and saw the link to this thread beginning a month ago.

I have only read the first couple of pages and last couple of pages of this thread and I still don't understand if Verge is compromised or not, or if @OCMiner / Suprnova is only begrudgingly allowing it to be mined at their pool, or if it is all fixed and Verge is fine?

Can anyone say categorically WTF is going on with Verge and Verge mining right now?

All my instincts are yelling at me to stay away from it, it's broken, etc, etc but I have seen other coins (even really big ones like Ethereum) go through some pretty terrible hacks, bugs, attacks, etc and survive.

I think that the nature of Verge - with anonymity, privacy, TOR connection, etc will make it a very tempting target to be hacked, especially if as @OCMiner seems to suggest that it's being dev'd by a single person rather than a team. It's a coin that fundamentally allows you to hide. Obviously that is a great thing if it works and terrible if it doesn't, but it must really suit someone who is essentially stealing from the network.

I dunno... I think I will keep mining ETH, Zencash, Komodo, Monero or even Zcash for a while and just watch what happens in the Verge universe.

Is anyone out there mining Verge with complete confidence?

Crypto currency enthusiast and miner since 2015. Mined approx 200 ETH during 2016 and 2017 and sold it at approximately $US40 each. Then I watched it reach $1000+ each. If anyone bothers to read this stuff pay attention to this: HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL HODL

I started mining with 1 AMD 7950 and 1 R9-280X. Then I gradually built my AMD operation into 12 R9-290s. Awesome ETH hash but ridiculous power consumption and heat. Over the last year I defected to the Nvidia team. I now use GTX 1070s. They were expensive to buy (probably a bargain now) but awesome hash rate vs. power consumption. blah blah blah blah

I wonder how this connection between Verge and Pornhub actually came to existence? Who did reach out to whom? Does anybody know anything?

It was mentioned by the Verge dev that pornhub/mindgeek contacted them ... if i remember right it was mentioned in an interview or statement he gave.

If that is accurate then it would be big for me, it's one thing reaching out to hundreds or thouands of potential partners, but if Pornhub contacted Verge proactively you have to wonder what is going on behind the scenes. You would think that more established coins like Dash or Monero would be the 1st choice.

"Hi, if you give us 5 millions $ we will accept your currency on pornhub" ... I think that I know how Dash or Monero devs would react Cheesy

That's what I thought as well to be honest. And then again I think we will never get to know the truth anyway how that relationship came to existence.

XVG has a high ranking. It looks like a really good project. I am looking for an opportunity to invest and support this project as soon as possible.

And he's in a thread pointing out it's code is shit! Some people deserve to lose it all.

Are you mining? If so it can't be zero. And if you are the question is WTF would you mine this shitcoin for! Smiley

Mine & sell right away. Its been one of the most profitable Scrypt coin lately.

With the complexity at almost 0, since I'm mining, I am supposed to wake up rich tomorrow morning lol.

What's up with the difficulty at .002? Is it under attack again?
Got a warning message from the pool about too many invalid shares  Huh
Guess it's time to switch to ZEC pool.
