Under this component are:

The Mosaic platform is built on a permissioned blockchain. All users must register
using their real identities. Through this type of verification, Mosaic:
• motivates content providers—who are putting their reputation on the line by publishing their analyses and predictions on the platform—to be
forthright and provide their best work

• assures the integrity of the platform by preventing malicious actors from creating multiple and/or fake accounts and overwhelming the system

• prevents bots from existing on the network by curtailing the Mosaic API2 to make it impossible to automate tasks on the platform, such as posting,
editing, upvoting and downvoting content.

Mosaic also have the staking mechanisms to combat misinformation, spam, and malicious user behavior.

The underlying mechanics are simple: every time a user posts content on Mosaic or rates the content of others, they place a slashable stake in MZX into escrow through a smart contract, with size of the stake dependent on the type of interaction as well as the accuracy and popularity of past posts. The Mosaic smart contract holds these tokens in reserve for a given amount of time. At the end of this period, if a post is heavily downvoted, the staking mechanism automatically flags that post and removes it from users’ feeds, with the stake sent to a pool reserved for future contributor rewards. MZX stakes attached to unflagged content are automatically returned to their original owner and those posts remain unchanged on the feeds.

Mosaic Data platform provides solution to misinformation, hype, news driven hysteria and bias analyses thorough research and discussions. The MDP will essentially be a machine-learning driven toolkit enabling: (1) contributors to crowdsource suggestions for new data sources — whether they be new metrics or statistics, or simply data from new tokens, markets or exchanges; (2) researchers to generate statistics, analyses and reports from platform data; and (3) users to consume research available on the platform as well as passively contributing towards the research content by way of (i) rating (upvoting/downvoting), (ii) commenting, and (iii) requesting new editions.

The Mosaic Network incentivises researchers to share data and analyses that potentially have a material effect on cryptoasset prices. In doing so, Mosaic reduces information asymmetry and helps educate crypto investors by providing a platform on which contributors can share and users can evaluate research. To reduce friction further, the Mosaic Data Platform will serve as a toolkit of useful data, statistics, and analytics for Mosaic contributors to use to produce research.
