In my opinion and usually my answer is only sell your bitcoin if you greatly needed the money for your needs or wants purposes specially if it will motivate you even more to work for it and earn more for it. The second reason may be because you are satisfied with the growth or increase of your capital might be and if you think you have reached your goal. The growth of bitcoin is, for me, assured because i do believe that in the near future we will be using more of virtual currency rather than fiat money and it will happen soon enough i think.

Tell them to sell their bitcoins to you instead rather than forcing you to sell your own bitcoins. Clearly, your friends do not read a lot about the news and confirm all the fud that they are hearing as to whether they are true or not. And I guess since you are asking you are a bit like them too but a bit better since you are trying to confirm before you decide and that is a good thing. One advice I will give  you is to try and look back on the time you decided to buy your bitcoins and rethink the reason why you believed in it so much that you decided to invest your own money into it. Doing that might help you from chickening out that leads to panic selling.

I suggest you invest in good altcoins token sale now. If you will sell now on a low-level BTC/USD, you will fix looses. But investment in good tokens can give you 10-50x return in BTC (while it will grow, BTC/USD can grow too, and you can exit to BTC - double profit)
