With the World Cup just months away does injuries to major star effect their team morale in any way. Neymar for Brazil he's their talisman and if he fails to recover it'll be a big loss, harry for England, and ageuro for Argentina they all are nursing injuries. I feel this World Cup could be dull due to injuries and secondly the hostile nature of the host is not doing any good to participants.

Injuries just two months prior to the world cup are a devastating blow for any team, to see that one of your teammates (especially someone from the starting XI) might not play in the world cup after years and years of preparation...I think it does affect the team morale.

For example, Neymar, he's the leader of national team, the best player in Brazil, the guy who couldn't play in some games in the last world cup due to an injury, the whole team was expecting to see him play in this Worl Cup...but just imagine how sad and worried his teammates must after watching him on TV the other day using crutches, he could barely sit on the chair. So yes, injuries affect the team morale, but they're profesional players so i'm sure they know how to deal with these sort of situations.

Thing is that these top national clubs (like Brazil or Argentina) always have a bunch of quality players that can replace another player from the first team (except Messi and CR7, no other player can replace these monsters). But imagine if Salah got injured (hopefully, he won't), the team morale would be lower than other national teams that also have injured players since Egypt doesn't have a replacement for Mo Salah. So it's a different (perhaps difficult) situation for low tier national teams that depend on 1 or 2 players.

For 2018 FIFA World Cup I bet on Germany and France. Both teams have the same core players and the same backup players have high quality. I'm sure both teams will meet in the final, especially Germany to continue the positive trend and become defending champion. Market value of football teams could be very deceiving. Do you guys remember the England - Iceland Round of 16 match during Euro 2016? Russia are expected to win their opening game as they are the host country and will be getting a massive support from their fans, but the Russian players will be surely nervous and stiff as hell I reckon so they might draw the match. Just saying. Don't put a lot of money on Russia in the first match

Very unfortunate when my favorite team is Italy does not qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2018. But, in the gamble maybe I will choose two teams that deserve to be in the top game later that is Germany and Portugal. The reason is Germany is still the favorite team to win because they have very talented young players while Portugal are a team that wants to maintain a positive trend when they won the trophy two years ago, I know CR7 really want this trophy to marry with the trophies they had previously earned.

I agree with you, It's now or never. Belgium are being filled by their best squad, the players are in the golden age of football. If there is a chance for a world champion, this year's opportunity. Their chances this year are the greatest opportunities for them.

But Martinez seems to be much less skillful in compare with main favorites Low and Deschamps. I don't know a lot about Tite, but his results in qualification are also great. As for Martinez, he had nice results with Wigan, but his performance in Everton was very close to being called a fail. I like current Belgian generation, but I am afraid the coach will not be able to reveal players' maximum and there will be something like Euro-2016 when they lost to much less sophisticated Wales team. Same thoughts about England.

Is there any reason for Neymar not to play during this years world cup because playing for one's own country is why most players want to play and not because of the money.
Unless he is needed for his current obligations for PSG and any upcoming tournaments they might have, I don't see why he would turn down the opportunity to play for his countries team during the FIFA expose that only comes by every four years.

I will not be making a bet for the Russia-KSA game. In the past I have lost a lot of money betting in favor of Russia and they have a habit of losing to smaller teams and that too on crucial occasions. Don't want to lose my money again. But I will be making a bet for the Russia vs Egypt match.

I also consider Egypt to be much better team than Russia. Actually it is this way. Even if we just forget about this total market value for a moment and just look at the skills of the players that are involved, Egypt has some good ones in its team. Now these were facts and there is luck involved too. No one knows what will happen in the end. Considering any opponent as weak can be fatal.

I also consider Egypt to be much better team than Russia. Actually it is this way. There is also an issue, which can be not so obvious for those, who don't pay much attention to Russian football.

We have a limit on foreign players in Russian Premier League. Only 6 players without Russian passport can be on a pitch at the same time, so it led to a great burst of prices in the Russian local market and, for sure, players' salaries as well. For example, Alexander Kokorin earns in Zenit 3.3 mln euros. Being in Dinamo in 2013—2016, he earned 5.5 mln. Artem Dzyuba earns 3.6, Fedor Smolov - 2.5, Pavel Mamaev - 2.4, etc. They don't have any motivation to improve their skill and move to Europe. There is no any club in Europe, which will pay the same money for players' of these level. They know, there is a very low probability of them to lose their contract, because demand on players with Russian passport on our local market exceeds supply. 99% of them knows they will play in Russia for the rest of their career, so the kind of motivation to show yourself on the World Cup to move to a better club is definitely not related to our situation.

So I think, those, who supposed the motivation will become a crucial factor for Russia to beat Egypt, should take into attention the facts I've written.

You are right about Martinez, that is also my great fear that he will not be able to take the Belgian team to the next level. If Preudhomme would be the coach, than odds that Belgium would be winning the world cup would be alot bigger.

I think, we are having Brazil too in this world cup and I also think it is not a useless team full of novice no skilled players. It is exact opposite, Brazil team is a way better than Spain or Germany. Though I admire both teams and Germany is a strong opponents but just look at the players Brazil has. Neymar Jr., Dani Alves, D Costa, Silva, Marcelo. Brazil has the most chance of winning.
