After being a pre-order junkie for quite a while now, I've decided to order an AntMiner S1.

Quite refreshing to know that it will ship within two working days after purchase!

Run a Bitcoin node, support the network.

Yep and as long as you didn't cut any cables...
I guess that's why Bitmain decided to add the PCIE connectors to the newer boards  Grin
Can someone clarify what type of power connection is needed for the currently shipping Antminers? Can ATX PSU PCIe cables be used directly without modification (i.e. do the Antminers have regular PCIe connectors), or is something else needed? The OP and Bitmain website isn't all that clear and may be out of date.

The AntMiner S1 units that BITMAIN is shipping has both, the original (cut your own wires) connectors AND PCI-E connectors. So when you receive an S1, you'll need to connect it with two PCI-E connectors, one on each "blade"/side (an S1 has two blades).

And with the price of bitcoin at todays rate  each Antminer S1  costs around £560  and they are shipping very quickly.

I just tried ordering now and get an HTTP 503 error when pressing the 'confirm' button on the order screen. I assume the ordering system is temporarily down, but what is normally expected to happen?

Hopefully a temporary glitch.  I ordered about 14 hours ago and didn't have that problem.  It will go to a pay screen with a QR code for the bitcoin address to pay to.  They also send you a confirmation email of your order details.

Run a Bitcoin node, support the network.

New price? Or new product...?

I am guessing both.

AvalonShenzen already announced their 1TH miners for sale.

I am sure Bitmain has something up their sleeve too Wink

I am waiting, I haven't placed any orders yet due to this waiting Smiley

Very impressed with Bitmain's track record in shipping and such. My first Antminer is on the UPS truck in my town. Eager to get hashing tonight. Smiley

Looking forward to whatever Bitmain's next generation of product is.

Edit: Arrived. Setup was a snap. Very nice!

Team BITMAIN

If you produce a new PCB then please change the following:

DONT!! PLEASE DONT! Print "ANTMINER" on the PCB. German Customs went on http://www.aliexpress.com/ to look for the real price of a antminer.

Dont make them easy  identifiable

Bitmain is the best BTC hardware vendor from my experience. Received my 2 antminers without delays or bad surprises. Quality hardware. Fast setup. No pre-order. Fast shipping. very well packaged. Low customs values ($$$$ save tons).

BFL seems like long ago bad dream that Bitmain is helping me forget. I call it BTC miner Bitmain therapy.

I need much more therapy so saving up my BTC for their next generation!

thanks Bitmain  Smiley

why its your duty as a citizen to pay customs

For the same reason you pay VAT, income tax, road tax, property tax and many others.
Poly-tics (the spelling was intentional)

The real question here is: Why do you think Governments and Banks are fighting BTC?

Upgraded my openWRT firmware to the latest... but I see on GitHub there's also a PIC Hex file... do we have to do anything to update that too (and how?) or is that only for custom setups that chain multiple boards?
