I am also wondering how far back they will go for the coupons.  I purchased on 3/26 and 4/8.

I have two recent S1 orders from 4/8 and 4/23.  No coupons yet and it's the 26th already.

Update: just got my coupon for a decent amount.  Ordered two more S1's immediately with it.  Wink

I have recently (within the past month) bought 2 S1's...

Within a few weeks BOTH failed (1 due to a bad controller board, 1 had 2 bad "banks" of 8 asic chips (16 total).

It's been a week with the RMA department and they had me take pieces from one to make 1 working one, and finally got the go-ahead to ship the other one back (which arrives to them on Monday).

I likely wont see a replacement for at least another week.  Needless to say I am currently loosing my ass.  Bye Bye ROI.

I have expressed this concern about my ROI due to THEIR faulty product to Bitmain Customer Service and every time they ignore me.  I asked questions within the RMA emails and they responded to everything BUT my requests for either a coupon or a couple miners pointed at my pool while the RMA process is happening.  It's like they read it and just laugh.  I didn't ask for anything outrageous, I simply asked to be compensated for a failure in their product.

I thought they were a stand up company, but now I am having my doubts.  Maybe the prices ARE to good to be true, especially now that it has dropped even more.  I spent $950-$1,000 ish in product around the beginning of the month, and only have about 1.5 weeks of actual mining since I got my miners... As of right now I cannot recommend them.

Something must be going on internally as I used to hear good things about them (which is why I chose to do business with them). Unless things change FAST, they likely could get to the point where they can't honor ANY of their promises.

**EDIT**

The only reason why I am still giving Bitmain a shred of hope of redeeming themselves is because of Juan @112bit.com.  1 of my units I ordered from him, 1 I ordered directly from Bitmain.  Juan IS what customer service should be.  He always gets back to me quickly, is understanding and you can tell he actually cares about his customers.  He also has been helping me with BOTH units even though he only sold me one of them.

Thank you Juan!

I actually looked at my S2 unit (Batch 2) for the first time yesterday after almost 2 weeks of remote monitoring only - and I was impressed.

Those with shipping issues - your UPS guy is terrible. My unit had rubber strips on the lid to prevent the cards unslotting, and all the plastic slide-rails were still in place and firmly mounted to the metal cross-rails of the case.  The boards swap in/out easily and I like the idea of leaving the control board (which has space for a LOT of extra features!/?) as its own swappable card.

thoughts:

1) I got a 1000W GOLD PSU. looks pretty new, still a clear sticker over the brandname on the fan grill, no 'months of dust pileup' like reported from Batch 1

1a) The load at my PDU registered just under 13A - or over 1300W.   I don't know if this means the PSU is overtaxed (>1000W draw) or the gold-rated efficiency drops off severely at 100% load. If anyone else can confirm this drastic efficiency difference it might mean that a 1000W gold is not the best option. 1100W-1200W might provide significant (100W+) power savings due to the efficiency at 80% load compared to 100% load.

1b) I would love to see a simple revision if it can be done easily:  include 1-2 external PCIe connection ports.  Connect these to a relay so if they receive power, 2-3 of the hashing blades switch to draw power from them, lightening the load on the included enermax PSU. relay clips off if the secondary PSU is detached, and current to the blades resumes from the primary PSU.

1c) Alternatively, an option to disclude the included PSU in favor of 6 external PCI-e hookups would be great for those with lots of power equipment already, such as server supplies. (similar to what KNC did)

2) the hashing boards and LCD all look great. From a rack-mounting POV this machine is probably one of the best.  (1!1!1!1 would probably back that up)

3) I hope we can get some better info for overclocking. A hex for clock speed around 215MHz would be great for a 5-7% hashrate boost if you swap in a 1200W PSU. anything higher (such as 225MHz) does not work well without knowing which resistors to modify in order to overvolt the system.

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Anybody get the S1 coupons that were supposed to be distributed 4/25 and 4/26?  4/26 is almost over and I still haven't received mine.

i was still hoping to receive mine but since the 26th is almost over i already lost hope.

I purchased mine on Apr 8th, maybe it doesn't apply for "recently bought".

One of my orders was 4/11, so I figured I would get at least one coupon.  I guess I would understand if Bitmain didn't send a coupon for my 3/21 order, even though it is just a bit more than a month old. If I get one coupon, I will order one more S1 if they send 2 coupons I will order 2 more S1s...If I get none and I know that others have gotten coupons for older orders, I will question whether Bitmain has their act together or not.

I ordered 3 S1s on the 8th,no coupon showed up, kinda disappointed in Bitmain's coupon distribution, I was really hoping 18 days was recent enough. Oh well, maybe they're just behind in crediting accounts!

Since they ship all orders so quickly i don't believe that a simple task like these would be that dificult.

Maybe just being pessimist and tomorrow we all have a surprise in our account.

I purchased an Antminer S1 on 4/9/14 and sent Bitmain an email asking if I would get a coupon and they said that "yes, coupons will be ready soon".
So I'm confident that I'll be getting a coupon soon.
So far every time I sent an email to them they've answer me within a few hours.

I just used the email on their website Bitmain Tech (info@bitmaintech.com).

I sent an email to that address days ago and got no response.  Hopefully they will come through soon!  I'm definitely up for buying a couple more S1's if they do send a coupon (maybe if they don't, though I am a little frustrated with some S2 issues), what are they providing?

Got my S1 coupon this morning after sending an email last night.

Mine showed up this morning, BTC0.05 off of 2 (ordered 3/28 and 4/9).  I got 2xS1's for BTC1.108.  Now I just need to find a reasonably priced PSU that can support them...  Energy is really cheap for me right now so it doesn't have to be really efficient (less than 6c/kWh for wind).
