Why are there so many blocks at the same height on the paccoinexplorer?
http://paccoinexplorer.us:3001/

I don't know Bill, not very technical about this, what's your perception?

Hello Mr Corless,

there is no chance to win a lawsuit against the new and official paccoin team.

In around August - September 2017 i was a part of the "paccoin ressurection mission". We tried everything to contact you, wrote an email and even called you. We basically got no answer whatsoever.

Now paccoin has found a new home, with more than 1,200 online members on discord. And you think, just because you created this coin and not to forget, abandoned it, you can just have a comeback and threaten the people with a lawsuit? This is a very low game you are playing. Really low. You should be ashamed of yourself.

In my personal opinion you're idea of the paccoin was such bullshit. An artificial island? Pacific coin? Oh man.
It might be the same name but with a whole different meaning.

Let those people do their thing. @paccointeam: don't let Mr. Corless join the team. He will ruin the whole project.

Best regards,
Mick

You can transfer your assets such as discord to your new Paccoin Cash efforts. You got a new logo with the P and the slash through it, It should be for paccoin cash in my opinion.

Why are there so many blocks at the same height on the paccoinexplorer?
http://paccoinexplorer.us:3001/

I don't know Bill, not very technical about this, what's your perception?

My guess is the blockexplorer is using the "patch" or if its not, its listing the blocks. What needs to happen is the consensus model should decide which block is correct.

Before under the old website there were duplicates, but not as bad. I assume the database is copying the information, and not deleting it later when the wallets reorganize. Normally this is rectified when the wallets walk back to the duplicate decide which one is correct, and then begin rebuilding the chain. Any transactions other than mined blocks are added to the blockchain so no transactions are lost. (except for mined blocks).

Breakcrypto said his patch does not leave duplicates in the blockchain, but it does prevent the rewind attacks as he calls it.

I want to beleive that his solution works, but I'm still in need of evidence. My experience with testing the patch was there was no reorganize.
This is crucial because in order to have only one correct blockchian wallets need to have consensus and therefore duplicate blocks are eliminated. Only one blockheight is allowed.

If his patch eliminated the orphans when mining then the only logical explanation is that his wallet is operating on a fork. an easy way to verify this is to look at the txid of the generated block and look on block explorer. If there are multiple blocks at that height, then its on a fork.

The reorganize is the correct response.

This is what reorganize looks like in your debug.log

Code:
received block 7b4f07b84a9673bde2a8
REORGANIZE
REORGANIZE: Disconnect 1 blocks; 654e87f8a4164959c90e..42edae4346499d1df322
REORGANIZE: Connect 2 blocks; 654e87f8a4164959c90e..7b4f07b84a9673bde2a8
REORGANIZE: done
SetBestChain: new best=7b4f07b84a9673bde2a8  height=2645321  trust=4140918293389501583  date=01/26/18 17:44:55,block hash= 7b4f07b84a9673bde2a80f2078c8e52d1d89c72eabd5b0ea3e1b868080451c80
ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED

Essentially what is going on here is a new block comes in "7b4f07b84a9673bde2a8" The wallet disconnects the old block at "42edae4346499d1df322" and then sets the new block as the new best. This is at block height 2545321.

i'd like to add a correction.
I noticed that all three blocks on the explorer having the same number also had the same block hash number.
This was unexpected. I assumed they were different.
More inquiry should be made.

 for example

2645321   163c5b1271fc4213de509ea1a937d024e61765b727bc904e08de0f68a31a3244   2   20109.30825100   Fri, 26 Jan 2018 17:44:55 GMT
2645321   95fe5e11dff4c63ebf2ef51e2a1fc63e7323d59f00190383d4b708d1c2f0ec93   2   99999998.99990000   Fri, 26 Jan 2018 17:44:55 GMT
2645321   18417af4406dd79020763c90540a27452d0ebaa28cfdc2967316da73bdcfc704   1   3533731.17525600   Fri, 26 Jan 2018 17:44:55 GMT

these appear to be different transactions with the same block height

However when you hover over the block height 2645321 it shows the same block hash of:

7b4f07b84a9673bde2a80f2078c8e52d1d89c72eabd5b0ea3e1b868080451c80

I believe what is happening is the different transactions are merging instead of being copied normally.

That is why there are multiple block numbers with the same block hash.

The implications are that they are not being disseminated to the network. Only the wallets with the merged transaction have them, the other wallets don't. This is worse than a fork.

All thanks to the New Devs providing the patch to help fix the wallets on the exchanges. Absolutely NO thanks goes to Mr. Corless, who didn't do a single thing.

The New Devs should close this thread, or at least send a request to change the link on coinmarketcap to the new one, whenever that appears.

From what I've read Cryptopia is not fixing the wallet. Your Pac coins need to be swapped for Pac Cash when redemption starts. You'll have to wait.

I think Pac coins value is based on Doge. So I would buy Pac Coin with Altcoins, not BTC. You'll receive more than twice as much Pac using alts at this time. BTC is so valuable it can't go any lower than it's worth at 1 Sat.

If the Alt markets do go back up to BTC market levels or beyond, then the value of Pac among all markets should remain more or less equal from then on.

When that happens, volumes may increase again on BTC markets. But we'll see what happens.

At least buying PAC with Alts will make it twice as easy for a person to become a $PAC masternode owner when swap opportunity arrives on Cryptopia (and Yobit too if I'm not mistaken).

With the present trading volumes, for PAC/BTC pair,
at the volume of around 0.4 BTC and total sell order of around 25 BTC at 1 satoshi,
it would take about 60 days to sell out, barring new sell order at this level.  Wink Wink

I think Cryptopia will do it for you automatically. You should go to the Reddit threads for more info.

The New Devs should close this thread, or at least send a request to change the link on coinmarketcap to the new one, whenever that appears.

1. Could you provide links to evidences that "the New Dev" provided the patch that fix the wallets that messed up the blockchains?
2. "The New Devs" has never showed up to answer any questions or help to solve any problems or clear confusions any new users of PAC have had here.

It's fine not to do those here due to the possibilities of confusions and direct confrontations among Devs.
But "the New Dev(s)" have never opened a new Bitcointalk thread and apparently shied away from doing so,
for all these highly technical Bitcointalk threads?

3. So what is the point of your accusation that "Mr. Corless, who didn't do a single thing"?
 Huh
