The real question is not how many years or how long will it take bitcoin to reach the number one spot in terms of currencies, the real question would be how bitcoin will achieve that, the reason why bitcoin hasn't reached the top yet is because it is still not legalized, governments and countries are not accepting it as a way for paying for things so people prefer not to use it, and major investors don't want to put money into it in fear of its instability, i think that if bitcoin gets accepted by all the big countries in the world it would defiantly reach the top and be used by everyone in the world for it is a currency full of advantages and benefits.

I think to 2020 it will become No1 and the most popular currency in Europe and Asia  Wink

If that happens all the banks will collapse and governments will never let that happen. They will start banning bitcoins everywhere.

So far only one other person has noticed that the graph is bogus. The graph is showing amounts of coin and paper currency and bitcoin has no coin or paper currency.

We have to give it some time, it is a new economic system and it is less than ten years old and we have to be proud of its growth in a short span, we really do not need government regulation to reach the trillion dollar evaluation, since the price has risen this much in a short period, the government cannot have a blind eye to this new economic market and so is the reason they are scrambling to come up with regulation and we had this rally because of big investment coming into bitcoin, if not we wont be in the two hundred billion dollar club.

Bitcoin is the world’s 6th largest currency. These figures are noteworthy, but if the value of a single Bitcoin goes up to $15,000, India’s currency Rupee will pass. Ethereum ranked 17th and Bitcoin Cash ranked 20th. Ripple is located just below 20.
How many years Bitcoin will need to become No.1 ?

Everything could be possible with regards of Bitcoin price and popularity, I won't be surprised if Bitcoin would really dominate the market cap to be the number currency in the whole world. As of now lots of billionaire are continue increasing their number who are showing their interest with regards of Bitcoin.

bitcoin is not about competing with other currencies so it is not going to become number 1, 2, etc. bitcoin is just a new form of currency here to offer different options. the options that people wanted for years and because of that it will continue to grow but it is not about competing or replacing anything.
It's about competing sometimes .... To make it known . Compare which one better , which one provide you benefit and people can take a look what to use later .
Bitcoin at the world's 6th largest currency which means people has seriously considered Bitcoin as something great and successfully get people attention with short time only , it's around ten year since invented and here we are based on the data explained above.

I'm in 400,000 euros debt , dont help me , i rather die

Indian Rupee takes 70 years to reach at No5 in the largest world currency and Bitcoin arrive on No6 in 15 years it is really big achievement. I think Bitcoin will be largest World currency in next few years.

but still, its bubbling effect is dangerous for new player in the cryptocurrency. FUD and other phenomenon that we can see everyday in cryptocurrency is really a big problem, especially it brings big affect on traders.

how bitcoin reach the moment like this is great, but the worst case is, it also can hit to bottom rank again.

I do not understand how to compare this, BTC is a digital currency, can not be compared to the paper money, because they do not have a common measure to calculate. So I find this comparison not authentic. If you can convert to a common currency and compare it to be true.

bitcoin as as the largest currencies in the world is a vision and not the picture of the present.  bitcoin is still thriving and trying to gain balance especially in some countries that it has been ban openly

Yes, with the current and the incoming price of bitcoin that will increase further after the rise of the bull market, there is a great possibility for bitcoin improve it's currency ranking worldwide from the 6th place up to the top 3 currencies in the world. I think that someday, once bitcoin is already accepted worldwide then an increase number of people will be added and contribute to the rise of price value of bitcoin.

To me Bitcoin is an asset like gold and it also can be used as currency. Bitcoin is a digital decentralized by nature it is not controlled by any government or Bank as fiat currency is controlled. Bitcoin is a peer to peer transaction done by the user himself there is no third party involvement .  Now Bitcoin is the worlds sixth largest circulating currency in the world and it will overtake the next highest circulating currency even though there are several opponents in Bitcoin.

It seems to me that it isn't correct to compare bitcoins and national currencies because national currencies are supported by the economy.

It is an exceptional result if we think that other currencies, with the exception of the euro, have existed for decades, while the BTC was born only 10 years ago.

yes, today bitcoin has attracted a lot of big investors, and also many people are interested in bitcoin. everywhere everyone talking about bitcoin.

but because many countries do not accept bitcoin, and even against bitcoin, so bitcoin does not become number 1.

but I'm sure, the bitcoin in everyone who understands bitcoin is number 1. especially in my heart, bitcoin is number 1.

I think bitcoin must first complete FUD to be no.1, because FUD will inhibit bitcoin growth.

one of the inhibiting factors is that many people are still afraid of bitcoin, their fear because of the many interventions that affect the public with the negative thing.

I'm sure today many people are interested in bitcoin, but because the world agreed to resist bitcoin, bitcoin finally was in position no.6
