FWIW: Hosting prices were actually reduced so that we can hash profitably for longer. Also: -R- opted to do payouts on the 1st and 15th since he's handling payouts for these rounds. Just means the payouts are about 1/14th larger and we wait one more day. Cheers! P.S. Apologies to anyone's PMs I missed. Buried w/ my usual PM avalanche on top of work IT emergencies, co-op site redesign, future GB planning, as well as business setup and biz planning on the pro side. Just not enough hours in the day even though I'm down to 3 days right now at the lab.

Buried w/ my usual PM avalanche on top of work IT emergencies, co-op site redesign, future GB planning, as well as business setup and biz planning on the pro side. Just not enough hours in the day even though I'm down to 3 days right now at the lab. Thank you. For combining the 2. I am looking forward to the payout tonight. we are at about 8.66 + 8.51 = 17.18 coins for the 2 rounds. that is around 8.5 btc a round or .085 a share. I have 19 shares or about 1.615 btc all estimated but close. 1.615 at 420 usd is 678 usd. pretty good. To expand on profits.. If you cashed coins each and every day you got paid from this group you would have less then if you had held all the coins up until today. The advantage of cashing out the day of payment in btc is ease of us tax return. you can base your profits in usd more like a gold miner. hold the coins more then a day will complicate your tax calculations.. (why? once you hold the btc for any length of time you need to calculate the loss gain of it for the time held in usd). any how or any way. even if you cashed the btc the day it was paid you will be in the black with todays payout. My 19 shares were 78 usd each or 1482 usd. if I held all coins including todays my total btc would be would be about 6.20 at todays price in usd about 2604. if I cashed the same day I got my btc the prices of btc have moved up I would have only 1529….. Either method of cashing out I am ahead.. one method I am ahead 1122 as 2604 - 1482 = 1122 usd. this was the hold on to your coin method…. I would have 1529 - 1482 = 47 usd the sell right away method…. that extra 1075 is due to btc price rise. kind of like digging up gold in a mine. holding the gold and hoping gold price rises. Or being paid in stock then hold it waiting for a price rise. I have a tax background . I can not say what all rulings will be by the USA on the tax accounting law for these coins. So hold these btc rather then cashing them will affect you tax wise in an unknown way. Cashing them the day you get them is easy to understand profit, but I am not sure if it works better taxwise. My guess is cash them out. but it is a guess What is also nice is the next jump may be under 20% I see 510 to 572 here http://bitcoincharts.com/I see 510 to 608 here http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

Pretty close on the numbers - we're at 17.42 BTC before expenses (the month of free hosting I paid for is over) which will work out to about .0846 BTC per share after. With the Bitstamp price currently being $427, that's about a $36 per share return for two weeks on a GB that was only $78 ($75 + $3 UPS fund) to start with, or a 46% USD return in just these last two weeks. @DZ - it would have been kind of nice to put a link to this thread in the R5 and R6 threads before you locked them....

In USD terms, we've made a 74% profit - $58 over the cost of a share. And yes, I'm expecting that we'll hit break-even in BTC by the end of the year. This turned out well...

To follow up on the chart above at a diff of 609.4 mill and 1.1th of hash we should earn about 1.4 BTC a day each day for both r5 + r6 combined or .7btc for each one apart. right now the wallets have 1 coin each total of 2 coins by the 30th of nov there could be close to 9 btc in each one.
which means we may be at a dividend of .08 a share vs .084 a share.
I have 19 shares so 1.5 btc vs the 1.6 btc is possible.
I cashed for 420 usd last payout so 1.6 x 420 was 672.
If we stay on track next payout is 1.5 x 478 = 717. So lets all hope for :
1) BTC bull run carries on 2) gear keeps working 3)dZ coop keeps up the good work.
ALL of the above = estimate not real till it happens think counting chickens

Nothing much to report this week. Just hashing and stashing. Next payout coming on Friday, Nov 29th or Saturday the 30th. I will probably cash out whatever namecoins have accumulated since the last time I sold them and add them to the up and coming payout.

It may be that the next adjustment comes about Thanksgiving Thursday or black Friday. Since KNC has been slow to ship and no one else has shipped a lot of gear we could get a low jump like we did last diff adjustment. Short term this mean our KNC r5-r6 may whale away for 5 days plus the new adjustment of under 20% for 10 more days or so. this would also be true for the r9-r12 black arrow rigs. I always pop up with early projections. So counting chickens is not the best practice. Still looks like 15 -16 days at decent diff. the current 609 mill then 720 mill (a guess). I am Hoping for this btc price bull run to at last past Christmas into early next year. As a tax tip. cashing in coins on Jan 1-10 of 2014 means taxes will be due April 15, 2015. Cashing in coins from now until dec 31st means tax will be due on them April 15, 2014. These tax facts have caused many price drops in stocks in early Jan year after year. So I suspect that the stock aspect of BTC may mean a Jan. sell off. Myself I am doing the coins come in cash them out method. I may put in for a few more shares of buy 17 when our dividends get paid this week. Once again hats off to the guys running this. Thomas, Bob,DZ thanks again for doing the right thing. As for selling the rig I wonder if should consider selling it for 10 btc (8k) we can get 14.25btc for it. based on this auction: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=341620.0 180gh went for 4.75 btc untested un proven gear. our rig is tested and works we hash at 550gh. I figure it earns about 5-6 btc in the next 2 weeks we should have good diff the next 2 weeks. I lean towards hashing till the 10 of dec or longer.

Sold the 86 namecoins we've accumulated for 0.61 BTC - so we'll have a little bonus addition to the next payout. It's hard to believe that we're now up 300% in USD terms, and it looks like we'll continue to be profitable well into December, maybe even into January...

Excellent, luckily for this GB HashFast appears to be blowing up, so there probably won't be a huge difficulty jump in late December.

We now have R19 Neptune set up by request from our co-op. However, I can't believe the prices that people are actually *still* paying on ebay for these: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_nkw=knc+jupiter&LH_Complete=1&rt=ncWhat's the general consensus on this? Even w/ ebay's awful fees, we'd still all stand to gain by selling soon, if that's what our majority want. A sale at this price is likely to be well over what the unit will generate (unless BTC prices continue to skyrocket). If so: let me know as I need to go get my PayPal acct. out of limited status (they're not happy when you do a CC chargeback on BFL Jallys outside PayPal's 45 day refund window). That or we'll sell it thru Thomas's or Philip's account, if he's game. Starting a vote. Please vote and tell your friends and tell other R5-6 co-op members to vote if you'd like to influence this vote. Also: please follow up with a PM or public vote, including your number of share votes. We'll hold voting thru Saturday evening. Hopefully everyone will have stopped by before then. Please also feel free to discuss the pros vs. cons of this early sale. Thanks!

makes sense . now if I list it . we need to figure out a way to prevent charge backs. I would be honest to say I love the sell it idea but we may be better off selling it right here on this site. look at this auction right here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344948.0 they got 4.75 btc for a 180gh machine.. no one knows if the machine is good. we have a 550gh working machine if we got 3x that it would be 14.25btc for a machine no chargebacks. the price when that machine sold was 800 usd btc is now 936. I would think someone would buy this at more then 10 btc in an auction easy. we could set the first bid at 8 btc that is break even price . so we would have paid 0 for the shares. and all dividends are your profit.

in thinking more we could auction off both machines set a minimum at 8btc run the model like this auction https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344948.0 if we got 10btc for each machine which is possible.. that is about 20btc at 950 usd or 19000. plus all the dividends. and bob could still host to the winner of the auction until either the winner came to pick it up had it shipped off or told bob keep hosting. selling 2 machines at auction on this site could net us 19.5k or 97.50 usd a share we paid in 79 usd a share IIRC. not counting all the btc we already got plus the btc due to us. on the 30th of nov. (about 11btc for the 2 buys and growing) if the auctions did well we may get 12 or 13 btc for each one that is 25btc and 11btc for the dividends = 36btc or near 36000 across both buys comes to 180 usd a share. plus whatever we got on the oct 15 oct 30 nov 15 payments. My dad was a compulsive gambler he bet all he had all the time. He used to tell me whenever you have a chance to have a certain winner always do it. The idea of converting this buy into close to 36000 usd with the sale of the 2 machines and the upcoming dividends really appeals to me. Quite a bit. I already cashed all payments as they came so at this point in time for every 100 in I got 102 back. If the sales above worked I would clear about 3420 usd. from it. I have already cashed for 1522 usd so that would mean all my income on this = 4942 I paid in 1482 . that is a good deal.

sell I have 19 share 10 in r5 and 9 in r6 or maybe 9 in r5 and 10 in r6 but either way I have 19 shares combined. My 1 condition is I would like to try an auction here with BTC only and a minimum bid say 8tc which is about 8k. this really stops all charge back issues. Based on the lack of gear and our coop's rep We should get 8btc easy much more base on this auction https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=344948.0

as a price point ant miner is selling a non auction right here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348747.0 they ask 4.25 BTC for a 180 gh machine. this is a flat price. seems to me we could list our 1 for 11 BTC it would be a bargain compared to the 180 gh x 3 = 12.75 for 540 gh for unproved tech. while we would be 11 BTC for 550gh proven tech.

Thanks! How about selling one (with a starting price +$25k) and keeping the other, distributing hashrate and proceeds between both R5 & R6?
Let's take a minute here to define EXACTLY what we are talking about here otherwise a vote is meaningless. When I first read this thread and voted the above quotes were what I based my vote on, But with this as an option as a price point ant miner is selling a non auction right here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=348747.0 they ask 4.25 BTC for a 180 gh machine. this is a flat price. seems to me we could list our 1 for 11 BTC it would be a bargain compared to the 180 gh x 3 = 12.75 for 540 gh for unproved tech. while we would be 11 BTC for 550gh proven tech. I would probably change my vote. Starting at 20 or 25K but then considering 11btc (11K) is half of what I voted on. In order to make this valid I believe we need to set a price that we sell at, anything less than that and we keep hashing. Its hard to vote when the target is changing by 50% or more

If we ebay this, how would funds be distributed? And how do you protect yourself against chargebacks?
I'm FOR selling as long as it's ridiculously in our favor (like ebay).
Selling for 11BTC isn't really in our favor. That's only .055 btc payout per share and we're still .24/share in the red.
As it stands now, I'm holding on my 4 R6 votes until we get more details.

USD would be converted to BTC at current exchange rate at time of funds hitting the bank account, to prevent chargebacks the only thing that can be done would be requiring signature confirmation on delivery.

OK - sounds like we have a short-term opportunity (reduced selling fees) that makes this an even better possibility. So we are comparing selling a Jupiter (two workers in R6, total about 550-600GH/s) that is producing ~1 BTC every 2 days, for ~$20K. If $/BTC rises at approximately the Difficulty rise, it means that we would lose any income past the next 40 days, roughly. Correspondingly, we would capture (eliminate the uncertainty) effectively the next 40 days of income all at once.
Assuming this is a reasonably accurate description of the circumstances, I vote my 37 shares to sell.
Please, anyone, point out any misunderstandings or bad assumptions!

as I see it ebay is risky. while I have the 50 max cap on the fees Which is nice . I could be on the hook for 20k on a charge back . an ebay listing would need to be inventive to protect the seller. btc is a must transferred to our group btc address and give the goods. the charge back risk is very high. If this sold on ebay at 15k and everything tanks not good in a month. read this listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/KNC-Kncminer-Jupiter-Bitcoin-Miner-550-GH-s-in-Hand-USA-Ships-FedEx-/291022844481?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item43c2503241If I listed this way and it goes to 16k and 1 btc is 1000 usd we get 16 coins. if he puts the 16 BTC in the account as directed. and the coop ships it to him. I am not so sure if he wants to fuck me in 30 days that he can't. My ebay business has been around a long time I am not so sure I want to put it at risk. for 16BTC vs 11 BTC since I only get about 10 percent of the sale. I have 19 of the 200 shares. so of the extra 4 or 5 BTC on ebay . I would see an extra 400 or 500 bucks. I do a lot of sales on ebay. I have a shitload of accounts that could be attacked on a chargeback. BUT an auction on this site I like start it at 8btc for 1 machine . it should go to 10-12 btc. no return risk and we still have the other machine to mine with. my thoughts are this is a better way to sell. It also means we will be half right and half wrong. What I mean by this is either selling both machines or keeping both machines maxes our gain or loss. an all or nothing concept. while keeping one and selling one averages the gain or loss.

I am concerned with the ebay chargebacks + paypal fees We could do an auction with min. bid.
We could also host on ebay but ask the user to pay with btc (with escrow) If we do the two things above I vote with my 10 shares.

After we get the next dividend we will have more house money making decision a bit easier. In a way there are 3 votes not 2 .. 1)do a safe btc auction on bitcointalk----get 10-12 safe coins pros no returns con less money 2) do a risky ebay auction ------------- get 18-21 risky coins pros more money can't stop a return 3) fuck it just hash man hash------------ the next diff should be under 700 mill we would earn 5 btc maybe 6 from dec 1 to dec 13

I'm not opposed to any of the above options, would just like to know which one is being voted on so I can make the best decision. So I guess the first decision to be made is which auction would we do? Once that is known the vote to keep or sell could be made as we would then know the expected return from the sale. Are there any other options or possibilities that should be put forward before a decision is made?

correct. and my skrill account is set at 15k so for them to pay with skrill they would need to wait for it to clear and pay part of it in BTC. that would mean weeks before they get it.
the down side is they bid and we accept and they never pay. that would cost use 50-250 usd not sure if the 50 dollar fee deal works if the buyer never pays.
We could list it for a more normal number of 24,000.00 and accept an offer of 20,000 plus . I hold the btc until it is shipped then distribute it. I can provide id to dz for full vetting.

There shouldn't be any fee if the item is not paid for, you simply open a ticket saying that the item wasn't paid.

There shouldn't be any fee if the item is not paid for, you simply open a ticket saying that the item wasn't paid. yeah you would be right but I am not so sure as I just set up the skrill account today. If you want to list it since you handled all the btc you need to setup a skrill account .. they need a:ssn b:cc c: bank account they set your limit at 15k in or out, so if we sell this for say 20k on a best offer the buyer must pay with BTC. This gets rid of the chargeback issue. So if you want to look up on your ebay if you can do a skrill for payments check it out. oh the listing must be buy it now. I put in a best offer option. Since it helps a buyer decide. If we list this at 24 or 25 k and take 20 k or more this seems like it should be safe for us. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=151176625724&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT the listing I slapped together but the key part is this: Payments: Skrill, Pay on pickup | See details Returns: No returns or exchanges, but item is covered by eBay Buyer Protection. Guarantee: | Learn more Get the item you ordered or get your money back.
and this Payment: Paying via bitcoin is prefered. Bitcoin to USD rate will be determined by Coinbase sell price at close of auction. If I do not receive payment in 48 hours I will award to the next highest bidder. I will provide wallet address to the winner. I will not ship until payment clears SKRILL. So if you choose SKRILL there will be a long delay. weeks. If you pay with BTC shipping will be the next business day.

So getting 20 k with out a charge back seems possible. BTC payment can be forced or the buyer needs to wait for weeks for the gear. the full cancelled ad is here http://www.ebay.com/itm/KNC-Kncminer-Jupiter-Bitcoin-Miner-550-GH-s-in-Hand-USA-Ships-FedEx-/151176625724?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT BTW BTC is over 1005 at coinbase. https://coinbase.com/chartsOh I don't beg but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out a chargeback free ebay sale today. the item needs to be a) over 15000 usd b) you need a skrill account c) must be Buy it now and it helps to have best offer d) you are allowed to offer BTC as preferred payment and one electronic payment in this case skrill. my skrill account is capped at 15 k . so if I sell over 15k with skrill i would need 2 payments with a long delay in between. thus any normal buyer would pay in BTC which stops chargebacks. tips please 1Fo2K52Rz7LZw9fcF5BDdDBjfNaViQ8J3x this will help our selloff of gear in the future. even if we wait on this one.

BTW, I've got *great* relations with Coingig if we felt like listing it there.
I helped the admins uncover a couple of scams there, and I'm a fan of their setup and site.
==
Also: I like the suggestion of doing a separate vote for sale method.
I'll mod the poll and reset voting.
Please don't forget to check your email if you'd like to vote.
Thanks.

Honestly, could we simply rely on the email poll that was sent out, and then decide WHERE to sell it? I agree that we should sell it, but until we get more info on what is better (Coingig vs Ebay), the most important thing that we should be discussing is whether to go through the motions to sell it or to keep mining.

as a quick aside. diff is set to move up late fri the 29th. It looks like the jump will be around 609 to 711 about 16%. if that is true the knc earns about .39 coins a day.
.39 coins a day from the 30th to the 11th would be about 4.8 coins. or about 5k . based on the test listing we could get 22k. I am thinking we have to sell one.
Whether on ebay with the skrill-BTC pay option or on another site.

So as I approximately calculated the votes, there is around 50% of R5 for selling (plus some more votes from R6)

If you could sell on the upper end of $25k then my vote goes to selling BOTH unit's.
If you can only sell for just a 'modest' $15k - ~$22k (other words not selling it on e-bay) and keep the other hashing.
I've PMed you as I might be able to help with regards to escrow.
Sell Both If $22k+ | Sell Just One If < $22k | 6 Shares R5 | 4 Shares R6

Just got back from a 200 mile round trip to do Turkey Day. To all USA people happy T Day one day late. To all none USA people we have a lot to be thankful for if we are in on buys r5-r6
Diff will change in 1 hour looks to be at 705 mill just under 16%. so our 550gh knc will earn about .39 btc a day for 11 days. coin base is at 1100 usd.
so 11 days x .39 = 4.29 coins x 1100 = 4729 usd. my feelings are this. we have 2x machines .. we are really far ahead. I do not want an all or nothing mentally .
1)sell both = we are really smart if coins drop and dumb if coins go up the downside is coins got to 10000usd. the upside is if coins go to 100usd
2)keep both = we are really smart if coins go up and dumb if coins drop the downside is coins drop to 100usd. the upside is if coins go to 10000 usd.
3)sell one and keep one ====== I want to do this. if we get 25k or more for the one. we will be half right and half wrong. but still make a lot of cash. so this is my pick
I figure for number 1 if we sell 2 at 50k it sounds good and if coins do 10000 a coin we lose a chance to make serious money.
I figure for number 2 if we sell none and coins drop to 100 a coin we lose close to 50k
I figure for number 3 if we split the baby we get 25k for sure and at 100 a coin we do meh but at 10000 a coin we still have 1 machine.
So I like selling one and keeping one.
I would sell both.
Holding both knc's smacks of greed and I really do not want to hold both. to me holding both is the only way to lose a good score.

Well, since it's clear that the majority of people who responded to the poll here want to sell, perhaps we should make a new poll asking where to sell, and how many to sell? I'm personally in favor of selling at least one, however I would be OK with selling both of them.

I agree with the above. First choice sell one for around 25k and hold the other Second choice sell both for around 50 k. And the adjustment has happened.. 707.4 mill up from 609.5 about 15.6%

Yeah the chance to sell a knc at 20K + will not last a long time. Unless coins go up to the moon. hash fast may really come out with gear. ant miner may mass produce. BTC may drop to 200 usd.
fun times for the next few weeks.

Perhaps DZ or another coop head could create a Google survey? I would like to get the ball rolling on this ASAP. I could potentially create it and then give the link to a coop head so they could send it out in a survey.

okay not quite sure about the math. r5 + r6 = 200 shares……. 80 percent of 200 shares is 160. so if 101 of the 160 shares want to sell. that makes for 101 out of 200 or 101 to 99. That would be more then half the shares .

OK - here is the R5 and R6 December 1st payout info. The coins will be winging their way to your wallets shortly In USD terms, the R5 and R6 machines are still generating $15,000 worth of BTC every two weeks - they should remain profitable for at least another 6-8 weeks..

So, can we come to a conclusion as to where we want to sell the miners? I'm thinking that we should avoid Ebay due to Paypal.

the argument for selling 1 and keeping 1 is based not on difficulty but on BTC price. If the BTC drops to 100 usd like it was in sept we really fucked up if we keep both machines. As always I am in the sell one and keep one camp. thus leveling the price risk somewhat. I do agree that diff will be flat for 8 or 9 days. But the nov KNC have shipped a bit and ant miner is ramping up 30 x 180 plus 30 x 180 plus 120 x 180 is 180 x 180 is only 32th knc's nov gear is about 600th . so that is 632th or 10%. I think we jump 20% from 707 to 850 diff. This will make the sell value on the knc drop so If we sell one we lower that risk. Hey I made a profit so whatever people want is cool. But there are downsides to just mining. As long as you are aware of the downsides of just mining I am fine with you picking that over selling one of two. the latest listings show the the 25k price point is no longer around. we had an offer for 23k right now ebay would be 17 or 18k. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.Xknc+miner&_nkw=knc+miner&_sacat=0&_from=R40people saw the price of btc go all over the place on sunday and now are afraid to buy a machine at 25k. hey don't worry in a day or two the btc price could go up to 1500usd and the knc price on ebay could go to 30,000. just remember this is a winning group buy and be happy

If I may say I am USA based and I pay taxes. SO btc roi means 0 to me . When I pay my taxes in APRIL next year. This purchase made roi. and a usd profit. To all that believe in BTC roi fine you can do this. But in most countries btc is translated to the fiat of that country in order to determine gain. I purchased 11 shares here at 123 usd each a total of 1353 if selling this gear off gets us 180 a share I get 180 x 11 = 1980 usd my usa taxes would be 1980usd plus the coins paid to me prior 1.09098806 cashed in on nov 14 for 450 usd and 1.12229538 cashed in for 1122.29 a grand total of : 3552 income against 123 a share x 11 or 1353 this comes to a net of 2199 usd…… So I would be fine with cashing out my chips. this gear has been harder to run so lets get rid of it. My vote is sell it all. r9-r10-r11-r12. my vote for r5+ r6 remains sell 1 keep 1. Report to moderator https://cex.io/r/1/philipma1957/0/We are talking sell on buy r9-10-11-12. I voted a full sale there due to the gear being a bit flakey compared to the KNC in this buy. My vote here is sell one and keep one. I wish all my investments had these problems. LOL

(Hasn't been wrong the past month so I'm not thinking this info is wrong) Internal sources that you're testing? Are they androids with the ability to predict the future? Highly possible Will there be a group buy (or rather, group funding) so we can get some of the profits from selling these bad boys?

I still dont get it why we need to sell for another 16 days , Cointera & Hashfast have not delivered any thing yet.
At this rate, BFL will be the next company to ship something. Not heard any news on that happening yet from a close , inside source at BFL

the argument for selling 1 and keeping 1 is based not on difficulty but on BTC price. Easy & simple way of going forward.

OK - here is the R5 and R6 December 1st payout info. The coins will be winging their way to your wallets shortly In USD terms, the R5 and R6 machines are still generating $15,000 worth of BTC every two weeks - they should remain profitable for at least another 6-8 weeks.. That's amazing that in USD ROI terms, just this half month almost generated more per share than we paid for 1 share, thanks to Bitcoin's rise in value, and thanks to other manufacturers not shipping miners yet. The majority voted to sell this miner and we will if that's what the majority want. We could probably get $18K-ish for it. For the sake of simple math: Assuming each miner makes $15K each month, that $18K only represents about 5-6 weeks worth of mining at current BTC values. Shall we still sell or revisit this in a few weeks?

I dont understand, why almost everybody calculate with bitcoin price. The price (mainly increase) wont affect us, if we sell it or not. The only thing that matter is difficulty. If we sell it and difficulty goes down, then we made mistake (highly unprobable). We can mine around 12-17 BTC this year and about 23-40 BTC at all. So if we sold it at $28k, we could earn about 28 BTC now! Thats almost the same amount we can mine next year. Again, the price of BTC affect us only, if it goes down. But when we have our bitcoins in hand, we can decide, if we want to hold them or sell them. Not with BTC which will be mined in two, three months.

I think we should hold for one more round of dividend payment on 16/12/13 & then sell these units because bitcoin difficulty is not going go up drastically up in 15 days from now even if Cointera & hashfast start to ship.. which seems very unlikely Edit just found out that BFL Monarchs are going to hit difficulty hard in about ~4 weeks time , lets sell these asap !!!!

Left my personal feelings on the poll. I would be happy to sell both of my r5 shares (if we netted 20k+ per machine) and roll over the money into R17 for hopefully more hashrate come February.

Philip, if we can still somehow get that price, I suppose we should go for it. For now: I've listed it on our site as used at $22K, if anyone wants to pay the "Buy It Now" price I have listed there: http://www.dzminercoop.com/?p=1150This price is approx. 3x the USD value of miner we paid for alone, let alone the miner payouts we've already received. Will also list it on the Auctions or Sales forum now too, starting at $18K.

Hate BFL so much, they FINALLY sent me my piddly little single and I had NO CHOICE but to pay the $250 custom's and brokerage cuz it came to Canada. If I refused delivery BFL woulda just taken the unit back and given me no refund and i'd be boned. But fortunately there are crazy and foolish people out there lol. I listed it on e-bay and my BFL LS sold for $2300, like .... wow there are some very under informed people out there, but if they want to give me their money they're cool in my books. Anyways, what the heck is going on here. We had a TINY window to decide to sell one or both on e-bay and now they sell on there for a fraction of what this idea was, no more $22k Jupiter's. Why do we need a UNANIMOUS vote when several of the investor's in the R5/R6 program's are never going to vote because they invested just to get a bi-weekly payout and not have to proceed with any further communication's with you guy's, they just did it for the payout. I know this cuz I was going to be one such person, I didn't care what e-mail's/forum post's etc. were posted about the R5/R6 project, I just wanted to see some BTC sent to my wallet every other week until the 6 month mark. Now the price of BTC tanked 50% in one day, and managed to grow back up to around $900,this is still a huge drop. If the Winklevoss Brother's decide to liquidate their Venture Capital in BTC the entire value of BTC could crumble to nothing and you can't sell these Jupiter's for those crazy $2x,000 that you only had a small window to do so. There's an overwhelming 58.6% of people who voted on the poll voting to sell one (or possibly both) unit's on e-bay, so why are we still waiting as our options reduce in what we'll get in return every single day. When BFL fucks everyone again and their Monarch's start pushing the difficulty up at a fast pace the nearly 1 BTC payout's I was receiving based on my investment are gonna drop to like one bitcent. The last two payout's alone went from about 0.75 BTC to 0.44 BTC. It's clear that the value of KnC's Jupiter's to contribute to the total hashing rate on the network is going to go down rapidly with Monarch's, Neptune's, etc. Which are either already shipping or just weeks away from it. Why haven't you kept any of us updated, i've been looking for weeks now day after day for you to announce the decision you've made. I gather from reading through difficult to find information that you're , selling one (or both I don't know, you never mentioned) that you've got one (or both) listed for sale on here .... for $22k ?!?! I don't know how out of date this information is cuz as I said i've not been updated at all, and even after offering you an escrow service though -R- did msg me he forwarded it to the GB coordinators, it's been a WEEK and i've heard nothing. (thank you -R-, you're like one of the few whose actually given me any sort of information as time goes on). A week is like an eternity right now, companies are Industrializing bitcoin mining and every single day the total network hashrate is growing fast, and who every thought that BTC would stay at $1500? It's slid to under a grand already in just a matter of a few day's. You'll never sell those Jupiter's for $22k, on here or on e-bay, so what is this group buy going to do? Are we going to just keep hashing at an exponentially reduced rate of BTC generation? I look forward to my 0.04 BTC next payout (SARCASM), but just want to know what the hell is this GB/project going to do? I also need you to tell me if you want my help in offering the escrow service of a business i'm a member of or not? It could let you list it in several other online market's (that would only otherwise accept PayPal). If you don't then please just tell me because i'm only holding my account there for the purpose of helping you and want to sell that account if you guy's don't want/need the use of a secure escrow (Tor based). I'm sorry to sound so rude/angry, but i'm frustrated and upset because no one is telling me shit and I dropped nearly a grand on this group buy to who are all stranger's to me and I want, no NEED to know what the hell you're going to do? Are you selling 1, selling 2, gonna keep hashing with 1 or 2 of the Jupiter's? Where are you selling them? Do you even think they'll sell at the price your asking? Do you want escrow so you have more marketplaces to sell them on (legal marketplaces!) ? Is it even worthwhile to sell them since you just sat on your hands in the very short window where the unit's could have been sold for a lot of money on e-bay (I only see a handful of listing's now and most are for about $7500, I only see one listing that's up to $15k (lucky guy). The price of BTC has slid already back down to ~$900. If you already have made a decision then why haven't you told the investor's? (or maybe you did, but you didn't tell me anything or post in here anything of relevance). I don't want BTC 3 weeks from now (from a unit sale if you did decide to sell them), it's value as far as i'm concerned is not congruent with waiting weeks on end and being totally in the dark. All i've gathered is that you've had two offer's for $23k each, but on e-bay and I don't know when that was. I will gladly give you my account (but want my $400 it cost to get the account ) on a service that only accept's BTC and uses a legitimate escrow service if either of those offerer's are willing to buy the unit's with BTC. Yes it's on the 'dark net .. undernet ... whatever you want to call it, the majority of what we call the internet!' I won't lie, it's a business that sell's contraband, hence the undernet and need for BTC payment only, but it has no CP (o god if I ever saw CP i'd throw up on my computer) and sells a variety of goods. All i'd need do (or you as i'd be giving you the account login and password and the account would be yours ... so I can't intervene or whatever) is create a CUSTOM listing with no information in it (to keep the contraband side away from the ... need to sell Jupiter's side) and have one of those potential user's buy the listing, only caveat is the only form of payment is BTC. Ship tracked and the site's coordinator's will ensure his BTC are released from escrow to you (i've made hundreds of sales, i'm absolutely confident and certain your money will be released from escrow to you). I honestly don't care if you want to use an escrow service or not, i'm just describing that I can help, and since nobody knows how to GPG encrypt me a msg (my pub key is at bottom if you change your mind) I have to explain all this out in plaintext blah. All I care to know is ... what are you guys doing RIGHT NOW (not what your plans are) regarding the R5/R6 GB? One day can destroy all your plan's, you can't be waiting when all this hardware is popping up that pushes out multi THash/s. I just want to know what today, December 9 your decision has been and what you ARE doing right now, not what you WILL be doing? Okay coming up on a btc payout.. the two rigs are at the 8.5 btc mark on the 14 of dec. plus NMC which I do not know how many of them. 8.5 /200 equals .0425 btc a share. we may earn .5 btc more and we may cash some nmc out. so the .0425 btc a share should be close to what we get on sunday. I have 19 shares or about .8 btc for my shares. All quick estimates but close. https://blockchain.info/address/13fGQGmb6Xi576ppJTkeXk34yDDRmvxjm4https://blockchain.info/address/19NAwha8LGpRFEBwRgjH5ZMB9YyXeqyY9V our 2 wallets. edit we have 9 coins now so If expenses are .5 8.5 will be paid out and shares will be .0425 each

Well, here are the official numbers for you - payouts turned out to be just a tiny bit more than your calculated .042 I usually do the namecoin sale for the last payout of the month, so those will be added into the next (Dec 31st) payout. Payouts - to be distributed shortly:

24 HOUR BTC 0.25006600
Hope you don't mind - Like any good shopkeeper with a product that hasn't moved: I've changed the site price to $18K BTC Buy it Now price on our site for one of the R5/R6 miners. == Also, I'm sorry master of digits, but I didn't see your Dec. 9 msg. and I apologize that one of the other co-op leaders didn't cover this. No excuse, but there's about 50+ threads I've started or been a major part of, I have about 90 pages of PMs, and we get hundreds of site support tickets because BTC mining interest has taken off. It's no excuse, but honestly, shit happens. I've also been super busy meeting investors and company founders, on top of my day job to get you guys these deals. An important note: we didn't need a unanimous decision but a majority decision, which we did get. When we did have a majority vote I listed this on the auctions forum, our site, and authorized philipma1957 (and any other co-op member with high ebay ratings) to list this on ebay *if* they could set it up in such a way that we don't get screwed by PayPal. Democracy can move slowly sometimes but I'll tell you about the difficult balancing act that I, personally, have to walk as one of the co-op leader/founders. Even I can't move quickly in some things, when it comes to dealing with other people's BTC or hardware. In a democracy, not everyone is going to be happy all of the time. We *really*, *really* needed to make sure that we wouldn't get screwed over by a PayPal chargeback, which is the avenue which would've yielded the highest price...at the highest risk. How would you feel if ebay/PayPal seized $26K of *your* funds for half a year because some person did an illegal chargeback on their PayPal shares that they purchased from -R-? He was doing this at no extra fee (sometimes even eating some of the Tx costs, without even charging any fees for his below cost GB shares, and that's how he gets re-paid. Lovely One person ruined this payment method for everyone else and pissed off all of the co-op leaders to not want to do future business with ebay. I say it was an illegal chargeback because the scammer got *exactly* what was promised, it was delivered at below cost, made a profit off this, and anonymously is *still* receiving payouts! Yes, that still sticks in our collective craw, and this most accessible escrow/sales method is something we're not fond of with their high fees. If there was an ebay chargeback, guess who would be footing the bill? It wouldn't be the co-op members that have already been paid out, that's for sure... == As for true escrow: we'd love to team up with escrow pros. True escrow with licensing and bonding requirements is an expensive proposition.

24 HOUR BTC 0.25006600
Hope you don't mind - Like any good shopkeeper with a product that hasn't moved: I've changed the site price to $18K BTC Buy it Now price on our site for one of the R5/R6 miners. I wouldn't even complain if you went as low as 8-12k with current BTC prices/difficulty. yeah 10k works or even 8k in btc works (must be sent out to us quickly) the paypal /ebay thing was so fast I am not sure we ever really could have made that deal come together. but I am still able to do ebay with skrill payments and no paypal - ebay. I am also allowed to say any item over 15k takes 90 days to clear and will be a 90 day delay. thus I prefer BTC . but selling 1 knc is not going to be a 15k sale. we need a dZcoop member to set up a skrill account for ebay. fast payment with skrill is under 15k . it would be a good tool for the coop to have. if we ever want to drop the hammer on a big ebay sale and force payment in btc.

No news on anyone contacting us to buy our miner at the co-op site. A cross listing on an eBay listing by a vet member that doesn't mind PP could be useful. Merry Christmas everyone! If you celebrate or don't celebrate this holiday, my toast of good cheers to you and yours is still the same. I'm thankful for our customers and I'm thankful for you co-op members that have helped make this co-op the success it is today by helping us improve things over time and helping one another out with knowledge. 5 months ago I had no idea I'd form the biggest public co-op in the world for BTC mining. It's an honor to be the founder and co-leader of a co-op full of so many like minded miners, and I'm both humbled by our success and very thankful to have met my co-leaders, which has resulted in round after round of world class values, and a crypto umbrella company founded upon the core of the DZ MC (with the co-op shielded as a sub-company). Here's to a successful 2014!

Were aware of this, the jupiters are showing that they are hashing and submitting shares but they don't seem to be getting accepted. (by accepted I mean btcguild isn't recognizing them, the jupiters page shows that they are)

I have no idea. Im sitting nex to them... and they are hashing. We may need to swap pools, but im going to shut them off and cold booth them so see if that helps. A bunch of the bigger hashrate accounts on BTCguild got overpaid yesterday so the balances were set to a negative number and the miners had to mine their way out of a deficit. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=49417.msg4206229#msg4206229. My account is paying back positive now. We were also in a time of not so good luck on the pool. This may or may not be all of the problem with these, but I would bet it would explain some of it. Regards,

Guys/Gals: bobsag3 had to take the miners down for 12-18 hours. It could be as many as 24-28 hours, but should be in the lower range.
I'm sorry, I'm apologizing now on behalf of the team. We were planning for an early Jan. move but plans became accelerated and we're moving to the bigger/better location right now.
We'll have word of some compensation worked out with Miner Hosting LLC once they're back online. On the bright side...we're going to have much more capacity and pro employees that are miners and/or IT experts manning the new facility.

No the gear wasn't messed with, it seems that for some reason some of the KNC Jupiters are refusing to submit shares to the pools, they are being worked on one by one to find out what the problem is. Its one of those there on, they are showing that they are hashing but actually aren't.

well thomas as I read that thread. it sounds like our gear was fucked with. the op even mentions that a knc machine owner would be unable to get credit for hashing.
Now I am not saying the op did this to us. And I managed to really piss a lot of people off on that thread. but it looks like either he hacked us or someone else did a hack to our gear.

well thomas if you read that thread. it sounds like our gear was fucked with. the op even mentions that a knc machine owner would be unable to get credit for hashing.
All of the miners have been behind routers and used passwords, problem is until knc releases some sort of fix there isn't anything we can do if this is the problem.

(sounds like us) a suggestion for r15+ r16 use a crazy long hard password to protect those machines.

now i am more confused. please look at side by side screen shots. should not the hash be split 50-50 the charts show a 100 -0 and a 50 -50 for me it is not a big deal as I have 10 shares in round 5 and 9 shares in round 6 , but if you only have r6 you are getting 0 from 1 machine and 50% from the other machine. while if you are only in r5 you are getting 100% from 1 machine and 50% from the other.

The Jupiter in r6 is acting like the one in 15/16 was...it just doesn't want to hash its been rebooted multiple times today half the time it doesn't even appear on the network The fix for r15/16's was it just started by itself not to yell or complain or shout but the original terms for buy 5+6 are guaranteed hash. so one machine is now about .75 btc the other is about 1.5btc since the payout on the 15th. so that is a .75btc shortfall the shortfall that happen due to the move was about 2-2.5 coins so the 5+ 6 rounds are short 2.75 to 3.25 coins. I made a lot of fiat on this pair of rounds. But this is an older buy and the coop lacks protection in the terms written. it is only a small short fall but the round 9 -12 shortfall is bigger more like 15-18btc and even though I don't keep track rounds 15+16 have a shortfall maybe 7 btc. All of these were written up in such a way that the coop owes that btc. In fact the new website has changed terms which was smart and has claimed if gear is broken and the manufacturer does not address the problem the coop is not to blame. this fair in my opinion We do have a problem with at least 3 sets of rounds. lets say 3 + 20 + 7 = 30 btc that the coop has guaranteed and not paid. For me my rounds 5-6 and 9-12 are winners and have turned a usd profit But many are not happy about 5-6 9-12 and lastly 15-16 this white elephant has now been addressed for the newer rounds by correctly placing the problem on a manufacturers shoulders which is only fair. I do worry about this 'missing' 'unpaid' coins causing us trouble in the furture. mostly if btc takes off in price. 30 x 800 = 24000 usd not that bad. 30 x 5000 = 150,000 usd a bigger problem. Note the estimates of 3 btc 20 btc and 7 btc for the rounds 5,6 9-12 15,16 are rough and not exact.I would like a good solution to these since they cause a weakness in the coop. Lets face it if round 17 has a 20% shortfall like rounds 9-12 have had at times people will be very angry. The way I read rounds 17 is the coop is protected from legal action better then rounds 5,6 9-12 and 15,16. So my thoughts are a round 17 fuck up of 20% may cause people to attack the coop over rounds 5,6 9-12 15,16. Basically because they are an easier target. For me I am cool since I made fiat on my shares in 5,6 and 9-12. So if rounds 17 are 'bad' I am not running to a courtroom. I just feel that simply saying: the coop will fix these early rounds because it is smart to do so.I also feel round 17 should fully disclose that if the gear is shit and black arrow is to blame the coop is not on the hook. I would sign off to that clause on 17 with no worries at all. But I don't want a mass attack against the coop for these early 'winner' rounds. When I read on rounds 5,6 9-12 and 15,16. Each and every one of these are fiat winners and a shit load of investors are still pissed off at making fiat and not making btc. I do worry that if round 17 is both a fiat and a btc loser people will be out for blood so to speak.

Round 9-12 actually never had any type of guarantee, they said each share was 1/100th the total hashrate of the machines, which if the bitfury's aren't actually hashing that means 1/100th of 0 = 0. You were purchasing a percentage of the mining power of the machine / percentage of the machine if a machine fails you own part of it. For the "how are we trying to fix the miner", the only thing we can do is reboot it right now and send an email to knc, its not even displaying that its on our network that it's plugged directly into. The R15/16 one magically started to work, it wasn't working when we left for the night and it was working when we came in in the morning.

When will KNC answer? Maybe you should try that: http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/hardware/24281-november-saturn-jupiter-troubleshooting-guideEdit: I mean in general the SD Card image recovery method. Another link with all the infos you need: http://forum.kncminer.com/forum/main-category/main-forum/11263-urgent-dl-d-the-recovery-file-sd-from-knc-support-now-how-do-i-apply-it-to-my-minerIf you did that, and it still does not work it is hardware related and then you can write a mail to KNC.

R5/6 Update: As mentioned in the R15/16 threads, these Jupiters have been finicky.
I apologize for the inconvenience but Miner Hosting LLC has decided to ship these Jupiters to another vetted miner hosting facility in the US. They will be hosted at a DZMC vetted miner facility, with our 4th vetted miner host at a top notch hosting facility.
At the end of the month: DZMC veteran member thyatis will be taking over the hosting for these Jupiters in Florida. He has prior experience with a variety of different miners.
His setup includes:
- 120V or 220V power - Triple network redundancy - APC UPS units capable of 8 hours of backup time for 6 Jupiters - Gas generators for longer outages - Dedicated air conditioning for the miners
To compensate DZMC members for downtime during shipping and setup, on hand miners from other mfgs. will be substituted as equivalent hashrate until the Jupiters are up and running again in Florida. BTC earned from this be sent to thyatis, who will be handling payouts after some training, as part of the 1st thru 15th payout.
Please refer questions for miner in Florida. to DZMC vetted Miner Host: thyatis.
Thanks.
EDIT: Thomas will still be handling miner payouts.

Just to clarify: I will compensate R5-6 for 1.2thash for 36hrs (much longer than it should take to get them up, if it takes longer it will be extended) R15/16 will get 2.5thash for the same time frame All 6 units will be UPS Overnighted w/ insurance, with delivery before noon, along with the PSUs.

Also: re: BTC for lost hashrate...
I'm not sure where anyone got the idea where we guaranteed hashrate.
We sold/sell chunks of fractional ownership of industrial class rigs that are frankly ALL experimental pieces of equipment. People may have gotten the mistaken assumption because BTC was offered up for problems in our 1 of a kind R9-12 offering of prototype Black Arrow Bitfury boards. That was a unique situation in that we were too optimistic about their performance and *volunteered* guaranteed hashrate for those experimental GB rounds.
As someone who's spent 11 years in the R&D world, please believe me when I say there isn't a TRL 9 equivalent miner on the market except for 1st gen offerings.
Expecting any of these miners to work 100% of the time is just not realistic at this point in time. They rush them out the door barely working and hope to patch things in software and hope people figure things out on their own without manuals or even company tech support.
If people want guaranteed hashrates: well, that's what mining contracts are for, and they're priced at a premium in order to keep to the agreed upon minimum guaranteed SLA.

Hi Everyone,
As it says up there ^^^^ I am taking over the hosting of these machines. I am going to aim at making the transition as smoothly as possible. I have started already preparing the area, and it will have like it says dedicated network, which has triple redundancy. I have ups power that can handle 6 jupiters for 8 hours straight (if not longer). They will have dedicated cooling. I have GAS powered generators if electricity is having some major issues. I have also redundant buildings that I can move too. My motive is to have as much redundancy in as possible. I am extremely experienced in Datacenter development and many other IT fields. I am also consistently active on the forums. If you would like any more information from me send me a PM. Thanks Thyatis

I'm waiting on a share transfer to be finalized before making the 1 February payouts. 11 NMC were sold which added .103 BTC to the R5/R6 wallet.
The R5/R6 wallet currently has 3.583 BTC in it with the addition of the NMC sales - meaning the next payout will be .0179 BTC per share before expenses are subtracted.

Ok - transfer issue dealt with. I don't have anything to do with R17 and don't have any shares in it, so I have no idea what problems you are talking about. Also - I don't get paid for doing this, so I do it when I can. It just so happens that I've been dealing with work problems since Friday afternoon and I haven't gotten more than a couple hours sleep between then and now. Those problems seem to be dealt with finally, so I'm trying to get this done before I crash... Here are the numbers for the R5/R6 payout - this includes the sale of NMC generated through Friday the 31st, and payments into the R5/R6 wallet that happened yesterday. I'll be sending these out shortly:

these will earn 2.5-3 btc for the next payout Obviously the difficulty is going to continue to grow, but if hashfast made delivery, BA made delivery, and cointerra actually shipped. THese miners would be almost worthless. This is just my thoughts and i have no numbers to correlate to it.

Oh i agree but sometimes it is nice to just feel that out of all the delays etc that are going on there is some good. Half glass full..... And it is always good to look at USD$ it makes you feel even betteer.

not sure. no talk from dz these won't earn much and pretty soon the fees to run them will be too high to mine them. sad that dz coop has kind of fallen apart due to round 17. well I have 13 shares left so whatever they decide if they decide anything at all.

-Redacted-, would it be possible to get ahold of a GB leader and tell them that people want this to be sold? At this point, BTC is low enough that we're probably going to make more off of the sale then if we kept mining. We keep discussing this in here but apparently nobody wants to listen to us/comes in this thread anymore.

I am guessing share holder who have not voted have stopped visiting this thread for quite some time , Regard less if jupiters are not going to be making us money due to fees e.t.c sell is the only option regardless of votes.

If anyone does have contact with the other shareholders please get in touch with them. I've been ready to close the deal since the vote has started. I cannot wait much longer though.

Still on the Jupiter hunt? You're relentless man! I ended up keeping mine. Quite happy about it too.

People come on and vote! Have the coin ready so you all can get the final payment but hardly anyone has voted! Matt, Thomas, and Bob can't do anything until the magic number is hit to sell.
Can't they send an e-mail out?

Excellent! How much will we be earning per share (combining the Jupiter sale and the mining up to this time)?

Both miners have been sold - as voted on. The funds from the sale (6.5 BTC) along with the last mining payouts will be distributed to the shareholders. I am just waiting for the BTC from the final sale of the accumulated namecoins to confirm before doing the distribution.
The final R5/R6 distribution will be approximately .0378 BTC per share.

So is it 6.5 or 7.5? And if 6.5, what happened to the other 1 btc? 200 x .0378 = 7.56 we had .75 in earnings so 7.56 - .75 = 6.81 for the gear and .75 for mining he said price did not include shipping and the units are big ... so if we got 6.81 clear that would be ".69 missing" and it is not missing those units are heavy to ship 50 bucks each that is 100 bucks which is .16 btc so now the .69 drops to .53 we did mine for 5 days that is about .13 which drops us to .4btc .. assuming that we were able to sell at 7.5 btc we were slow to get a vote done maybe bob dropped the price a bit to keep the sale alive. for me if .4 btc is really missing out of 7.5 plus .75 total of 8.25 fine who cares at this point. .4 across 200 shares is under .002 a share or less then 1.26 usd a share. consider that a share in this buy earned a lot. and consider that the 'missing' 1.26 a share may not be missing at allwhat I do care about is the .0378 due to me for each share, that is 13 shares a total of .4914 btc even if i should get .0398 a share x 13 or .5174 total it is about .026 short or about 16.64 usd for the work they did and the profit they made for me on this buy i am fine with that. and like I said I am not sure this is even missing. to all that ran this round thank you for a fun ride. I can't wait to buy me another s-1 with this btc. (½ an s-1 as I have the rest in my wallet)
