Winner of this year, ETH or BTC?

In terms of value bitcoin is still going strong even though it drop considerably, it could close the year with a value way ahead of what it currently has, while ethereum keeps dropping day by day, this one could still grow too but only if it keeps innovating more.

Well financially speaking I think that the biggest winner will be bitcoin again, of course I'm talking from now on, since it's difficult to predict what will happen in a few months, from the predictions we have on hand we can say that eth will remain stable but at a low price, but bitcoin I think it has the potential to go even higher, I want to be conservative and say that it will close at 10k by December.

I think Bitcoin will remain king of the crypto wold for a long time.

bitcoin will continue to lead as the oldest coin. too far to follow bitcoin prices. btc and eth have their respective duties. so I don't think eth will overtake bitcoin.

Both coins are the best in his own ways  but i will go for BTC because it is the leading coin in crypto market since 8 years and people believe in BTC most than any other coin. So BTC will be winner.

Bitcoin is still considered as the fast growing crypto coin in the crypto market but at the moment it is also the fast degraded coin also that's why it is doubtful that this is literally happen in the market today. However ethereum has a good status in the market which makes it the appreciable coin in the market today.

I do not see Ethereum take over the position of Bitcoin this year, if the ETF proposal will be accepted, it will be a huge pump for Bitcoin, on the other hand, if not, I don't see a very significant price movement happening.

ETH would transcend Bitcoin or not, I couldn't state without a doubt. Except if lightning system of ETH will be dispatch or if Bitcoin's LN won't work it can happen when that occasions would happen yet to the extent I can see ETH's esteem are being dumped continously that is the reason we shouldnt be anticipating significantly more should this stage.

Hello everyone!
Recently, I was thinkig. Is there really any reason for the BTC to be the market leader? The only thing that is giving the value to BTC is pretty much the fact, that it was the first crypto currency. It is the grandfather of all cryptos. But we know it has its flaws... It was never designed for broad usage, it has scaling issues and so on.

On the other hand, we were given ETH. The Crypto Kitties or w/e the awesome internet meme ETH appliction is called showed us, that ETH network has issues with high amounts of usage. BUT, 90% of all altcoins are based on the ERC-20 standard, brought to us by ETH. The smart contracts using the Solidity are extremly good piece of technolgy.

So my question is. Do you think, that BTC will keep its leadership, or will ETH be the winner of this year and surpass its ancestor?

I agree with your opinion that Ethereum is more usable than Bitcoin. The platofrm allows to create smart contracts and to issue tokens for ICO projects. Also it has lower transaction fees compared to Bitcoin. I think its only drawback is the unlimitted supply, that's why the ETH value may be vulnerable to inflation as the years go by.  With this reason, reaching Bitcoin price is a great challenge to Ethereum.

In my opinion bitcoin and ethereum are both profitable that's why i invest both of them because they are the most dependable cryptocoins that can stay and rise high at the market. Therefore they are the best cryptocurrency in this kind of industry. Maybe bitcoin ranks as the #1 for many years but ethereum are getting stronger also. As what i have observe when bitcoin rise ethereum and almost all altcoins are rising also. For me they are both winner this year because still they are dominating cryptocurrency for many years that been passed by.

Bitcoin is a stable crypto currency, so its price is unlikely to drop for a long time. You can expect short-term drops in the rate, but do not panic and "run" to the exchange to sell cheaper currency.
