In the end it does not matter if a big pool starts merged mining as well.... It is a problem if they do it without telling their miners however

Can't believe any of the bigger pools would be foolish enough to do so, seeing as they would lose their miners for sure

On the other hand, maybe not many miners care, since they didn't jump to the merged mining pools in droves as far as I can tell

Brat

Well it is problem for smaller polls like we have for the merged now no chance at getting a block in edge wise for them or miners using them really. BTW 5 more since my last post.
It's not an issue everyone can mine and get paid even using a CPU it will not slow us little guys down.  If you are still concerned then just enabled PPS and not worry about it cuz I'm taking all the risk.

Can never be an increase, we have been mining NMC at this level since July, so it will be 3 months at this difficulty, will always be lower

The new difficulty however will go by so fast you can hold your breath during, so the diff after the next will be really high again and probably converge towards the BTC difficulty if merged mining is being introduced by the larger pools as well

Yep 2 for 1!  mine 2 block chains for with one miner.  You should use PPS that way I take all the risk but it's up to you.

I think it's the same in the long term, right?

So far everything is fine, i'm over 2000 shares and it says 0 stale (if it's true it's very good)

Tried to join.

Changed the default username (don't like it being email).
Created a worker.  Can't connect.  Keep getting bad host or username in cgminer.

Tried couple different variations.  Gave up.

Balance updates occur when a block is found even for PPS.

There is an option to change your username prefix in the dashboard under...
User Name and Worker Prefix

As for configuring cgminer.

cgminer.exe -o http://nmcbit.com:8332 -u username -p password

I need to do videos as people have a hard time with every pool.

I did exactly that.
Username: DeathAndTaxes_
Worker TiredMiner
full worker name shown on dashboard:  DeathAndTaxes_TiredMiner

used the above connect string got unable to connect or invalid username.

Tried changing username and password a couple times and gave up.  Have never been unable to connect to a pool before but wasn't willing to spend more than 5 minutes downtime trying to get it working.

Logged in create a worker named _home and password home
downloaded CGMINER

create a batch file

added
cgminer -o http://nmcbit.com:8332 -u Davincij15_home -p home

No problems.

I will create a new nmcbit.com account and try again with your simular names (except username).

Maybe it was changing the username which screwed it up?  Or maybe I just did something stupid/typo.  Not sure.  I will try again tomorrow.  Too late to take the rigs offline tonight.

Cool np

luck is really bad right now and I payout PPS on blocks found.

Anyhow I have tried it with a new account JohnDoe_ as he user name TiredMiner as the user and home as password.

The only way I was able to make it fail was to mess up the case on the password case on the username did not matter.

cgminer -o http://nmcbit.com:8332 -u JohnDoe_Tiredminer -p Home

Mh... today and yesterday i mined something and it seems the pool found blocks both in bitcoin and namecoin. And of course the worker now says 0 shares for both of them.

My question is, where did the bitcoin and namecoins mined went? It still says

Balance: 0.00000000 NMC
Balance: 0.00000000 BTC

edit: i have to wait for moar confirmations?
