yes it can be change in very long time because we are not sure to the future of this coin because it is unstoppable.
maybe soon when bitcoin is already legal all over the world it will be a currency

Unless and until the valuations of products and services happen in Bitcoin, till then it is very difficult to have it as a currency because of its fluctuations.

Bitcoin is still a secondary (replacement or pseudo) currency. Everything still is valued in USD, EU, Pounds, etc.

It has not failed still, early to say. Every new thing takes time to be adapted. You never know when the air changes in Bitcoins favor

Bitcoin was never a currency to begin with. Bitcoin has surely been useful in terms of investment and still really helpful nowadays and of course in the future. Will it change? 50/50. But for me, it is better for bitcoin to stay the same.

Yes indeed bitcoin is a digital currency but here is more likely in investing because bitcoin is so unstable or fluctuating that so many people use it to invest instead of being used in real terms because bitcoin is not a standard value.

We have always discussed here if bitcoin is a currency or if it is an investment but for me I'm only looking at it as same thing, it's a currency and an investment at the same time. I didn't recognize any differences between this two because it was already applied to bitcoin as same and we can now experience both right. Bitcoin is still growing. Many people around the world are still introduced with BTC. Still the volatility of BTC is very high. To become a currency the price should be stable, and it need to introduced at least sixty to seventy percent people around the world. BTC is increasing it's popularity day by day. Many company accept BTC as their payment. So, near future we may see the BTC as a currency. So, hope for the best.

Bitcoin is new form of payment. We are using traditional way of payment. When card payment launched by banks then it took a long period for regulate in market. So assume result for Bitcoin taking as currency is in hurry now. We should give more time to Bitcoin to proof it's success. I think it can good option for online international transaction.

I don't think it failed as a currency as we all know bitcoin are widely used as payment for any online transaction an it was oveelooked as an investment because it is traded in the market so expect some holders would hold their coins to gain profit but still it serves as an online currency .

Since most retailers are not accepting the currency as a payment because of it's high volatility and sometimes it's high transaction fees, It has effectively made sure that most people are not interested in it anymore and that's one of the reason why it's price sometimes gets so low.

I think that bitcoin will continue to be used as a form for investment, and not as a means of payment. As long as people have the opportunity to earn on increasing the bitcoin rate, and such an opportunity will be real, they will do it. At the same time, the course of bitcoin will grow and it will manifest itself as a bubble. Only when, after the panic that has arisen, this bubble bursts, and bitcoin practically depreciates, after that people will be afraid to invest large sums of money in bitcoin and he will finally be able to work more as a means of payment and only after that, maybe with him everything is normal.

That's what makes bitcoin less effective for currency, but that does not mean failure. If the problem can be resolved, especially if there is full regulation of the government, definitely bitcoin can be used as an alternative currency other than fiat.

Bitcoin is still being used as currency because you can pay in millions of merchants with bitcoin and its still dominant whole cryptocurrency space.

Therefore bitcoin is both investment and currency, in next few years we will have lightening network which will make bitcoin ultimate payment gateway.

Bitcoin might keep on holding speculative value in future too but volatility might get lower down with increasing marketcap.

Agreed>>Bitcoin will most likely stabilize overtime. It will remain to be seen wether bitcoin will gain mass appeal or not the government bodies anytime soon or if another coin will win the day.

you are right, the purpose of bitcoin at the moment is not the reason why people invest in it. for now people see it as an asset and just want to invest and make money instead of a regular source of transaction. but for sure soon its full purpose will be put in place

I think that bitcoin should not be regarded as a currency at all, because it is not a good asset store.
