Hi guys, this just bother me long time ago, and just popped up recently..

What is the purpose of token?

I can not figure it out because I have one token before and I did not know how to use it and I can not even transfer it to bitcoin. I am just wondering why people keep inventing and creating so much token at all.
I hope I can get POSITIVE response and not some hates and negative one.

Thank you.

Well, it seems to me that token or coins is from a bounty campaign or altcoin campaign payment to their member. Then you should find a website or exchanger that can be trade to the token or coins and then if someone buy it a bitcoin or maybe an ethereum you can store or convert it to any currency you have. Tokens or coins has a value that you can use but its price is limited so trade it as long as the price is higher.

It's a very multifaceted question. After reading most of the comments it is easier to generalize to "Token - is the minimum valuable unit"

These tokens are cryptocurrency which could be used as assets for trading or hodling for long term. After that you could exchange it for ETHEREUM or BITCOIN. So these tokens are assets.

The purpose of token is that it represents a particular asset or utility which are fungible and tradable from commodities to loyalty points to even other cryptocurrency. Sometimes, it simply serves as a medium of exchange.

If Token refers to cryptocurrency, it's a currency valid on one ecosystem. Usually cryptocurrency has a project or goals so the fund which has been raised will be allocated to particular sectors. Token also could be an investment, if the price extremely increase, the token holder possibly can sold their token to the market.

For example ICO TRON conducted on August 1st, the creator of TRON took the Proof-of-Stake algorithm to create a TRN Token for its ICO. At that time, ICO TRON wanted to create a decentralized platform.

Generally tokens have value and you can easily convert them to bitcoin via token to ethereum and then ethereum to bitcoin and in some case you can directly convert them to bitcoin. It all depends on which exchange that token is listed and what are the traeing pairs.
There are some fake airdrops too the tokens you get from them never gets any value so can't convert them to bitcoin

A token that gives user's the right to contribute work to a decentralized network and earn in exchange for their work. That work can be serving as an oracle ( in the case of Augur) , being the backstop in a collaterized debt system (in the case of maker) or securing the network ( in the case of etherium of when it switches to proof of stake) Token ownership does not give you any specialized rights within the network but it does give you access to the service.

Well token is anything that has a value for example you invest in a project or you join their bounty program and you will receive tokens. That token will going to be a coin if that token will be put into an exchange and that is already an alternative coin. As we all know that these alternative coins are mostly ethereum base platform or that this coins could be trade to ethereum and to bitcoin. Once you can have bitcoin or eth you can trade it to fiat money and there you will get real money from these tokens or coins. This is why many people are talking about it and love to have a tokens.

Each token that has its own purpose, you can find the goal they create a token in whitpaper they have. But we can take the whole conclusion. They aim to facilitate all affairs with the creation of tokens.

I notice that you're just a newbie here bitcoin forum, so here's my answer about your question. Token can be earn through to airdrops or In a bounty campaign, after the token being listed and successful to Its campaign and will be put In any crypto exchanges. You may trade It either bitcoin or etherium then thats the time, you can totally convert It Into your fiat.

Tokens are being given out by new organizations or should I say companies, and it can be exchanged for another cryptocurrencies, especially the main cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, although I haven’t seen one that can be exchanged for BTC, only Ethereum.

So if you’re able to get those tokens there are times when their worth will rise and you can exchange for ETH, after that you can spend the ETH or exchange it for BTC. If you’re using wallets like Xapo, they allow you to easily change from ETH to BTC. I once did that to my BTG.

I guess the reason why most tokens are erc 20 based is because of its huge compailtibility to different wallets like metamask or mew. Anyway those will be converted or swapped after the projects mainnet launches.

I help small and medium business owners increase brand awareness by creating engaging content, customer support, managing email marketing, and implementing automation.

Tokens are a general term for crypto currency. It maybe Bitcoin, Ethereum or other alt coins. Basically a token is a representation of a digital currency. You can exchange it to bitcoin by exchangtit to Ethereum first. Also, people make more of these alt coins for a chance to have the slicd of the crypto currency hype and make money out of it.

As for example steel.io is an ICO project before that the purpose is about blogging and article making, membership and creation of account you need their token aside from ETH and Bitcoin... some have purpose on their own project...aside from used to trade and hold...

Its extremely difficult to deal with obligation I know it and the it Tokens are a general term for digital currency. It possibly Bitcoin, Ethereum or other alt coins. Fundamentally a token is a portrayal of a computerized cash. You can trade it to bitcoin by exchangtit to Ethereum first. Likewise, individuals make a greater amount of these alt coins for an opportunity to have the slicd of the digital currency publicity and profit out of it.

Tokens are shared to individual participants at the end of bounties just as a reward for their good work done. Tokens are given for you to exchange and get something little for yourself. Others also hodl because they have much to spend.

My point is to easily convert them to Bitcoin or ethereum and then ethereum on Bitcoin. In some cases you can convert them to Bitcoin. So tokens are projects that are in the process of building up the need to raise capital to create a new electronic currency. Make sure that these financial amounts are later converted to BTC or ETH as the end result. I think so.
