There's no too waste about that. Ethereum is growing and becoming bigger each and everyday. People are investing in ethereum which is make it a threat to bitcoin but I believe bitcoin will continue to be the king of cryptocurrency.

Eventhough ETH has occupied the second place for such a long time,it has not posed even a minimal threat to ETH.It growth is too unpredictable and goes back and forth.Besides ripple is even in fierce competition for the second spot.In addition to that,the price difference between ETH and btc is too wide for ETH to close.

Ethereum is a threat to bitcoin? Yes it is. We all know that ethereum was created by a russian programmer on 2013, and it was launched on 2015. After 3 years it is next to bitcoin in terms of popularity and value.
Let me show you some NBA perspective on this, bitcoin is the king of cryptocurrency right? same as LeBron as the king of NBA. But here comes ethereum the prince of cryptocurrency just like Ben Simmons as the prince of the NBA. The prince will dethrone the king on the eastern conference finals same as ethereum that will dethrone bitcoin in the next couple of years. Wether we like it or not the king will reach its limit. Mark my word. Trust the ethereum process!
If Ethereum is the threat to Bitcoin, why did it fell from $700 to $200 in just a month this summer? Btc has been rather stable - it is still traded for not less than $6,000 - so don't you think it is still the king of crypto market? Nobody knows what will happen in the next 2 years (as you say), but I believe that Eth will not be as popular as bitcoin. |

The comparison that you do is very interesting for us to discuss, but this is the business world. Who gets a lot of money and gets a community that many of them will become kings. Bitcoin and Ethereum are not suitable if we compare them to the royal system, but are more suited to a democratic system "Free". We cannot force other people to choose which coins we like, but they freely choose coins. In this case, maybe other coins like BCH, EOS, or DOGE will become the king of cryptocurrency. Bitcoin is the best and will be the best, there are no big potential coins that threaten Bitcoin because Altcoin is also still influenced by the price of Bitcoin, even many Altcoins fall even though Bitcoin rises or stabilizes, so I also don't think that ETH is a Bitcoin threat. I might not agree to this base of some fact that HTC has been in existence before ETH though this doesn't state the fact that it's better but looking at the Cryptocurrency world the existence of BTC reflect in so many ways which means other Alts also depends on it so the rate can affect all part of Crypto and so far it's the most trusted coin I can recommend to invest in.

No they are different things actually. Bitcoin is just to have value in digital asset, but ethereum has smart contracts (keeping information on chain). They will serve this crypto world differently. Pricewise, if bitcoin rises, ether will rise too. They're not working against each other.

It's still a competition considering that each coin have its own market cap which sometimes cross to each other and making it as it is a competition to attract the funds. However, quite interested with that information, might find it out later. |
