I feel like I foolishly bought some nxt because the nxt client really leaves a lot to be desired. I mean, I think it's awesome that it's not a clone of the bitcoin/litecoin wallet but it is totally flaky. It was a major pain to get it running because the 2 peers it came with never connected and it took me an hour to find a good peerlist. A better peerlist needs to be included in the official release. Also, opening a port in your router is not really part of the instructions and is an issue if this is ever really going to go mainstream. Also, I just tried a GPU miner for MemoryCoin on the computer with the NXT software. The GPU miner crashed my computer and it must have screwed up the blockchain files because I had issues with restarting it. Adding the port and kill password is an odd way to prevent this from happening. If you're not a techie, the learning curve is way to steep for mass adoption in my opinion.

Have faith, there will be several new clients released in the next few weeks, which will include some really awesome features and will be a one click install.  Hold on to that Nxt!

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Yes, CFB has been requesting that for a little while, not sure if anyone is actually working on that right now.

My suggestions:

a) @all frontend developer: please use finally an unified LOGO, COLORS and FONTS/CSS. As for all business... an corporate design is really important for value of brand recognition and trust!! Maybe the designers should use an unique thread for convention!

You should orientate on the style of info.nxtcrypto.org

The header logo of nxtcrypto.org changed again, why? The current (QTBC) one is an typographic horror!

b) @Admin of forums.nxtcrypto.org: Please find an more readable style as like nextcoin.org. Fonts and colors should be more user-friendly!! Maybe migrate to SMF in reason that the most of the crypto members are familiar with that board software. If you want more traffic on you board, do it. Especially now do you have the chance for get new members in reason of the barefaced business policy of DGEX.

c) @Designers: Someone should write an Corporate Design Manual!

We are working on coordinating to where there is a common look between the info/www/forums sites.  A different person manages each one, and they all have other full time jobs.  The forums guy has been on vacation.  We are working on it.

For now can someone please try these modified links to force 2 different styles (other than the green one)

https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/index.php?style=1&sid=a80e2a21db06a6e45ca56cbf4c456d59
or
https://forums.nxtcrypto.org/index.php?style=3&sid=a80e2a21db06a6e45ca56cbf4c456d59

Id prefer to keep phpBB it is EXTREMELY more extensible and powerful

If the forum had the same color scheme as the home page (nxtcrypto.org), that would be ideal.  The green and black is just a little to harsh.  Also, I tried the links and I don't get a different color.

If one can not confer upon another a right which he does not himself first possess, by what means does the state derive the right to engage in behaviors from which the public is prohibited?

odd, I tried it as a test user and it worked.  Those a 2 blue-ish schemes that sort of resemble the website.

ETA: nevermind it doesnt work annymore.  it looks like that long random number changes.  sorry guys, we'll try to get it fixed.

Wow last time I read this thread I was contemplating sending one BTC...and then I forgot about it.  And now I see this thread and realize I made a $3 million mistake.  Wow...I feel sick to my stomach.

dont feel too bad, there is no where NEAR enough liquidity for you to realize even a fraction of that 3 million dollar profit. With a little luck and some slick marketing you may have realized $100,000

Is there a max limit to block size similar to Bitcoin's 1Mb? Is it possible for the forging node to add crap data into the block to flood the network?
