And add sources. Without sources any infogrpaphic is just a PR brochure with hype.

Without critical reviews of all aspects of Nxt, the source can be only "BCNext told so". We should fix this issue asap.

That's understandable. But he quotes some numbers and facts that can have source links, even if they lead to sites, which hasn't acquired mainstream credibility yet, like coinmarketcap.com.

Ricky, thank you for your investigation and help. NXT community should be proud of having such members.

I trust in case #3, possible another person found the poisoned code and changed it to sniff passwords to this own server instead of default hosted by EpicThomas.

Let's refresh my and other people memory by posting some facts again.

Did [ plasticAiredale, Framewood, PaulyC, sparta_cuss, or newcn ] report about running infected NXT client software ? It's quite important part of the investigation.

newc downloaded it from Thomas's link:

These look good, but for the love of god - proofread! I started reading about NXT vs Bitcoin and in the first sentence - "world wide". Then its "fly by night". Made me chuckle actually, thinking of Batman Smiley "some fly by night!" Epic superhero cryptocurrencies fly by night and save people from greedy bankers.

And add sources. Without sources any infogrpaphic is just a PR brochure with hype.

I just mentioned that a bit ago -- look great, bad spelling. 'Seperate' (sic) just makes us look amateur. These info graphics need combed through with more than a cursory glance (and I found a few just taking a cursory glance).

So far we are a handful of "activists" over at nextcoin.org that is responsible for the majority of PR for NXT. It seems PR has been neglected completely which we decided had to be stopped and so we stepped up. Sadly we have recieved almost no NXT to make our jobs easier.
But we have managed to get infographics, videos, a press release that is currently being sent to several different news sources, especially those that are involved with cryptocurrencies.

Uniqueorn, I just posted some preliminary business card designs in the Activism forum. Others are free to look at, offer suggestions, ridicule, etc:

https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,2326.0.html

They're simple, nothing fancy.

I do have some pretty cool flyers cooking up... I hope to do a flyer with a few alternates, as well as some different things like tri-folds, etc. The kind of stuff you see at corporate expos, trade shows, etc. Today (Sunday) is my last day of work and will be off Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I hope to have some preliminary things to show Mon January 5 to get some ideas going and hopefully some final, community-approved designs by Wednesday.

I recommend ProofreadNOW.com or similar. Not affiliated with them, just used them in the past, liked it very much and the prices were reasonable.

Adjust timezone to what? The correct value or something else? Why does timezone matter?

Adjust to correct time. Timezone matters coz of day-saving.

And does this mean that if transaction never appeared in the list of transactions, it can still be included within 24 hours and I should wait a day?

Aye, it can and u should wait a whole day.

Because that would suck for people who requested a withdrawal and now have to wait additional 24 hours...

Use broadcastTransaction API call.

So is this what we should do:

TransactionID = sendMoney(..) //deadline 900
TransactionBytes = getTransactionBytes(TransactionID)
broadCastTransaction(TransactionBytes)

Do we do this immediately after sendMoney? Or do we need to wait 1 minute or so?

I'm wondering whether there are bugs for Raspberry Pi due to hardware or OS compatibility. It seems that the "numberOfBlocks" is always greater than the actual number of blocks. The following are the data from API call @PI.

Orphaned blocks r stored too.

So is this what we should do:

TransactionID = sendMoney(..) //deadline 900
TransactionBytes = getTransactionBytes(TransactionID)
broadCastTransaction(TransactionBytes)

Do we do this immediately after sendMoney? Or do we need to wait 1 minute or so?

This is what I send to those who ask how to accept/send nxts:

Here is one of the ways to handle deposits:

1. U generate a string of 50+ chars. This is ur master passphrase, it must be very strong. Let's assume it's "secret".
2. Each time when a user wants to deposit coins u generate a unique ID, u can use user ID if it's not necessary to create a new address for each deposit.
3. U use "secret"+ID to generate a passphrase for the deposit account, for example "secret8475347836".
4. http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getAccountId&secretPhrase=secret8475347836 will return the corresponding account id. U should give it to the user.
5. Periodically u should check if the address got incoming transactions - http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getAccountTransactionIds&account=6975576163363041725&timestamp=0
6. For each id in the list u can get transaction info - http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getTransaction&transaction=83492836836338756
7. When u get enough confirmations (at least 10) u can increase user's balance.

Some very important things:

Blocks can become orphaned and transactions cancelled, so pay attention to timestamp and deadline values of a transaction. Timestamp is measured in seconds since the genesis block (24th of Nov, 2013 12:00:00 UTC). Deadline is measured in minutes. A transaction expires when timestamp + deadline * 60 < current time, it can't be included into a block with timestamp > timestamp (of the transaction) + deadline * 60. Current time can be obtained via http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getTime
So, to make sure that u won't lose the transaction u should check that a user uses large deadline and doesn't try to cheat u by setting timestamp too far in the past. Also, until a transaction gets 720 confirmations u should check it's still confirmed and if not (due to blockchain reorg), rebroadcast it to the network using http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=broadcastTransaction&transactionBytes=f11234bd3a2fc19c2ba6b7c0d108deea9fcbafda5f544e4648c651ec4ed34ed2. Transaction bytes can be obtained via http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getTransactionBytes&transaction=83492836836338756.

To send coins back to a user:

Do http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=sendMoney&secretPhrase=123&recipient=2983475693816&amount=5000&fee=1&deadline=32767
This request will return transaction id and transaction bytes. Save the both and periodically check that transaction is still in the blockchain. If it becomes unknown or unconfirmed then rebroadcast it via broadcastTransaction. Once it reaches 720 confirmations u can forget about it.

Why the Pi has so many orphaned blocks? Because of the limitted memory? How to clear those orphaned blocks, or should I just wait some time?

Number of orphaned blocks depends on network topology. Ignore them.

Thank you salsacz for your response and suggestion.

The infographics are so great. I will print them out with the business card to show to those guys.

BTW, could some graph guys help to design the business card similar to Peercoin business card here: http://www.peercointalk.org/index.php?topic=1544.msg11805#msg11805

Hello.

Basically you are suggesting to to create one NXT account for every user that subscribes or uses a service (webservice) application etc...
I' wondering if wouldn't possible and easier to have one single NXT account where users makes their deposits and then check against
the block chain if the transactions have reached 720 confirmations and then add a positive balance to the user's
account?
Is this possible anyway? Can user cheat somehow?!

Thanks.
