Question: Has the voting thing been decided yet? Was it decided 1Nxt=1Vote?
That is what BCnext said it should be

as much as I hate all these voting discussions, I hate the GW crap 100x more.  Im glad we can all decide to just let the GW debate end.  Regardless of what side a person is on, its just too polarizing to attach to NXT.  Sure, energy efficiency, this is good but just dont even mention GW.

Im disappointed with all the swearing and personal attacks from a few of our community members.  I hate to say it but going off the deep end like that reminds me of frictionless coin

Hey OC, I agree especially from Snr members, forum admins, etc. but I think everyone is getting antsy waiting for clients, updates, and to the moon!

Question: Has the voting thing been decided yet? Was it decided 1Nxt=1Vote?
That is what BCnext said it should be

Hmm.. Well I have a suggestion. Please go easy on me because I'm no programmer and have no idea what could actually be done. However I was thinking... With 1Nxt=1Vote I still feel like although PoS helps against a large entity attacking the network via 51% attack, if a large entity wanted to, they could still cause a problem with voting. So I was thinking perhaps it would be possible to implement reputation into it. I heard that maybe some kind of reputation system was being set up for the decentralized exchange. Well if it would be possible to add reputation to the 1Nxt=1Vote method, that would solve a huge problem. Or maybe at the very least make it so that time-the-account-has-been-open/unlocked is a factor. Like I said, I'm not a programmer and have no idea how to implement it or how we could set up the specific mathematics of it, however I feel like it's an idea worth exploring, if it hasn't been already.

I agree. Vote weight definitely should depend on a stake. I'd say not fully proportional, but since there is no way to change proportions it should be 1 Nxt = 1 Vote. All stake holders want the same - great future for Nxt. And initial stakeholders probably want it even more than anybody else  Smiley Why would they vote for something that may hurt Nxt.

but who decides if your "reputation" is bad so your votes don't count?

sounds like disenfranchisement to me.

rep is about trustworthy for trades, and is very arbitrary. if someone thinks you were rude, your rep can suffer, now you cant vote??

If decentralization is the goal, than reputation is the only way to go. Plenty of working real life examples too. Ebay anyone?

If you had to go through the same debate over and over again while the other guy is refusing to listen to any arguments, then you would understand the frustration.

Swear words are nothing but collections of letters, science illiteracy is a lot worse.

Actually none side give a shit about the other side agruments and facts. People just exchanged opinions. But the way we had discussion shows that we should stay away from it as far as we can.

Yeah, but it works. Not many people will buy from you if you have bad feedback. I agree that it should still be based off of stake. I just feel like a big government entity or what have you could easily buy up a lot of coins and then eventually damage the coin based off of voting decisions. If they could ad some kind of mechanism so that reputation added more value to your vote, I feel like that would be an added step to make sure these scenarios are avoided. Or like I said, maybe time-your-account-has-been-unlocked adding value to your Nxt Vote. I don't know, just a thought.

i know youre thinking for the good, and i agree to that. But what effect is a -1% per rep slam on Whales? and what if you were a normal guy but the rest of the whales didnt like how you voted so they all down voted you?. and they had big reps and huge hallmarks so your 1000nxt was worth 1vote. thats the side effects..

CARTEL voting blocks

now whats the positives? small fish can have a say? honestly if you BELIEVE in NXT then you better spend the $1000USD to buy 120k NOW. Your belief and support will make it grow AND give you something worth voting for

Like I said, I thought they were already implementing some type of reputation system for the decentralized exchange. Why not just tie this reputation into the voting system. Sounds way better than just pure 1Nxt=1Vote to me.

Oh, and I already have over 100k. And I think you mean $10,000 not $1000  Smiley

I don't think it would hurt the stakeholders at all. I would imagine they would be the ones with the BEST reputation because they'd be doing the majority of the selling. If they got bad reputation from screwing people over, than why would you want their vote to count for more anyways? I think if they could implement reputation + active-account-time into the 1Nxt=1Vote system, that would be ideal.

In fact we have 31 swarmers at this point, the goal and funding only reaches for 30.
So if we're going to add more SWARMers I'll first have to ask the funder of this project.

Let me put forth an idea I had that would be a natural for swarming.  There's a hundred other boards on a hundred other cryptocoins out there.  What if we came up with a list of those boards and assigned say three boards per swarmer.  They all go and establish accounts on those boards...maybe with a universally agreed username and password?  Then we start leaving posts at each board to the effect that "Your crypto is cool but your should diversify into just one more...NXT."  This would potentially get us a lot of new crypto-savvy members as well as developing some undercover scouts to let us know of interesting developments at a particular crypto that might be exploited by NXT.

Can you tell from this idea I am looking forward to the second season return of my current favorite TV show, The Americans?  For all you Russian / East Europeans, it's a spy drama that tells the tale of a married KGB team undercover in 1980s Washington DC.  It's only 90% as good as Breaking Bad, but that's plenty good enough...especially when it stars Keri Russell, whom I fell in love with back in her Felicity days decades ago.  What great hair she had then!
