I think bitcoin had two big flaws.
-Possibility to create coin out of the void. Billions were created before being destroyed -Possibility to spend bitcoin from address you don't own

Why next forge time is so low? Too few servers are running version with OK chain?

P.S. servers are still needed? Today I can buy and try to use that 2$/month server that nobody believes in
Yeah, please do that and report how it works. See, you could get away with it, if you're the only user running java on that server, but if many users joined in, the server would crash or the admin would start limiting down resources. So that's why it may be ok to try those hosts, but when we need masses of VPSs running, it's best to choose something more reliable that $1-2 hosts.

Hello All, Just like to say what a great Job you've been doing with NXT. I have invested some funds almost two weeks ago and happy to say forged 16 NXT I've been following this topic since the start and have only just registered in the forum, so newbie. I do have a 4GB 4 core VPS that I would like to set up as a peer. Yesterday I downloaded 0.4.2 onto my peer and did not finish setting it up with hallmark. Should I just delete the nxt.zip and nxt folder and download the latest version. Also I'm running Ubuntu 13.04 (64 bit), is that OK to use as I know you recommend Debian. Thanks Ubuntu is ok, use my setup guide in the signature, for hallmark too, it should work.

Developers should put to client some checkpoints for blockhain. There is no checkpoints.
No, this will lead to centralization. BCNext hates centralization (me too btw).

Yes, I downloaded the version you sent. Not sure what can be wrong. I used ctrl + c to stop it and then restarted with java -jar start.jar. Now it does not show version information in the title is just NRS. Now it does not show any active peers, not any blocks, and balance still is 1 NXT. I use Safari browser here. Refreshed and loved in one more. Now it shows title NRS 0.4.0 again, active peers, but the block is still 22277 and balance still 1 NXT. EDIT: Now tested from Mozilla Firefox, looks the same. Just downloaded and started this version.
At the top there is still nxt 0.4.0 title.
I checked, it's 0.4.6. R u sure u use correct downloaded file?

New mac client version 0.4.6 can't be gotten via auto-update because the developer's dropbox has too much traffic and has been disabled. So here it is: https://copy.com/8gftk6QT86jaIt includes the blockchain in the file already because someone found and exploited a bug and we need to reset from that point on. Note that it will show itself as 0.4.5 (0.4.6 is just the added blockchain files).

Strange. Does anone see a higher block level than 24192?
That's what the block explorer is at, at least. My private client as well as my public node (running 0.4.6) are both "stuck" (?) at 24168, orphaning back to 24167 on and off.
