hilotime and X_X_X,

You are getting closer. What is the latest block that shows in the browser? Maybe you just need to wait for it to catch up. The transaction that gave you the 2500 needs to be processed by your computer before it appears.

Mine is pretty caught up blocks shows:

24304      2159498187382012684      12/25/2013 5:52:13 AM
0      0 + 0      0 B
1      8382884815200186657      941 %

If you are not to block 24000+, just need to wait.

James

Who cares about this branch? 24180 is corrupted and will be discarded on next update. You can turn your Nxt off now

As the unofficial newbie supporter, I say we newbies care!
Seeing the NXT balance go from 0 to anything is an important thing
Plus, I heard that the next client will magically skip over the corrupted blocks and make everything as it should. Otherwise all transactions after 24180 would be void? That would be a big problem, so with the assumption that it will be fixed somehow, loading all the current blocks seems to be worthwhile.

I also don't think this is a branch, isn't the corruption in the main trunk?

James,

Persistence pays off.  I am a NXT community member.  I have 2500.00 NXT.  How can I deploy these funds to assist in growing the NXT community?  Thank you, James.

Like in git, there is no main branch. We think that the main is the longest normal chain. Say that there is chain with the end 24179 is the last normal and it is not growing for a while

Set up your own VPS or send some nxt to another person to do that

I am a bit confused. Will transactions after 24180, eg. everything happening now, be properly reconciled into the new corrected blockchain?

If not, what happens to people who bought NXT since 24180?

Depends who you bought it from.   Wink  Trace back the source of the coins you got.

User705,

Luckily, I got the NXT direct from reputable source, but if this means thousands of transactions will have to be redone, wouldn't it be better to somehow stop things?

I also registered a bunch of aliases. I suppose those would be up for grabs when 24180 is fixed?

I would hope only the tainted blocks would have to be redone. What about all the people with dgex withdrawals pending? What a mess.

Tell me this won't require massive manual cleanup.

thats what i think. you are never going to get rich off of $20 worth of bitcoin someday. but you MAY get rich off of $20 worth of NXT someday.

because of things like this...

Made some quick research on the issue with the huge transactions.

The nxts were popping up here first: (passphrase "1")
http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=3705364957971254799

Some of them were transferred to this address:
17910736633224260418

Which belongs to the user nozi123
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=168584
(he was online when all this happened)

He also posted in here, asking where his coins are which he bought from dgex.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.6640
(his post was later deleted form the thread but I replied him quoting his original question with the account number he provided)

What to do? Can we do anything? Is it worth to do anything?

-4,294,967,296 NXT...

wtf...

looks like the guys who got the Nxt transferred it as well.

OMG

http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=3000&acc=5250567211981518110

1,111,000,000 NXT...

 Shocked

We've got accounts with balances OVER the 1 billion Nxt available...and accounts with negative balances...

James

No automatic reconciliation. Everything after 24179 has never happened.
You should contact to your seller to solve this problem. If you bought it on dgex, they may have stored all transactions in their database so they can reconcile them manually (if they want).
