Just to prove that I stand by my words: anyone with 30+ activity on BCTalk that asks me for 2,000 NXT will get if for free. And this goes for the first 500 people that do it... so I'm giving away 1 million NXT.. but not to 1 person... 500. The more users the better.

Give me your NXT address bitdraw and I'll start with you.  Wink

lol do you round up to 30 from 28?  just in case.. 12692935506199079028
I send some..

thanks!  im me your cryptsy trade id and ill put you as a referrer
Do you see them? Maybe they were not send properly..

Trade id PM or here?

This happened when I ran Nxt:
Code:
C:\>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre
7\bin\java.exe" -cp Nxt.zip Nxt
[2013-11-27 17:29:40.049] Nxt 0.2.12 started.

[2013-11-27 17:38:18.521] 7: java.nio.channels.AsynchronousCloseException

Then when I ran it again I got this...
Code:
C:\>"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre

[2013-11-27 17:38:21.374] Nxt 0.2.12 started.
[2013-11-27 17:38:21.449] 10: java.io.EOFException
[2013-11-27 17:38:21.450] Nxt stopped.

Keeps doing that now...
Any ideas?

I want to trade a 25$ AMC theater gift card for XNT, but I will only do so when a 'user friendly' interfaced client is made. No frills or splash. Just works.  Consider it payment for making the client open source. If someone is working on it- let them know.  0.00001btc  if it isn't java based.

Is there a website or a logo/slogan for the currency setup?
Just curious since I don't see the ref in the OP's post.
We will establish semi- /official website within approx. a week, that will consist of a forum with advanced features (including NXT tipping) and something very very nice.

This thread is getting cluttered, will attempt to set up the forum ASAP to for clearer progression of the Nxt project.

We just reserved the domain nextcoin.org.

Co-operation offers are welcome. Nxt needs a good coin logo. We already crafted a payment button "badge" that can be freely used to display acceptance of NXT.

Because of that the exchange is delayed further one+ hour but it's worth it, right?  Wink

It's the same account number and says there have been no transactions. What gives?

I would certainly love to assist with this project. I have extensive Online Marketing Experience and Web Development. I would be willing to assist with marketing, promotions and general website projects. If I get some time this week, I will certainly work on that bounty for the Video, but I really need to understand this Project a bit more so I can translate for the general public.

I have come up with a couple of samples for a logo, just throwing some ideas out there.

If you enjoy my work, any NXT donations are greatly appreciated: 1881317617924471615

This I would consider a print quality image. Not really good for web use.

This image would scale a bit better for the web

This image is a play on multi metallic colors. Let's say Platinum and Gold and it should scale well.

Ran into the same problem and panicked...
You need to wait for your local host to update w/ the latest block or at least update to the block your transaction was made

Just so you can be at ease, do what I did, check the blockchain online. If your funds were sent successfully, they should show there.

No one has any input on my issue and question about mining...?

in NXT, 'mining' is only when you process transactions and receive a fee for it.  Or whenever the protocol decides there is a demand (based on the as yet to be released p2p decentralized exchange).  In either case, you must have coins already.  Look for one of the NXT giveaway threads.  IM me your NXT address and Ill send you some as well.  If I can.  Ive tried to send in the past but cant seem to get it to work.

At least thats how I understand.  Ive purchased a little chunk of NXT myself, and have my wallet unlocked in Java, but dont think Ive yet to gain any transaction fees.  Not sure how often I should see anything.

So mining is not netting anything?

Can anyone confirm this?

You need at least 100k Nxt coins to have a realistic chance at finding a block and receive the transaction fees from that block.

Currently, the transactions on the network are low.  This will change.

Right now, you have 100% mining potential simply by having your wallet open.  With other currencies that are part PoW and part PoS, a PoS only miner doesn't have a chance to generate all the blocks.  You have to invest in mining hardware to have a chance to generate every block.  With Nxt, you get 100% mining potential without having to invest in hardware and paying power bills.  You only have to purchase Nxt to mine.

Unlike mining hardware, Nxt doesn't go obsolete, it doesn't break down, you never have to replace it, it takes up no physical space, and it consumes no electricity.

You never have to worry about some new technology, like ASICs, undermining your mining investment because your mining investment is the currency itself.

Mining hardware depreciates because its capability of producing additional currency is diminished continually.  Nxt's capability of producing additional currency is set at a fixed rate.  Therefore, I can make the argument that Nxt simply used for mining purposes should not depreciate.  One Nxt today will produce the same amount of Nxt a hundred years from now.  When you consider that Nxt doesn't just have usefulness as a means of mining but also as a store of value and as a transactional medium, its value is apparent and appreciation is expected.

Also, Nxt is not inflationary like the other digital currencies.  If you purchase 100k Nxt today, you will always own at least 0.01% of the Nxt in circulation.  This is not true with Bitcoin or any other alt.  If I purchase 100 bitcoins today, tomorrow I will own a smaller percent of the bitcoins in circulation.  This will hold true until bitcoin reaches its cap of 21 million.

When the bitcoin block reward is solely composed of transaction fees, you will still need physical hardware to mine the blocks and claim the transactional reward.  This is not true with Nxt.

I am having a problem claiming my coins. The website is saying 'Already assigned to....' and is the hash of the hash. Is this normal? The coins are not showing up in the wallet I created yet. Does that take a while?

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550
At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community.
This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

BCNext is holding the unclaimed coins of early investors.  Send Come-from-beyond a pm and ask him to help you claim your coins.

I'm trying to determine how much was originally paid per NXT coin (BTC/NCT). I've seen 1 billion NXT and a total pool of 21 bitcoins which would be 0.000000021 BTC per NXT, or 47,619,047.62 NXT per bitcoin. Lowest sale price I'm seeing is 0.0000006 BTC per NXT or 1666666.67 NXT per bitcoin. This would be a 28.6 multiple in price over original cost in the week or so since funding was closed. Are these figures correct or are some of the 1 billion still undistributed? Is there a link to these kind of statistics and market cap anywhere?

Are these figures correct ..?
- yes, they are correct.  And 28.6 multiple is a super small multiple for such very risky project.

Is there a white paper or more info on it (trying to avoid digging through 26+ pages on original thread)?
