Introducing the NXT Foundations forums site at https://forums.nxtcrypto.orgEveryone, as part of the NXT Foundation initiative, I am pleased to announce that bitcointalk user btc24 has completed migration of his nxtalk.org forums over to forums.nxtcrypto.org effective immediately. We formed the NXT Foundation in an effort to collaborate on the promotion of NXT as the 2nd generation cryptocurrency. The first goal will be to set up a set of sites under the Foundation's official domain NXTCRYPTO.ORG. As one of the main functions of NXT is decentralization, we have devised a decentralized method of control of the information between all sites of the domain, such that 1 person does not control everything and from cooperation, things get done. The NXT dev team will have little to no connection at all with the foundation, though we certainly intend to assist the dev team however we can. Wiki:Joefox@bitcointalk has stepped up and provided hosting for http://wiki.nxtcrypto.org as well as DDOS protection on a MediaWiki system. Please visit the wiki if you are interested in translation help. He is paying for all this himself, so donations are appreciated. Info:A person wishing to remain anonymous has stepped up and provided hosting for http://info.nxtcrypto.org as well as DDOS protection on that site. The site is intended for critical updates and critical info/news from the dev team. As he wishes anonymity, he is unable to receive donations. Web:QBTC from nextcoin.org has stepped up and provided hosting for http://www.nxtcrypto.org as well as DDOS protection on that site. She is paying for all this herself, so donations are appreciated. Forums:NXTALK.ORG has moved to forums.nxtcrypto.org and will become the official forums for the NXT Foundation. Please visit the forums if you are interesting in moderating one of the language boards. Adminius on forums.nxtcrypto.org AKA btc24 on bitcointalk has stepped up and provided hosting for http://forums.nxtcrypto.org as well as DDOS protection on the site. He is paying for all this himself, so donations are appreciated. DNS administrator:These duties will be my particular area. Since that is the case I will not be administering any of the sites. Though I will be helping out with the forums, moderation, ultimate control of these forums falls to Adminius. Thanks to 2Kool4Skewl for paying for the domain and to the anonymous Info site manager for the SSL certs. Hopefully in a year when these are renewed I'll have lots of $ to pay for it. Please support the new https://forums.nxtcrypto.org to take the bloat off this thread

Looks like we got a new Exchange started up. Made by NxtChg (according to the nextcoin forum) https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,1585.30.html . The exchange just started accepting real BTC and Nxt to trade. The exchange can be found at https://nxtchg.com/index.phpIn about 5 minutes I will enable registrations and we will go LIVE! https://nxtchg.comAccounts 1 and 2 are reserved for testing, so if you've got 3 - you will be our first user For now there are absolutely no fees. Main exchange accounts are: NXT: 3283108578452123518 BTC: 17mDysZav2ZyKtzHA8v7Mq7HhuZbvfSvpm You can monitor them for deposits/withdrawals, but don't send anything directly there! Use the site forms. BTC deposits are automatic, everything else is manual for now, please be patient. It might be a good idea to enter your email on the Profile page. Nothing will be sent, but it's the only way to restore your account if you lose your password. -- What else? Don't hesitate to report anything unusual. And if there will be any bugs, glitches or delays in deposits/withdrawals, please don't be too harsh: I am not Microsoft, I'm just a guy. So... Who will have the honor of making the very first transaction on a brand new exchange? Oh, and Happy New Year!

If it's pending, at least it's not out of his systems yet. On a side note: I've never had any problems with DGEX myself. It may be slow sometimes (and 5 days is lóng), but it gets there in the end.

Anyone have problems sending NXT with 0.4.8? I get secret pass phrase is incorrect but see no where to enter it?

NXT VPS Server Donations can be sent here: 6044921191674841550At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community. This is separate from my main wallet so you can keep track of them. I will keep them in there and only use them for hosting.

If someone creates a forum poll on nextcoin.org and majority votes for this min fee setting ratio (always keep min fee ~$0.10), would the devs implement it or would we still need to wait for the VS to be in place?
Jean-Luc, this is addressed to u. IMO $0.1 is way too much, it should be no more than $0.01

Yes you have, keeping the network alive is enough incentive to forge. Otherwise your NxT holdings will become worthless. Charging $0.1 fee for every transaction makes NxT useless for micropayments. Now fees can be higher to avoid attacks, but it should be smaller in the future (nearly 0).

I agree it's a balance. it'll be a long time before fee can be $0.01, the network has to grow hundreds of times before that happens.

I completely agree about low transaction cost but also want to note that NXT does not need to be used for micropayments. The load could be too much for the system to handle. It would be better to target Nxt to high value transaction. All the talk about Bitcoin for uses in micro-transaction has not yet materialize. just fancy talk so far.

We're already doing it, but I think in communications forging should be presented as a nice extra, instead of the basis of why to step into the coin. Most people out there who trade cryptos have a "mining mindset" and come in with ideas of forging themselves wealthy. You know: "Earn $$$ in your BUTT!!!!!!"
Nót doing it that way is one of the things that sets NXT apart.

One of the features that Transparent Forging brings is very high number of transactions that can be processed.

To me, a cup of coffee is a micropayment. Edit: I feel like we are putting the cart way before the horse so to speak.

Let's get the VS in place and vote everything, can't wait for that Arbitrary Messages is next feature, VS will be later. Also we need client soft that supports VS. I see noone is developing it. 1) Arbitrary Message at what block? 2) I think soft clients will get build quite easy once source code is released....developers will need to squat somewhere to create value....so different features will get divided up between them.

Nothing. As I said u should forge behind Tor if u can't handle so much traffic. In the future we'll have companies that will work as a shield between small forgers and big transactions / DDoSers. U'll be just signing blocks and pay some % of the fees to such shielding companies. I won't be surprised if CloudFlare will be one of the pioneers in such business.
