i am just adding the last components for the explorer (alias search), cleaning the codebase
and finalize the explorer. it was planned to add some more features (filters/pagination/charts/mining calculator)
but i think these are not so important, as long the main funktion is working properly. this can be done
later and is on my todo list. i see the explorer more than a community asset than a personal project.

tomorrow i am starting the client/asset-exchange fulltime, which means much more output from my side.
the asset exchange is the most difficult part (async api/data storage/charts/order matching/different instruments
like shared revenue, options, bonds etc.) but once fully functional all other services can be plugged in very fast.
i guess much faster than other competitioners. the first beta should be ready in ~3 weeks (which is very sporty),
ready to check heavily via testnet. if no major bugs are found the final is planned 1-2 weeks later and yes, competition
is good, have no problems with that.

no not a troll. been following this from the start. and like all start ups it has its own good points and bad ones. bad ones way outnumber the good ones so far. This is a good concept but is undercooked from the oven and needs more thought to make it right rather than the ad hoc method so far.

If the concept was to make the community dev the project as it goes on like a true decentralised project then I applaud it but the reality has been different so far.

I close the command window and run *.bat again, refresh NRS client tab, got this error...

Your blocks.nxt file got corrupted because the Java process was killed and didn't manage to save it completely. Next time try Ctrl-C inside the command window instead of just closing it. Or does Ctrl-C even work on windows... no idea, but always works for me on linux.

In 0.4.9e I make sure to wait some extra time (up to 10 seconds) for the background java threads to finish, before saving blocks.nxt and exiting. I would expect this to reduce the chance of corrupted .nxt files, but it also means you have to be patient and give it a chance to exit normally for at least 10 s.

Seriously, how do you think the one party who is allowed to be the BTC/NXT gateway will price his/her services?  With no competition the NXT exchange, as a whole, could very likely suffer from monopolies on assets like BTC, USD and gold.

One party will pay 1000 NXT to issue an Asset within the NXT Asset Exchange, which will be a BTC/NXT gateway.

Another party can also pay 1000 NXT to issue a DIFFERENT Asset within the NXT Asset Exchange, which can also be a BTC/NXT gateway.


Either you and the others raising these concerns have a misconception of what an Asset is OR I need to do a lot of homework!  

Asset Tags....once someone buys BTC/NXT gateway he owns it....the next choice is BTC/NXT gateway 1 or x, etc.

so it's location, location, location...positioned in the mind.....the original BTC/NXT gateway would have that advantage over the copy cats

I think I forgot to mention that in the change log, but now that Transparent Forging is enabled and we are after block 30000, clients older than 0.4.8 will not be able to process blocks after 30000. So everybody please upgrade to 0.4.8 at least. There were a few posts with people claiming to have their servers mining unattended, well, if they are still on 0.4.7e or older they no longer are mining.

oh thanks didn't realise that. I will just sit tight and observe community development. I think stuff like this needs a big stick looking at it. Still I like the concept but needs control over it rather than community 'efforts'

Thanks for reply! I did however wait couple minutes, because computer got stuck... then I did stop with Ctrl+C...
