Because there's no authority involve, So the people dictates the value of it and I think the whales has always an edge in this game because as we notice whales at some point can manipulate the value.

Why bitcoin is votality compare to fiat money. Many say bitcoin is not a good investment because it is votality.

What is votality?
liability to change rapidly and unpredictably, especially for the worse. this is the fast price change.

Why is the votality of bitcoin high?
Bitcoin is a low supply at the time of its growing number of users and it has become a demand for the masses. Many want to buy, Many want to sell in easy-word multiple transactions. When many bitcoin transactions are fast market movements and we do not know what might happen because of the emotion of the seller and the buyer may have the price increase or decrease. So the bitcoin is votality because of the small supply and in-demand.

Why is fiat money not too volatility?
Because the government is able to regulate a traditional money, they can make new money and just increase its supply so that it does not have a votality compare to bitcoin.

Note: This is my only opinion, if you have any opinion you can also share it.

As what you said before the price of bitcoin is really volatile.... And we all know also that this is really unpredictable.. The market fmhas its own way of movement...  Thats why its hard to know why it always happening... Well tha only things we need only to do is to adopt this changes and price and build our own best strategy in handling this...

because of the large number of people investing in it. because we also can not possibly keep track of people who invest all over the world. when they will sell and when they will buy.

Bitcoin price fluctuations in various international and local Bitcoin markets, such as Bitstamp, Coinbase, Kraken, Bitcoin.co.id, BTCChina, etc. are driven by many factors. Volatility is measured in the traditional market by the Volatility Index (CBIE Volatility Index) also known as the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX).
Volatility in the Bitcoin market does not yet have a generally accepted index because cryptocurrency as an asset class is still in its nascent stage. However, we know that Bitcoin is capable of experiencing volatility in the form of price changes 10 times against the US dollar in such a short period of time.

Based on my experience and observation as a Bitcoin user, I believe that Bitcoin is volatile due to some items like, the law of supply and demand, decentralized nature and that Bitcoin is still on its early stages.
First, The law of supply and demand, we all know that the supply of Bitcoin is limited so the sudden movement of the interest of the people, investors and users would really have a big effect on its value. Whether its going up or down it is based on the demand for Bitcoin. Next is its decentralized nature, it is one of the best features of Bitcoin, no one is controlling or manipulating it, anyone is free to join and do transactions, anytime, with no minimum or maximum amount limit or requirements. This is something that is good but also can be bad, a double edge sword I can say, since no one is regulating it, we can do pretty much what we want, hence we have those whales, they have the money, then they can sort of manipulate the market in some ways. And last but not the least is that Bitcoin is still in its early stages, even its investors and enthusiasts are still easily swayed by false or negative news, FUDs created by the media can still make them do things that would result to more harm than good, like panic selling.

Bitcoin price is volatile because they are not xontrolled with the governmwnt. Only those managers or behind the cryptocurrency can regulate it. No laws can be follow, like the government.
We cannot possibly track the investors who invest all over the world.

for me. bitcoins fluctuate because it is our nature that they are constantly changing and they always have new things around us that are always fluctuating in price and market. bitcoin is a fast market movement and we do not know what might happen because sellers and buyers' emotions may have price increases or decreases so bitcoin is votality because supply and demand are small and possibly because of other coins affecting bitcoin instability

Bitcoin is same volatile as anything on a stock exchange. But his volatility makes him so profitable. The higher risk - the higher profit. You can earn really good on those jumps in the rates of the bitcoin in the market.

Currently volatility is a massive downside, however with lightning network and off chain transactions becoming the norm, transactions speeds are starting to become comparable to most of the major competitors. Time will tell what solutions we arrive at in regards to volatility reduction.

Bitcoin control by traders thats why it is so volatile and it cannot be change on how it will behave, The market for bitcoin has not been regulated by the government, I believe that unregulated market and lack of maturity are biggest reasons for it, Bitcoin so volatile because no one can control the supply to fill demand on market, Too Many Factors in the Perceptions of Asset Value and Value of Bitcoin, Small Option Value for Investors.

its just because it is not being regulated. it solely depends on the supply and the demand.

It is just simple. The demands that the company received in the world exchange or trade market gives them more volatility since they need to meet the demands of the public in the market.

Probably because bitcoin is not predicted for the future and bitcoin be like that. Each market user is different, therefore why bitcoin is hard to predict for the future.

My opinion about Bitcoin is the same as you, if only bitcoin has more specific function, it would be great fun.
for Fiat money, it can be of little value if the government does not control the making of new money, because if Fiat money increases in number, its value will also decrease.

Investing in bitcoins is not easy because of their volatile nature. But why are they so volatile?
Some possible reasons are:
The electronic money bubble is slowly deflating
Fraudulence is increasing
Buying Bitcoin means you are the user, not the owner of the Bitcoin technology

One reason why Bitcoin may fluctuate against fiat currencies is the perceived store of value versus the fiat currency. Bitcoin has properties that make it similar to gold. It is governed by a design decision by the developers of the core technology to limit its production to a fixed amount, 21 million BTC.

Bitcoin volatility is driven in large part by varying perceptions of the intrinsic value of the cryptocurrency as a store of value and method of value transfer. A store of value is the function by which an asset can be useful in the future with some predictability. A store of value can be saved and exchanged for some good or service in the future. A method of value transfer is any object or concept used to transmit property in the form of assets from one party to another. Bitcoin’s volatility at the present makes it a somewhat unclear store of value

Bitcoin can also become volatile when the Bitcoin community exposes security vulnerabilities in an effort to produce massive open source responses in the form of security fixes. This approach to security is paradoxically one that produces great outcomes, with many valuable open source software initiatives to its credit, including Linux. Bitcoin developers must reveal security concerns to the public in order to produce robust solutions.

It is worth noting that these losses and the ensuing news about the losses had a double effect on volatility. They reduced the overall float of Bitcoin by approximately, producing a potential lift on the value of the remaining Bitcoin due to increased scarcity.
