Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

"The name "theymos" doesn't mean anything, and it's pronounced exactly how it's spelled. I don't capitalize it except when starting a sentence."

Yeah I saw that once. Still not easy for a non-native to know: 'th' is pronounced different in Thames and They

I always thought is was something like 'Famous'
That would make sense

I used to say "they-mos" but after the hack, I started saying "thermos."

The signature campaign posters adding useless redundant fluff to their posts to reach their minimum word count are lowering my IQ.

I use a soft (unvoiced) 'th' and rhyme the vowels with "may most"

its pronounced 'thermos'
This is correct. It's actually a bit more like "theyrmos," but the "y" is semi-silent. If you're British, you've probably been pronouncing it correctly without even trying.
