    Houston has played much better with one day in between games in this series: after losing Game 1 following a layoff, they bounced back with a win in Game 2. After three days off following that contest, they were blown out in Game 3 before bouncing back with their gritty showing in Game 4. There’s no extended layoff here so that’s something that seems to work in Houston’s favor. The Rockets have momentum as they showed they can grind Golden State to a halt with their defense. Both teams really shortened their rotations in Game 4 and it will be interesting to see how that effects players going forward. Playing at home with the momentum of the fourth quarter in their pockets, Houston finds a way to win here and take a 3-2 series edge.

Even with his numbers being what they are, he’s no match for Severino, who has been mowing down hitters left and right: his ERA is actually four-tenths of a run HIGHER than his FIP ERA projects for this point of the season based on his numbers. In a game with plenty of power, it’s Severino’s arm that is the difference as the Yankees prevail.

    Boston has the upper hand in this series but the problem they’ve had is finding a way to win on the road in the playoffs. Five of the Celtics’ six road losses in the playoffs have come by double figures: only a 104-102 defeat in Game 4 of the opening round to the Bucks was closer than 11 points. That’s part of being a young team but it is rather strange given that the Celtics led the East and were third in the league with 28 road wins. Cleveland knows that their backs are against the wall and James tends to deliver in these situations: look for him to carry the Cavaliers one more time to send this one back to Boston for Game 7.

    So much of this contest is going to come down to how Houston responds after getting destroyed in the second half of Game 6. They seemed to have the Warriors on the ropes in the opening quarter as they were bombing away from the perimeter and making like miserable. Unfortunately, Houston completely fell apart after the opening quarter as they were doomed by terrible turnovers like backcourt violations, passes that went way out of bounds, losing control of their dribble and offensive fouls. If Paul can even go, he’s going to be limited. The Warriors have been here before while the Rockets haven’t: that might be the difference as Golden State gets the upper hand.

Still, Washington’s best bet to grab a win away in Vegas was always going to be in Game 1. With the Knights now aware of how aggressive the Caps are approaching the Final and, most definitely, expecting them to step up a gear in the following fixture, it is very unlikely the hosts will drop their own urgency levels. Truth be told, the Knights are quite likely to play even better in Game 2.

As I stated, Gray has struggled this year, but he is taking on an offense that has averaged just 3.23 rpg on the road. He will not shut them down completely, but enough to get the win.

The Mariners won the first game of the series, 2-1 on Monday, but the Rangers responded with a 9-5 win on Tuesday behind a big three run double by Roughned Odor.  These are big games for the Mariners as they try and keep touch with the Astros who are destined to go on a big run sometime this summer.
