Going up a coupla bucks ain't a rally. It's just the slow growth of a few enlightened people getting what Bitcoin is about. There won't be a rally until something major happens.

like a media-hype because journalists realize @$30 that bitcoin somehow survived?

I think there is some truth to that. The joe-blow media will pay attention again once bitcoin reaches new all-time highs.

Even journalists will need a major event to report on. It's coming soon I think.

like a media-hype because journalists realize @$30 that bitcoin somehow survived?

This will be really significant, because one of the supposed ways in which you can retroactively define something as a "bubble" (or ponzi) is that, after bursting, it does not recover for a very long time (if at all).  So if Bitcoin were to retake the 30s anytime soon, it would forcibly shut up and discredit anyone using (or who has used) ad-hominems like "bubble" or "ponzi" to attack it.

Or existing people to bitcoin have short term memory problem and new people to bitcoin do not care that history tends to repeat itself.

I can't wait for us to surpass the old highs - if only to stop the idiot "bubble-heads" that come crawling out of the woodwork every time we advance in valuation.

You're going to be waiting for looooooooooong time.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

You might compress the timescales or not. I admit this is kind of convenient from a prediction standpoint because it gives 2 different results.

No sellers, but no-one is seriously going to buy since no one wants to sell - it's something of a standoff.

Its funny, I was just about to post that we were trending down -- asks above 5 have declined by about 200k, bids below 15 increasing.  But I just wrote one other comment and bam! the 11.06 weakness evoked a real 5k+ askwall that already pushed the price to 11.50!

EDIT:  That wall got eaten down to 2k pretty quickly but 5 minutes later was built back with another 5k bid  -- somebody is seriously accumulating at or below 11.50.
EDIT2: Whoops! Another 7k just added to the wall!

Pretty cool, had to draw a secondary trend-line since we've been diverging from the original. (From around the 8.50 area 11 days ago.) So, primary support at 11.00 with the longer term trendline suggesting another level around 10.00

Interesting to watch...
