I think bitcoin itself already offer good security, but yeah bitcoin user need pay attention to their wallet by doing five steps you stated above. Nothing safe if you connected to internet so i prefer hardware wallet instead online wallet.

i think the monst easiest way will be to print out a paper wallet and store all your coins on this wallet .
And keep it safe in a trezor (offline) ! thats more safe than hardware i guress XD

   Hackers are very knowledgeable in term of hacking an accounts and wallet. Sometimes whatever you keep your wallet safe they can still hack your account and get all that you store in your wallet. But of course much better to avoid it and make some actions to keep safe your online wealth. For me, i prefer to use paper wallet and put it on a safe place that nobody knows but only me.
